dreams Pb DJ vs DJ Mannia
jenlycus replied to elizabethrodriguez314's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Good point..I forgot about day passes! I think Moon charges around $85 per person, and if there are 2 ppl from dj mannia that night, then it's close to even. -

dreams Pb DJ vs DJ Mannia

Hey I'm not getting married at Dreams, but booked DJ mannia for 4 hours. I booked them through my resort (Moon Palace) and I'm paying close to $1100! I never asked DJ Mannia directly for his rate, so thanks for posting. Since DJ Mannia's rate is only $850, I'm guessing my resort is just pocketing the rest! I wonder if I can negotiate the rate down a bit then. Anyone have experience doing this with a resort? -

Wow this book is great! The best I've seen. Thanks for posting this. I love the idea so much and will go shopping to see if I can find similar books at a good price. -
New Moon Palace in Punta Cana

Found this on youtube and thought I would share. A wedding couple posted a video of their ceremony on the beach at Moon PC. Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XktswODqFd4 Â For ppl asking about the $140 per person/per night rate that I got, my travel agent is in Canada and booked us with Transat Holidays for flight & hotel. For the land only portion, I believe she just booked through them too. It came out to $952 per person for 7 days. -

I sent you an email with all the package info I got from Moon Palace. Hope it helps! When are you planning on getting married? -

Thanks for the tip with the emails. I've been numbering my questions now so that each of them gets answered. As for your group rate, talk to your travel agent to bring it down. I checked and my Land only rate that my travel agent got me is $970 per person (double occ.) for 7 days...so that's about $140. I secured this rate back in March though. Also, the unlimited private events deal is 25rooms OR 75 room nights. So if you have 11 rooms, each booked for 7 nights, then this would be 77 room nights and this also qualifies for the deal! I've mostly been emailing Pilar in Miami, but I'm not sure if she's my actual coordinator. Are you going with any upgraded wedding packages? I've decide to go with the Sapphire one and was told I could use the $1500 room credit towards the package. Do you know when the resort officially becomes Hard Rock? I'm just curious when all the renovation work will be done. Hopefully before November. -
New Moon Palace in Punta Cana

Hi, I'm getting married at Moon Palace this December. To be honest, we haven't done much planning yet, other than getting our guests to book. We'll be around 40-45 guests and should qualify for the 75 room nights deal (ie. unlimited private functions). Did anyone else qualify for this? Did you have any trouble securing this with the resort? Everytime I ask the coordinator specifics about the deal, I get vague answers, or she just ignores my question. With the date finally approaching, I decided it was time to start working. I got a few attachments from a coordinator from the resort with their flower selection, cake selection, buffet menus, cocktail menus, plated menus,... I'd be happy to pass along the info to anyone interested. Just send me an email. GazzieGirl, so sorry things didn't turn out completely as you had hoped! This makes me very nervous! Which coordinator did you deal with? I am dealing with Iliana. So far we've only emailed each other a few times, but the time between her replies is definitely very slow (about 1-2 weeks) and her answers are often yes/no answers. Did you have your ceremony on the beach? Was it windy? Where did you have your reception? Time4Me2Plan, I just booked through a travel agent for a package that included air + hotel. I didn't find that I got a good group deal. We're paying close to what we would have paid had eveyone booked individually. I wasn't too happy about that, but what can you do. Our package price (double occupancy) is $1700 per person for 7 days, including flight. The flight is probalby around $600 round trip, so we're paying about $1100 per person for the week for just the hotel. What rate are you paying? To any brides planning their wedding here, let's share info! To those who have posted pics..thank you so much! It's so hard to find information on this new resort. -
Bath and Body Works Deal 5 for $5

I love this idea for OOT bags. I'll get some of their anticbacterial lotion and body cream...maybe a tropical scent. -
Glad I found this thread. I had envisioned doing all the legal stuff away in Mexico on the wedding day. Then I read up about all the blood tests & necessary documentation and it seems like a headache. I think you girls have convinced me that doing the legal stuff at home is the way to go. I'll probably keep it small and simple and just go to city hall.
