Yes, if you get them a room, then you don't need to pay the day pass. I believe they waive the outside photographer fee as well from what I have read elsewhere but I would check with them to be sure. Looking at Lillian's response she doesn't really address my question related to other outside vendors. I will ask her again and let you know her response.

Since the weather has finally gotten above freezing and we haven't had snow for a little while, I have been walking. 14 blocks yesterday and 16 blocks today. Not that far but haven't been feeling well the last few days so that is about all I can handle for now. So happy about sunshine and sunlight later in the day! I already have more energy!

I am getting some ideas for our AHR. Our budget is going to be on the smaller side which will be easy for us to accomplish given that it will be in my hometown which is pretty small so prices will be on the lower end. Still not sure about wearing my dress though but we will see...

Anyone have vendor lists outside of those that Ceiba sends to you? Just want to get an idea of options for prices and quality. Thanks!

This is the question I asked and the response I received: Are outside vendors allowed such as a photographer? If so, then do we need to pay a day pass for each person? How much is a day pass? We have a photo company in the resort, but if you want to bring an external one, you just have to pay a fee of $300 usd to our photo company, this fee is just to permit the access to the resort, this person can't eat or drink, if you want them to eat or drink you have to pay a day pass also, the day is $77 usd (tropical, colonial, caribe and beach) and $95 usd (palace) or you can pay him the dinner menu. Some photographer ask the bride for this, this is up to you.

I love the idea of being able to pick and choose what we want so that is great. Just nervous about working with vendors from a distance, however, Ceiba is great and I have only heard and seen wonderful things and weddings about them.

We are thinking of having pink, orange and green (think pastels) for our colors. I have four bridesmaids and am considering having two in pink and two in orange. They can pick the styles that best suit them. Too strange or do you think this could work?

Since they have no specific packages and everything is customized at Ceiba (which is great!), how do you know you are using the best vendors and getting the best prices? Is there a vendor list outside of what the resort sends to assist you with this? Also, does the WC at Ceiba assist with coordinating this or do you have to do all the leg work yourself? Just a few questions I have before making a final decision on a site.

There will be fees for any outside vendor you use plus a day pass for each person. You cannot customize the packages at all so I understand your frustration. I have the same concerns.

Diana just sent a list and information to us. Haven't had time to review it thoroughly yet but she said in her email that we can use any vendors we want. There is no day pass or fee for us to use them or for them to access the resort which is a big cost savings compared to other resorts we are looking at.

Got information back from Barcelo Maya and Ceiba del Mar. Have to review the info this weekend and make a decision. Nervous and excited at the same time!
