LoveIs...i had my shower last weekend too! it was sooo great! although i felt uncomfortable with all the gifts, as we don't want gifts, but it was all lingerie which was a nice treat for Blair! hahah we had the Stagette the same night...sooooo fun! have you girls all had your showers/stagettes

Hi Girls!! so i lost this thread and found it yetserday and was so excited to reply and catch up...and then it didn't post my post and i was locked out all day, so here i'm trying again! good thing i remember everything i wanted to say! i hope. So it's been 3 1/2 weeks since my last post (bad me!) and i haven't been able to check one thing off my to do list, but have added a few things! haha My rings STILL haven't come in and i ordered them 4 weeks ago...and talked to my ring guy last night, he tells me now that my ring won't be done in time for my wedding in 3 weeks!! WTF!! so last night and this morning have been a disaster, my eyes are a little tired from tears...but then i say to myself, is it really THAT important...no!! so no more stress or worries, i'm going to just get a pretty plain gold band to suit the size of my ring and use that one for my wedding band, and when my eternity diamond band is done then FI and i will have our own special moment to "bless" the ring, and then i'll have two bands! and it will be so cheap to have a plain gold band. so goign to see the ring guy after work now. FIs ring should be in today, so hopefully i can check somethign from my list. The shirts we are making for our Event for eveyrone will be done this weekend! we are making tie dyed shirts (to fit the theme) and then i decided to do Iron on's that say Yah Mon!!! 03.09.10 to spice them up a little! 2 girl firends are coming this weekend to help! yay! and will also be printing my welcome letters today and then putting them all together in the bags and finishing off the OOT bags this weekend. aahhh!! BAJ, did you get your FIs shirt yet? what about, instead of short sleeve shirt, him wear a long sleeve shirt with the sleeve rolled up?! that is what our GM are doing with their shirts, keeps it nice looking yet casual! my FI will def be rolling up his sleeves after he takes his linen coat off. LoveIs.. how's the ring? hows loosing the 8lbs coming? i'm in the same boat! but i decided to not use the scale anymore, just worrying about how i look and feel and feel in clothes! so far so good, i should be ready in 3 weeks! You guys must all be soooo excited like me!! just try to avoid stress at all cause! like my rings, not is that bad, just as long as i don't get food poisoning on my wedding day like my brother did in dominican at his wedding! oy! YAY!!

I never wanted a shower, even if i was having an at home wedding...but once i planned to go away, i wanted a shower MINUS the gifts...well that didn't happen! i really felt uncomfortable opening the gifts, especially from people who were attending the wedding...but like someone else said, we all attend showers and weddings and buy gifts galore, so enjoy it and take it all in. I also didn't want to register....but the most common question i guess is, where are we registered! so annoying, i keep telling people we don't want gifts, but people insist on buying and people who aren't coming, family mainly, want to buy gifts, so this weekend we are going to register...3 weeks before the wedding i'm giving in! hahaha

Thanks for the stores to buy cardstock. i'm using it for our welcome letter things. i went to staples last night, they have it cheap there, but bright colors or white, ivory, grey. 125 pgs for $7:50. or a reg size pkg for $16 i think it was. I'm way in the SE so crowfoot might be more on gas than the savings would be worth. hehehe You guys were talking about alterations...i'm getting mine altered on Feb 17th and she wanted to book me on Feb 24th and we leave on March 5th! she said she just needs a few days to do alterations! But i thought i'd start to panic if i left it at the 24th, so i'll let you girls know how it goes and if you want the contact, she's in Mckenzie Lake so close to me! yay! She does the alterations for Blissful Bridal. I'm bringing my photographer from home! Actually she lives in Nelson. but she's just charging me for the cost of the trip, and her flight from Kelowna to Calgary. Great deal! I'm sure if you look around you'll find someone who will charge the cost of the trip, and if you get a "free booking" with your travel operator, then you could consider it free! ChristinaP that was me who was ticked about the flight times changing so much. such a HUGE pain since we have a group event planned for friday night and now we won't get there until after dinner, so it puts a rush on stuff...but i guess i won't complain since yours was moved by days! eek! fingers crossed that won't happen, oh dear, something else to worry about! hahah Oh well we leave in 3 weeks on Friday! Putting together all the welcome bags and shirts we are making everyone this weekend, then i'll be DONE!! Phewf, there's a long post for ya!

Christina i couldn't agree with you more! What are your guys plans for your weddings? are you all having it in the gazebo with dinner in a restaurant or is anyone renting out the private space? Are you doing anything special or different?

I'm behind on all the chit chat! I emailed paula to the other day to book my appt and she said they didn't do GBP anymore...i was like, uhhh we just had about 4 emails back and forth and each eamil i stated the hotel name, and then finally she's like, oh i thought it was grand Palladium! oy! I have talked to the new spa rep via email and just waiting to book our hair and pedi's when i hear back! i am def goign to book it before we get there. i'll tell him to put it in his books! hahah Julia, we have 47 booked! it's going to be so fun i cannot wait! try doing a search on Jan's, there is lots of talk about them, but like Christina said, most brides stop posting after their wedding...so hopefully you can find some info. I actually decided against ordering extra flowers other than flower girl flowers. But Tai is actually doing them for way cheaper than i thought now, so that is good. i bought parasols and fans for uber cheap for the BMs and moms instead. Beverly is getting on my nervous! hahah she never responds anymore. argh! so i'll just leave it for another couple weeks and then i'm going to call her. last time i called another WC there said she'd be back in 15 mins. so i called back in 20 and she wasn't there so the WC helped me and said she'd reply to the email i've been waiting so long on. Julia i also heard one other girl got her steel drum band for free! i wonder how we can snake some freebies too! hehehe I can't believe i'm just 25 days away until we leave! I really wish there were some past brides that got married here. i haven't seen any pics or anything even on trip advisor...just the odd one from someone who went to a friends wedding there.

Our flight times with Sunquest, who is using air transat to Jamaica has changed our flight times 3 times now. they are crappy flight times now but i guess they could be worse. I hope they don't change our days!

Thanks Nadine! We are planning a TTD the day after the wedding but started to worry that it might not be the best day to do it, but now i'm glad! i really wished we were doing it on our honeymoon week 2, but our photog will be gone then Thank you and your pic is amazing!!

Hey, ya you can totally bring in outside vendors, even outside photographers! i double checked because i was goign to hire a local photog but ended up flying one down from home for cheaper and get more stuff! flowers you can bring your own and so i'm sure decor or antyhing else. Beverly and one other lady are the WCs and they do it all i think. i'm not sure if the other girl is an asst or not like at the RIU, but the GBP doesn't have nearly as many weddings at the RIU, some resorts have like 3 weddings a day, and i know that a couple of days before my wedding i wanted to use the gazebo so i asked if there were other weddings taking place that day and there isn't, and i'm the only one on our day. i love that there aren't a zillion weddings, makes our extra special! and i already have my meeting set up with Beverly the day after we get there, march6 at 10am! FI and i might be hurting as we are all going out to the disco our first night! hehehe but i wouldn't worry about unorganized. i'm sure they have it fully under control! I still haven't had to pay a deposit, i've asked her a couple times and she said nope, not til we are there. we have everything in writing so we know its ours. but i'm surprised she let you book your date without having a room even booked.

In Calgary at Deerfoot Meadows they had a couple bride, a few flower girl and maybe on MOH. no bridesmaids. I need up buying 2 BM and a MOB and MOG on ebay for $3 each including shipping. the fellas i also ordered off of ebay and had them custom made. for about $15 for 8 iron ons.

Wow awesome! now i need to get on my OOT!
