  1. Thank you so much for this link. My mom just passed away August 30 & planning or even thinking of this wedding just absolutely tears me up. I am planning on wearing her wedding dress that day (as long as I can get it cleaned & altered) & having a picture of her on my bouquet is perfect.
  2. Thank you so much! I was able to open it. Thanks again, Shannon

  12. Hi everyone I was just wondering what everyones feelings were on a bridal shower. I am probably having about 30-35 people at my wedding. I am not inviting extended family, only immediate family and close friends of the two of us. I didn't think it was right to have a bridal shower & ask people (extended family especially) to come to a bridal shower & bring a gift to a shower that they are not invited to the wedding for. I have heard both sides. Some people have said to not have one & some said still have one. What is everyone out there doing & what is your input.... Thanks! Shannon
  13. The garment care location I brought it to said it was a polyester/nylon material. There are no tags on the inside at all, not even the size. I would greatly appreciate any help.
  14. Hi I am a fellow 2011 bride! We are planning a May 28, 2011 wedding at Riu Ocho Rios. I really haven't made any plans yet. I have contacted the resort and they said I can't do anything until March of 2010, so I still have time. I actually broke my shoulder and had surgery about a month and a half ago so I have only recently even began to think about plans. Time goes by very fast, so it seems far, but our weddings will be here soon enough. Good luck planning, Shannon

  18. I am sure she is thrilled. She just passed away on August 30 this year. We had always discussed it since I was a little girl and I knew this had to be the dress I wear. I have no doubt she is so happy.
  19. Hi Sandy Welcome and congratulations. I actually went to the Riu Montego Bay last September with my fiance and we loved it! It really was an amazing trip and is why we are getting married at the Riu in Ocho Rios. Good luck with your planning Shannon
  20. Really? That's so funny! I have lived here all my life. My fiance actually lives in Bellerose, so he is a little more of a long island guy (right on the border). Nice to hear from a neighbor!
  21. I actually brought the dress to one place that does garment care and they were not positive they could get it looking good. I have to try other places, so I thought I would just put the word out and see if anyone has gotten this done before. My parents got married in December so it does need some altering, but the cleaning is the biggest part. Hers also has long sleeves so I am planning on cutting them off and doing a little altering around the neckline, but otherwise leaving as is. Thanks for the input..I will definitely keep looking..

  24. Hi I am planning on wearing my mothers wedding dress on my wedding day, but am having trouble finding a place that I can trust to clean and alter the dress. The dress is 35 years old this December and was kept in a shopping bag in the basement since I can remember so it is a dark beige and has some stains. I was just wondering if there is anyone that has done this before and if there is anyone in the NYC area that can advise of a place I can possibly bring the dress. Thanks Shannon
