Hmmm, my guess is that even though the other guests are at a different resort, they are still traveling to attend your wedding and therefore should get something. You could maybe do a scaled down version of the bags, but I'm sure they would appreciate still be included just like the guests who are staying at the same resort at you.

erin I'm kind of like you, not really wanting to do the traditional stuff all the time. There are a few things that I caved to though because I know FI's parents will appreciate them (and considering all the problems we've had with them already, I'll do the small things to make them shut up at this point LOL!!!!!!). And good for you to get two bags packed and out already! That must feel SO good! I can't even imagine only being allowed to take a single bag each either!!! Every single one of our guests is allowed two bags each up to 40 or 50 lbs each! I'm still debating if we want to hand out our OOT bags ahead of time since I'm more worried that people might leave them behind. Actually it's not the bags I'd worry about but the mugs... maybe we'll just pack those ourselves. Haha gotta love my thinking out loud huh?! I will definitely be packing ahead of time and I've already started making little piles of things around the house. Once I get the OOT bags assembled, they go right into a suitcase at this point anyways, and my clothes are all being put into a single drawer to keep them tucked away. When I pack usually I would lay everything I WANT out on my bed and then only pack the things I NEED so that should cover most of it. Plus it's not like I'm going to be needing bikinis, shorts and tanks in the weather we've got here right now!

FS: Beautiful Calla Bouquets *PICS*
echo2_62 replied to edssbride09's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
OMG I wish I'd seen these before you scooped up the BM bouquets!! This would have been the perfect amount for our entire wedding party! Nice grab -
Ooh thanks Adrianne! Last night was crazy so I hadn't made it to the facebook page yet like I thought so this helps a lot! I'd have to agree with the comments about a real flower wilting. Plus if it's a little windy like it sounds to be at the gazebo, a silk flower would definitely hold up better than a real one. And I have to point out that as of today my ticker is now counting in DAYS and that has me very excited!!! It's just 26 days until we leave now and I'm trying to figure out the things that I'm missing on my to-do list! I feel like I should have a bunch but for whatever reason, I just don't - it's unnerving!

Sorry I'm not sure about the hair stuff though - my MOH and a BM are both hairstylists so it was never a consideration for me.

okay first I have to point out how much of a EEEEEKKK!! moment I just had when I noticed that both Tracy & Michele's tickers are now counting down in DAYS and not months anymore!!! How awesome does that look now!?! Good to hear that there was relatively little harm to your house and your stuff from the flooding. And definitely good that it wasn't any of your wedding stuff! That's awesome you found another bathing suit as well! I tried out one of my new ones in the hot tub this past weekend and it seems to pass. It's one that I can wear strapless for tanning when I need to but I doubt I'll do much swimming like that hahaha! The weird thing is, although I know that I'm totally preoccupied by wedding stuff, I don't think it's entirely sunk in for FI yet! He wanted to sit and watch a movie the other night but was complaining because every time we sit down I start doing wedding stuff. He said to me "why do you have to do it now, can't it be some other time?" and I just laughed asking when the heck am I supposed to do it, if not now... considering there are really only three "working" weekends left for us! What a BOY!

Erin - I'm happy to hear that you made it through your shower! Hooray! It must've been nice sitting and opening presents all day - we got one or two last week from FI's parents and I was bouncing on the bed about it! And your dress fitting well is even MORE exciting too! I know exactly what you mean by your description adding the halter strap and it's going to look amazing. One of the funny things I noticed at my dress fitting last week was that I've got a sweetheart neckline as well! Seriously I didn't even notice it when I bought the dress LOL! And you can't believe how envious I am that you're not only DONE your OOT bags but already handing them out! That's so amazing! I'm sure your guests have loved them already!

Dee/Janna - either of you have reviews up yet that I might've missed?!?!? Dee - I'll admit I'm eager to hear about the party hopper tour that you were planning, and if you remember prices and whether you booked through the resort or some place else?!? We don't have anything specific booked just yet so I'm trying to get this and one other day organized soon.

Michele what an awesome surprise!!!!! How great is your FI to help do all that work for you and the girls I can't quite imagine my fi being involved with something like that so way to go! I'm so sorry to hear that your basement flooded too! The city has had some bad problems here the last few years but this year we might get off the hook because of how little snow is still around. If it clears out before the spring rain starts then we should be okay I think. Did you have a lot of damage too? Was your basement finished or just full of stuff? I hope you can get it all taken care of quickly enough! You definitely DON'T need this extra stress right now! As for the bikini's - I think it's only an extra $5.99 to have everything shipped within 5 business days (or at least that is the CDN price) so you might be able to take advantage of that option to pick up some more in time for your trip? Plus I am fairly sure they've still got some of last seasons pieces on sale so you can probably get a wicked deal on your stuff too! FI's mom got me a super nice cover-up from their recent trip to Florida as my shower gift (even though I didn't have a shower teehee!) and its a super soft material so i honestly can't wait to use it!

Jenna - sounds like you had a great time at your bachelorette party too! I like the idea of being at a nice bar with personal service all night! I managed to make it though my entire day and evening this weekend and was up nearly 24hrs straight in the process! We went from paintball to hot tubbing to dinner then roller skating then the pub. My sister and the girls did an awesome job pulling it all off and we have TONS of pictures that I'll make sure to share! I was just too tired yesterday to get any posted from home. I'm nearly finished my favours now too, just have to find a box or tin for them to go in. One of the other girls had her planning thread posted with DIY magnets that I LOVED and they were actually really easy to do! Hehehe plus I also stole her idea of making little umbrellas and I'm using them as our place cards because I remembered that I've got a bunch of votive holders at home that aren't at all being used so I'm going to fill them with sand when we get down there! Shae's planning thread Aside from that I'm partway through putting all my OOT bags together - just without the bags themselves. I'm working on a last ditch attempt of getting a bag I really, really like and otherwise I'll be okay still to order my backup bag. I really didn't intend for these to be last minute but oh well! And now I totally lost my train of thought LOL!! Tracy - I hope you feel a bit better now and yes, thank goodness you weren't back in the hospital again this time around! Hopefully you can be a bit more productive this week to finish off the last of your list!

BC / Vancouver / Canadian brides - help!
echo2_62 replied to mlabbe's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Two things for Alberta - you need to go with FI and get a marriage license which takes about 10-15min at the registry Marriage License Info and then you need to find a marriage commissioner that is in your area who you would like to have perform the 'ceremony' for you Getting Married & commmissioner info - you could also have someone from a church do it but if you don't go somewhere already it can be a little bit tricky. -
What about a digital picture frame?? That's what FI and I got for our three sets of grandparents this past Christmas. We figured that since they all live in condos then space was an issue, and at their age you can only expect the pictures on the walls to change so often LOL! Anyways we added a bunch of random pics onto memory cards for them, and they still have tons of room on the cards for us and the other grandkids to add more. I realize that particular detail isn't relevant but if you have a large enough card and start off with the wedding, you can still add other pics down the road! I'm thinking new house, baby, pets ... all the things that are part of your life! And with all that being said, I'm still stumped on something to get my dad (and I guess FI's dad as well). I have a couple ideas for my mom but my dad is so tricky!

Awww Cara that sucks!!! I'm glad to hear that, after everything else you've had to deal with lately, you were able to have someone fight on your behalf and work things out for you. I bet that despite all the stress it gave you a bit of a good feeling in the end. And I had no idea that Sunwing and Signature had been in the process of merging into one company in the first place!

Michele - I had the exact same concern with my dress because I also have the corset back and am planning to have the panel out of it. My dress place said they'd be doing the same thing - taking in the dress at the side seams - if it was too closed off for me. Try not to worry too much about the pictures if the dress wasn't quite right anyways! I know it's all part of the process but if you still have another fitting then use that time to get some good ones!! I also had my first fitting last weekend and it was a really sweet moment with my sister since she hadn't seen my dress at all yet, nevermind on me. Unfortunately a lot of that was ruined for me with everything going on with FI and our friends Yes, five days later and I'm still at a loss for what I'm supposed to do right now. This is really the most major moment where FI and I have completely and utterly had different opinions and couldn't find any sort of middle ground. I've always been a believer that many traits in people can easily boil down to boy vs. girl... and this scenario has been a horribly true example of just that. The guys think it was right, the girls think it was wrong. So here's what I'm working on accepting... four weeks before my wedding, I now know that I cannot trust my friends to make decisions on their own actions that involves myself or FI. how does that sound for hollow friendship?!? The guys (including FI) don't think the decision was wrong to go ahead with the things they planned just so they could get their own kicks out of it. And I personally find it extremely wrong that they believe this knowing it was going to cause problems and hurt someone. What a time to realize that huh? I'm supposed to get the GM's their pants this weekend and expect to carry on with all my planning and honestly, I don't want to see or talk to any of them right now. This bloody sucks.

oh yah, I know this had come up a while back but I can't find which post # now.... we've received the odd wedding gift already and I'm not sure if we should send out thank-you's NOW or wait until later?! The only reason I wanted to wait is so that I can order thankyou cards with a wedding picture on it... don't know what to do!!

hehe I bought a bandeau top for the same reason and seriously they do NOT suit my body type LOL! I have a fairly long torso and when I wear a bikini top like that with regular bikini bottoms, I look so awkward since there is just so little covering my body! I mean, I realize that is the point of bikinis but typically i would wear a halter style and prefer something closer to boy-cut bottoms than anything! Eek! Plus it's kind of weird since my parents will be there and I'm not used to just strutting around with nothing but my bikini on.... nevermind that FI gets grabby when that's all I'm wearing and it'll be kinda difficult being inconspicuous about heading back to our room in the middle of the day for some "fun" if you know what I mean! Okay i know its our wedding and everything but I haven't lived anywhere near my parents for 10 years so it's a little strange...

Well my first comment is that thankfully Walmart does have bathing suits pretty much year round now and they aren't a bad price either woohoo!! Second - you only take four bathing suits with you?!?! LOL! I probably won't have less than 8-10 suits when I go away Plus I've collected a few new cover-ups to take with me as well so I'm very excited to show it all off!! Don't get me wrong, I'm not ecstatic to be strutting around in my bikini all the time or anything - I'm as self-conscious as the next girl - but every woman loves to have new clothes to show off!! Good to hear that your paperwork finally made it down there. I'd definitely have been panicking and working on the overnight express situation like you were starting to. Thankfully you got to stop early in the process and it never hurts to have an extra copy of your birth certificate around just in case.

If the whiteboard is being passed around, would the quality of a disposable camera be sufficient? That way you wouldn't have to worry where the photog was at any given time. You could tape a note to the back of the whiteboard saying that when one camera was used up, please deposit it in _X_ location and pick up a new one there too!?! Otherwise, I'd be heading out to walmart and buying a kids digital camera. They're reasonably priced, come in all sorts of fun colours and are usually a little more durable since they're meant for kids anyways which means you wouldn't have to worry quite as much about how the camera is being handled by so many guests. I'm pretty sure you can get them done online through Walmart or Costco actually!! Either that or Vistaprint would let you upload your own photo for that kind of thing I'm sure. Dee - how far in advance did you order your flowers by the way? I was never really decided what I wanted to do but the prices at wedideas.com looked pretty reasonable although I've likely left it much to late now.

You girls are so incredibly wonderful for all the support!! Mel & jenna I think you girls had it bang on with your comments and it's all so true. This has been one of the hugest emotional roller coasters ever and I know that's putting a big strain on FI and I. He just doesn't get how one minute I'm screaming and crying and freaking out, then a while later I'm calm and laughing. I don't understand either but I think my brain and body can only process so much at a time so it comes in waves. I talked to my BM last night and for as much as I can believe her, it sounds like while she knew they were planning something, she didn't know exactly what. She also hadn't realized that I'd specifically told them guys not to get FI a lap dance so she could see why I was so upset that they had. These kind of things don't bother her so she never even considered they would bother me, and at the least she apologized for not having been more considerate of my feelings, being both my friend and bridesmaid she should have known better. It's about all I can ask from her right now so at least I have one small battle to move on from. FI said yesterday that he would handle the guys and make sure they knew they had crossed a line but when I asked him after the gym (and I kind of knew this was coming) about the conversation he had with one of the guys, it blew up in my face a bit because he didn't say as much as I thought he would have and thought I was prying and digging more than I needed to be. It also doesn't help that this friend thought I confessed all the details to HIS girlfriend - which I most definitely did not - and she was getting suspicious and getting him in trouble when he wasn't before. His gf knew I was upset yesterday and I simply told her that I was having troubles dealing with some things from the weekend but that they were my issues involving FI to deal with and if she wasn't concerned before then she didn't need to be now. I'm not the girl who goes and blows the whistle to all the other girls in a situation like this. Finally last night I wrote an email to the guys who I felt were mostly responsible for all of this and word for word explained the things I was upset about and why it hurt me so much for them to do what they did. So now all I can do is wait and see how they react to it and move on from there. Hopefully I get some resolution out of this soon. And YES!!!!!!!!! Suzy is coming to my bachelorette party and it is going to ROCK!! We've got about 10-12 girls lined up now I think and now its just hoping that the weather holds out for us during the day for paint ball! Maybe getting right drunk and puking all day Sunday will help me purge all this stress from my system

The short story of the bachelors weekend - I made one request of the guys ahead of time = NO ONE IN FI'S PERSONAL SPACE. I tried to be nice about that which may have been my downfall. The guys had a ski chalet rented and for some reason thought I would be okay with it if they paid for a private stripper to come in, serve drinks and give FI a lap dance. Clearly you can all guess how I reacted. FI has been excellent and told me everything as soon as he got home. Obviously he had no idea what they were planning either or he'd have taken more care to make sure they didn't do something like this. So now I'm furious with the guys who planned it, knowing full well ahead of time that I didn't approve, and they don't seem to think they did anything wrong in the first place. Plus, each of them has told their significant others varying degrees of details which leaves me struggling because these other girls are my friends too. Basically we're on the brink of WW3 over here and somehow it will end up being my fault I'm sure. P.s. for those of you who remember my ranting about the BM and her husband who were both laughing at me for being upset at not knowing the details of his weekend ahead of time? Well the husband was one of the guys who planned the private stripper (and rumor has it the one who booked her) and we are fairly confident the BM knew from the start. Is anyone else surprised that I want her out of my wedding party?? Onwards... I'm am really excited for roller skating and paint ball. I always thought it was so unfair that the guys got to do fun stuff like this and it never seemed to be the girls. I think we have at least 10 or 12 girls for the entire day/evening. Should be interesting too since I fully plan on drinking and saying whatever the hell comes to mind - and I'm not going to care who's girlfriends are listening either!
