And remember, its still cold enough to make peeing outside not worth it....lol

I guess their big flipflop sale was in Feb! Too bad. Just didn't want anyone lining up at 7am on saturday when they dont have to. Have a great LOOOOOONG weekend! Hey Aly, Thanks for the heads up - I was thinking of going, but wasnt sure if it was worth it or not. I think I have enough to pack down there already! lol

Those having a beach wedding....
Jennybell1 replied to dst10spr97's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Im going with the barefoot sandals (jewellery for your feet) and I am not providing the brushes for their feet bc I feel its an extra cost that wont go very far in my mind. I am providing my guests with collapsable fans that I found at Michaels and placing them on the chair prior to the wedding. I am going to purchase some flat sandals for after the wedding bc I dont want to go barefoot then...just havent found any yet.... Good luck! -
Straw Raffia Fans vs. Bamboo Fans
Jennybell1 replied to bashigyal's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I used the collapsable wood fans from Michaels and there are 18 in a book for just over $20.00 but got a coupon from another BDW (mayanlily) and was able to save 50%. I bought two boxes and I love them bc they wont take up any space in my luggage or the guests luggage on the way home. I am adding some ribbon to mine along with a tag that says thank you on it as well and placing them on the chair prior to the wedding on the beach. GOod luck deciding!! -

On the outside I seem organized, but really Im right in there with everyone else. Lol. I flip flop atleast once a month on my resort choice and although I have a lot of my DIY's done already it seems a little neurotic to me....lol BUt I think I like how you said IM organized....sounds better then neurotic...lol Thanks!

I am getting quite concerned now as i had set on this resort but the bad reviews are now putting me off, i have also read that they do try and sell you a time share thing!!! not something i want whilst on holiday really! I carnt really find another resort that has everything else we need this resort as a waterpark with slides etc that we wanted for our children this is quite high on our list so if anyone knows of any other resorts that have waterslides please let me know so i could have a look i would be very grateful, i am hoping someone can reassure me about the Gran Caribe Real. I feel your pain honey! I have been looking at Sandos Playacar Beach REsort for the longest time and then heard about the Gran Caribe, so I looked into that as well, but after I read the reviews on tripadvisor I immediately went back to my first choice of Sandos. I walso need a resort that is kid friendly but I want a resort with a great beach, and within the price range that my guests are comfortable spending.....so until I find out anything further, Sandos it is....I just have to warn my middle aged guests about the time share issues, so that they dont get sucked in! If you find another resort I please let me know, and I will do the same for you!!! HUgs! Jenn

Anyways, maybe I will just give a list of what I want to a TA and they can just give me a list to work off of. I want to pick a resort already! Tiffany, LOL - there is always that chance that the bridezilla is on her way out - but Im sure you will be just fine. I flip flop on a monthly basis about my resort, but in the end keep coming back to it, so I feel your pain. I want to book mine as well, but it seems I cant do that until my trip is booked bc my resort needs to have my trip confirmation prior to booking, they wont take deposits...weird huh? I think if you let the TA do her job and narrow down the resorts based on your requests, it wont be a daunting task - nor can you bridezilla anyone...lol GOod luck!

I am starting to think that yes I am. I need to find a TA because the list ended up being around 74 resorts long, and that is too many. I never realized how many resorts are down there. So now the search begins for a TA, and the question is.... do I use an online TA or find a local one in Denver? Does anyone have any experience working with a TA? Tiffany, I had the same issues too, but what I did is narrow down my search prior going to a TA. I figured out how much I wanted to spend per person, approx date of wedding whether it was adults only or family resort, free weddings or paid weddings, and which area I wanted. Once I had that info - I went to a TA with exactly what I was looking for (i.e under $1800 per person, family resort for the wedding, adult only for honeymoon, free wedding, etc.) She came back to me with a list of resorts that matched my criteria. I hope that helps!!!

The timeshare people at Sandos are like vultures and dont leave some people alone. I dont know if I want that issue, so that is why I was wondering if Gran Caribe is a time share affiliate lol

I'm going to have to check out this resort yal are talking about - gran caribe....I am still trying to make a definite decision here. Sandos is a really nice resort but Im worried about the time share issues some people have been dealing with.....anyone here of anything like that at the gran caribe?

Pam, Im glad you tried some on and got a feel for what you might like. I know its frustrating - I am a street size 10-12 and I had to try on some 14 dresses and there were none to be found. Some dresses were okay and others were way to tight that I could barely get them over my body - let alone zip the bugger up....so I feel your pain...but like I said - give ethos a try bc they really helped me out. As for dresses - when does everyone think it would be time to look for BM dresses - my wedding isnt for a year and a half - so do I do it now or do I wait until next summer?

Now I've gotta get rid of dress #1 (or is it considered dress # 2 ?!) lol Haha! Good for you for doing what your heart told you to do. In the end - you have to be happy, and if that dress does that for you, well, then no one can say anything different to you. Dress #2 - is it possible to use it as a TTD? Or is it too expensive for that?? If not, then Im sure you could put it up on here and see what bites you get from it. Good luck! P.S> post some pics of your dress - we all want to see it!

Stay tuned tomorrow.... haha....your hilarious....I love it ..."the dress that got away"...well I feel for you...just remember - your only going to wear it once.....I bought the expensive dress my first wedding - and all it did was collect dust in a box in my closet after the wedding. I never wore it or saw it again. Remember you will look beautiful and stunning in any dress -he hasnt seen it so hewont know any different either. He wont care - so long as your there marrying him. Why pay for the expensive dress when you already have one - put that money towards something else....just a thought. Either way - have fun visiting the dress...lol - your too cute!

Luggage Tags- Riviera Maya 2011
Jennybell1 replied to volosikj's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
You can also buy non laminating luggage tags - where the card is slipped into the packaging and then thereis a little plastic closure - that is what I am doing as I dont want to write out everyone elses address. Plus they say not to put your address on luggage tags - only to put your name and a cell phone number as this is a huge pirvacy issue. Plus a crime issue too. They say no land phone numbers and no address. Just a heads up. Luggage handlers then know your not home.... -
Congratulations and welcome - this forum is a plethora of information - you will be very happy here let me tell you! Good luck and happy planning!

Any 2012 brides out there?
Jennybell1 replied to Amelie-Mellow's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
THanks Ladies! I posted my E-story on another thread - I will attach the link - hope this works!!! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-2010-a-58677/ Amelie - we have sort of picked Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa, but until we do a site visit either this year or early next year - its kinda up in the air. I am basically 80% sure I want sandos based on what it offers my guests and the price is right....so heres to hoping it all goes well. Ashley - I think we have time on our side - and it will be way less stressful. I am planning on sending out my STD's this JUly - now that puts my wedding 1.5 yrs away, but it gives them one full year to save bc the deposits need to go down around july aug next year. I am planning on sending out the official invites about 6 months prior to the wedding too. I like the Christmas card idea too. I have been on this site since Aug 2009 and already have my OOT bags complete, hangover kits complete, welcome/meet the guest book started (only family right now), I bought my fans and ribbon, have my invites, have my dress, his wedding ring...phew! I think thats it! Thats enough! lol Anyways I dont think planning this far ahead is a detriment at all - let people think your crazy - atleast you wont be the bride at the end scrambling - you will be able to sit back and relax and enjoy the weeks leading up to your wedding. I went thru the cinderella wedding back in 1999 and I vowed I would never do it again - no stress is the way to go let me tell you. Plan now, organize and start things now...you will be happier in the end. Good luck!
