    JBailey - if there is a Wal-Mart or something similar nearby where you can buy some items then you don't have to ship them or carry them down yourself. I know other brides have done this before with great success.

    We are still debating between Barcelo Maya Beach Resort and Ceiba Del Mar. My TA has not gotten back to me so I think I need to find a new one. The rates she was quoting me were higher than the ones we found online anyway so if you have a TA who is awesome, please send me their information as we want to make a decision soon!

    SChica, you should be able to get a list of local flowers and when they are in season from your WC at Moon Palace or if you are hiring an outside WC. Also, I know Tammy Host had a thread she started with Mexican flowers and their availability so you can do a search for that on here. Hope this helps.

    Avelyad, Kellygrrrl has a clear starfish and Joanne has a blue starfish. Just ask one of them to be placed on their list. Let them know when your wedding is as there needs to be time between weddings so that the starfish has time to be shipped from bride to bride.

    I have some photos and will post for you. The indoor reception areas do look similar to hotel ballrooms.

    Try on similar styles. What they look like in magazines and online on the models is not always what you find when you try them on. I planned on avoiding anything form-fitting like mermaid/trumpet/fit-and-flare but found that they look the most flattering on me. You never know until you try them on which will be the one. Good luck!

    LOL Sharon. I did the same thing. It is always business-related things so I need to figure out how to translate that into what I need for my wedding!

    Friends of ours got married at Sandos Playacar and it was free with the number of rooms that they booked. It had lots of restaurants (some required reservations but not all), lots of activities for adults and kids and a fairly large beach. It was near Playa del Carmen - about a 30 minute walk and 10 minute taxi ride. You can inquire there to see what they can offer you. Good luck!
