Starfish do you live in NY? Because you should be able to just go into any shop that sells Pronovias and they should be able to just tell you if you can order it to your requests. Unless of course you are wanting a trip to NY!

Thanks African Venus. Since I posted this, we have been working with a TA. We are going to reserve 10 rooms. We are going to have it added to the contract that if the rates drop, then the resort with honor the lower rates. What happened when your guests bailed out? Did your rates increase due to the fact that you were unable to fill all of the required rooms.

Sorry Chante. It is no fun when your WC doesn't get in touch with you. I don't have anything in the information they gave us that mentions the required number of days you need to be there and I cannot remember if they mentioned it during the site visit. Some resorts require 3 and I have seen others that require 4 days. When is your wedding?

Chante, we did a site visit at DRC and this is from the information they sent to us: The following list of legal requirements are needed only for legal marriage. The Dreams Riviera Cancun Wedding Coordinator must receive the following documents to begin the application for marriage in the Civil Registry Office. All documents must be translated into Spanish. Each item that is translated into Spanish will incur a $75 USD plus 11% tax. To be valid, translation must be done in Mexico. • Tourist Card - You will receive these upon arrival at Cancun Int’l Airport. • Bride & Groom Birth Certificates • Valid Passports • Blood tests must be taken in Mexico and must be taken no more than 14 days prior to ceremony to be valid. The blood will be tested for HIV, STD’s and blood type. A $300 USD + 11% tax, per couple, will apply for the Blood Test. • Four witnesses • A Legal Form must be completed with the names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupations and relationship to Bride and Groom. The wedding coordinator will provide couple with the form. • The Marriage Certificate must be sent through a validation process in order to make it legal outside of Mexico. There is a $200 USD + 11% tax charge to have the Marriage Certificate translated and may take up to 4 months. Once the document is apostilled and translated into English the wedding coordinator will send the document to the Bride and Groom’s home address. None of the above mentioned services are included in any of the Dreams Wedding Packages. Who is your wedding coordinator? Ana Garcia is the one who sent us the information. I would speak to her. Can you order the dress with a sweetheart neckline? Some designers will allow you to make those changes when ordering.

Have you asked your WC or checked the Moon Palace thread to see what other Moon Palace brides are doing or have done? I don't see why they wouldn't let you but I guess you never know what kinds of rules a resort may have....

We contacted the wedding coordinator directly at our resort and solidified our wedding date. I am not really sure why you cannot do the same??? Good luck!

Katiem2012 - you will find that dress. I started by just trying on everything. Then I narrowed it down to a certain style. Then I switched to an entirely different style. I looked for two months. You will find it!

Hi Sunshine! Has the resort given you a reason why they are reluctant to give you a specific date and time? You would think that since you are looking at 17 months away, that they would be pretty open. What dates are your guests booking for since you don't have a date?

Yeah, I have to agree. My FI likely would not search or look for me either! However, he was looking for some decorations on his own last Saturday!
