Greetings from Japan!!! Tokyo is an awesome city, we have had a great time but today is our last day here. We leave tonight to head back to China. So sad, I have really enjoyed being here! Here's some pictures! Day 1 - Arrived in Tokyo at 9pm - Ate dinner in Shinjuku Day 2 - Took the train to Kamakura to see Japan's Largest Buddha, visited the Roppongi area and had dinner and drinks with friends. Day 3 - Did some shopping in Harajuku and gawked at the interesting Japanese girls that had blue hair, some dressed as maids or school girls, Some dressed from head to toe in pink. Saw many dogs that were dressed up in outfits and were being pushed in baby strollers. Had dinner at a Okonomiyaki restaurant. Day 4 - Last minute shopping in Shinjuku and then taking the train to Narita Airport. Miss you girls, I'll catch up with you later! xo ~ Erica -

From looking at your picture, you look in your 30's and your hubby-to-be looks older than you! Come on... you are one of the spunkiest, funniest, sweetest brides I know! Age is only a number, just remember that! I bet you are the coolest stepmother ever! I have a stepmom and she was pretty cool while I was growing up. I have to ask... when is your birthday?!?!? Maybe we are birthday twins!? As far as registering, we registered at Target & Bed, Bath & Beyond. Both registries are pretty much bare so we are telling people if they MUST get us something a Home Depot gift card would be appreciated. We are half way through with remodeling our house. The only thing left to do is get rid of our 20+ year old appliances. It's bad, my stove is the GE pukey gold color... ewwww!!! I don't think I could ever register for things I didn't want so I can take them back to the store after the wedding. That is just too much work in my eyes! Wow!!!! So, people really do that!?!? Unbelievable! We are hoping to get prego soon after our wedding. We aren't getting any younger and our clock is ticking away... tick... tick... TICK! lol ~ Erica -

Thanks SusieQ... I will try to keep sane while home. The other stressful part is when we are home everyone wants time with us so I literally make up an Excel spreadsheet and block out time. Doctor appts, lunches, family visits, etc. It's nice to see everyone but a little on the crazy side! Plus, I'm helping throw a baby shower for a family member, having a bach. party thrown by my MOH (21 year old sister) (<-- Scared about this one since she is so young and loves to party!), having my last and FINAL bridal shower. When all is said and done I will have completed 4 bridal showers. OMG!!! Our guest bedroom is FULL of gifts and we haven't even had our wedding yet! This is so new to me and I barely had much on my registeries and they are pretty much empty. My family keeps bugging me to go back online and register for more but I really don't want to, is that bad? For our AHR, we're not putting where we are registered on the invitations because we really don't want anymore gifts and if anyone INSISTS on getting us something I'm sure it will be money and we can use it for our honeymoon! Ahhhhhhh... how will I ever get my last minute wedding stuff done before I head back to CHINA!!! Okay, maybe I will be the first bride to break!!! (sniff-sniff) Sorry for the long book ONCE again! ~ Erica -

My FI's side of the family we draw names so I have one person to buy for - his mother. I already told my side of the family that Christmas will be small since we have a wedding to pay for. My FI and I decided on possibly buying a video camera or nice camera for ourselves for Christmas. Other than that, not much shopping for me. We fly back home Dec. 17th and if I need to pick up anything I will do that when we get back to Michigan. My bach. party is Dec. 19th, two days after we get back to MI. I just hope I can pull myself out of the Jet Lag!!!! With it being 13 hours time difference it takes 4-5 days to get back on schedule Yikes! -

I am hoping to down size our home and move to a smaller house in the next few years. I'd like to do it next year, FI thinks we should wait about 5 years and have a house built. We'll see nothing has really jumped out at me and I have been window shopping (online) for about two years. I think Chinese food would be great for dinner, hummmmmmm maybe while I am working I can get FI to cook. He'll just order food/ So Erica do you find it lonely being so far from home? I love going to open houses and seeing how they decorated. We just bought a house 3 years ago before we knew we were moving to China. But, we still have it and have been remodeling it ever since. The last thing we had done was vinyl siding and it really makes it look nice considering the house was "MINT GREEN" when we bought it. The bathroom was pink, even the toilet and toilet seat!!! We built a 2 level deck on the back and we really miss sitting out there and watching nature since it backs up to one acre of woods. The one sad part we found out 6 months ago was we had an empty lot next to us which we were planning to buy when we moved back in 2010 but, it has been sold and the buyer is building a house on it. We were so bummed! Oh well, we should have bought it when we bought the house. Our dinner last night was great! We had really good chinese food! I hope you get some sleep this weekend. As far as missing Michigan, YES we miss it alot. It was hard to leave our family behind. Especially my 9 year old black lab. She was a sweetie, fortunately my mother took her and she has become part of their family. They love her to death and when I go back home to visit she'll walk over to me, wag her tail and then go sit by my mom! My mom said we can't have her back when we come home because she is theirs now. I guess we'll have to see. But, we have been working for the same company over here for over 12 years so when we moved out here they are paying for our housing/bills, transportation and 3-4 trips home a year! We are very fortunate. So the longest we've been away from our family is 4months. We just became an aunt and uncle last week so we won't get to see our new nephew for 5 weeks! So, we will be home Dec. 17-Jan 4. Okay, sorry for the long book! Better get going, I hear my FI in the kitchen attempting to make breakfast. LOL ~ Erica -

I would be pissed too, it has to go into the budget and it is just a couple months away. I totally would be freaking out and demanding a price list and some pictures. Sorry is 3am here "Sue" isn't sleeping, I read the post about the friend wanting to do the brides hair the day of the wedding (sorry I forget which lovely bride this is) I think I'd be worried about her and her baby and she being able to focus that day. Just tell her I am sorry I just need you there as my friend and not to be worrying about my hair. I had another fitting on my dress tonite "forgot my camera". my FMIL probably wouldn't have been able to work it anyway. the dress is looking great and should be ready next week. I am very excited. I also talked to FMIL about the fur coat and explained how I was feeling about owning something so beautiful and accepting something so expensive the I know I'll never wear. She was really good about it, and was totally ok with the thanks but no thanks. So guess what? In two weeks we're going shopping for a dress for her (not sure where with all the winter stuff being out) and we're going shopping for diamond ear rings. She really liked that idea. So no worries about a paint can being thrown at me for wearing a fur coat, I will just sparkle and a sparkle looks good even if your wearing jeans and a t shirt. Very happy girl here. I should try to go back to bed... nite chickies Hey SusieQ!!! The "hair" bride is ME... I think I will let her down gently and use the salon at my resort for my hair. I think she should understand. Another fitting.. yayyy!!!! Was your dress hanging in the window like last time, ready to greet you? Hee-hee. That is so exciting!!! I can't wait until it is hanging in your closet!!! That's great that the FMIL understands the issue on the fur coat. Diamond Earrings... you are sooooo lucky! What kind will you get? Studs? Drop? Chandelier? Come on you have to have some kind of idea?!?!? Okay... Good night girls! ~ Erica (China Girl) -

Hi! This is what we are using on ours, it's kind of long but we had them printed on the back of business cards with our logo on the front. I stole it from another BDW bride and changed a few words. As we come upon our special day, Jason and Erica would like to say… Welcome to Mexico, and enjoy your stay. We thank you for coming all this way. Please enjoy these gifts that we all share. They are brought to you with our love and care. Let’s celebrate and keep those cocktails within reach. As we exchange our vows this Wednesday on the beach! 02.10.10 ~ Erica

You have to do what you are comfortable with on your wedding day and she will understand. I don't see how she could be offended. My friend wasn't. She was relieved... she didn't want the pressure of ruining my hair. With the humidity and stuff down there, she was unsure of how my hair would react and wasn't comfortable doing it in the end.
