Hey Everyone! My fiance and I are looking at price comparisons between two sites and have some questions about your contracts and room blocks. Any advice or information that you can share about your own experiences (the good, bad and the ugly) would be greatly appreciated! 1. How long prior to your wedding date did you sign your contract with the resort? 2. At the time of signing your contract, did you reserve a block of rooms? 3. How many rooms do you typically block and if you need more, is the resort accommodating to adding more to your block? 4. How much money did you have to put down per room? 5. If a lower rate was offered later in the year after you had already blocked the rooms at a certain price, did your contracts have clauses that required the hotel to offer you the discounted price even for those rooms that had been reserved at the higher price? If so, how are you notified of that lower price or do you need to be vigilant and frequently checking the hotel's prices for any drop in rates? 6. What time of year do you get the best rates for January - March in Mexico? That is high season for travel so I am wondering when you would luck out the most with lower prices. Thank you ladies! I appreciate any feedback you can provide as I am needing some advice to help make this decision! I am ready to pull out my hair with this whole thing!

Jwed12, your dress is gorgeous and fun - exactly what a DW is all about! It is perfect for the beach and if you love it, then that means it is the one. Don't let someone else's opinion change your mind. If you felt pretty and happy in it, then you chose the right dress for you!

Oneeleven, scroll through this thread as there are tons of updated photos of gazebos. If you find one that interests you, go to that resorts website as they will likely have more photos for you to view. Trip Advisor will have photos of them as well.

You all have lovely choices. I am enjoying going through magazines to find my colors and inspiration for ways to incorporate them into the wedding. So excited!

Yes, Barcelo is nice. But I really love Ceiba so I will wait to hear back from our TA before ruling it out entirely. It would break my heart to not be married at Ceiba.

Our second choice is Barcelo Maya. It is ideal in the respect that people can choose the less expensive hotels if they desire. We will see.

They were per room with a two person occupancy. The European Plan is cheaper, however, our guests will want all-inclusive. I am very frustrated and disappointed. I think I will have to look at our second choice as our only choice now.

The rates that Diana gave me were over $400 per night for the lowest price room which come to just under $3000. I asked Diana if we received a discounted price and she told me that that was the discounted price. I can't have my guests pay that much. I am trying to find a way to make it work but that is outrageous.

Yes I was checking the dates that we will be there. Don't get me wrong, I love Ceiba but I really can't ask my guests to spend close to $3000 for airfare and hotel for our wedding. That is way more than I want them to pay.

Has anyone gotten any prices back on room rates? The rates they are quoting me are much higher than what I am finding with online travel sites and they match the rates I see when I go to ceiba's website to check rates there. I am not seeing a discount...

Ok so I am not crazy. That makes me feel just a bit better! All of your gowns are gorgeous. I cannot wait to make a final decision on a dress but it is fun to try them on!
