I agree with previous posts. I looked at SO many websites, some I liked, but just a couple, i LOVED. I fell in love with the style of our photographer, and it just 'felt right' - even more than when I tried on my wedding dress. I ended up working out a deal, and our photographer will also be flying to Mexico for our wedding, as he is from the city we are from. A friend of mine chose her photographer because she was a family friend and cheap, and she ended up hating ALL of her photos. We agreed we could splurge a bit on this because the photos are super important to me. So you have to weigh all the pros and cons and look at TONS of sites. E-mail the ones you love and see what you can work out. Dont settle! Good luck! (my photographers info is in my bio if you want to peek)

This isn't in mine, but I've heard of lots of brides wanting some sort of reassurance if there photographer breaks their equipment or gets hurt. Providing another photographer or whatever. Something you might want to consider. Good luck!

Yes, I think most resorts you can bring a photographer if they're there as a guest. That's what I'm doing with mine. His info is in my bio.

So many Canadians! I agree - first, deep breaths, next, look at budget, then location, then resort. Compare the packages and go with your gut. Then you can worry about all the other things, but one at a time. All together its just too overwhelming! One thing at a time allows you to keep your sanity

I inquired with Elizabeth a few months ago and she was available on my day - it just turned out I totally couldn't even begin to afford her. Luckily I ended up with my photographer with a very similar style, for a much more affordable price.

I'm totally in love with the Melissa Sweet Bridesmaid dresses - but they're on the pricier side. But you can find them in both Canada and the states. Good luck!

I totally recommend vista print too. I know lots of people who used their postcards for the save the dates. I used the post cards for our rsvp's and it was super easy!

Go for it for sure! I agree - our session really allowed us to get comfy with our photographer and get relaxed, and it allowed our photograher to get to know us, and how to make us look good. So if they're free - I would totally take advantage. I wasn't going to do them, and then they were part of our package and I'm sooo happy we did. The pics turned out amazing, and I love them! Even the fiance who was against it now agrees it was a good idea.

Yayy! We have a thread! We're doing pretty good. Gown is ordered, resort booked, photography booked, invites out, most guests booked. Now just about to get into the nitty gritty with resort (flowers, cake etc) Will you ladies be having a private reception or semi-private? Having an at home reception?
