  1. I am changing! Im having a very simple light long white dress and I dont want it to get ruined at the disco. I'm buying a short white cocktail dress and leaving my head peice on! I'll also be wearing blue heels that I'll be able to show off with the shorter dress. If you have a veil thats not too long you could leave it on so you still look like the bride ;-)
  2. That review was a little discouraging but I have stayed at Dreams before and maybe we were lucky not to run into any bad rooms, my sisters wedding suite was beautiful, and both our rooms were very nice! Our rooms were located on the right side of the pool...so maybe thats the newer side who knows. Don't be discouraged ladies and stay off TRIPADVISOR! People only go on their to complain. Happy New Year!

(which i saved when we got engaged, hee hee) We're giving the groomsmen engraved hip flasks (I'm Scottish so it's a nice traditional touch) along with wolf pack t-shirts (re: the hangover movie). And the bridemaids and grooms sister (she's doing a reading) so far have make up bags embroidered with their names....and they need to be filled!! We're still stuck with what to give both sets of parents...sheesh ... so much to think about! hth Jocy! I must find out where you founf wolf pack t-shirts! thats his groomsmen to a T! hahaha it'd be a great gift!
  4. Im wondering the same thing also! We just sent out the save the dates and noone has even responded to our online RSVP yet and Im just waay to anxious! The whoe lpoint of sending out the save the dates was so I could eliminate who I needed to send out invitations to. Well I'm starting to make my invitations now so I figure I will send them as soon as their finished expecially because its a destination wedding and people need a lot of notice to save money, book flights, passport ect.. Im getting married Octobr 2010. Save the dates sent our 10 months prior. Soo, invitations I'll send out 8 months I'm thinking should be good.
  5. So heres my quick fix! They got it right on christmas too! So I guess it worked out perefectly! I downloaded the image from bigstockphoto.com , then made a card at walgreens.com that I picked up later that day!
  6. i actually found this really cute photo on google of a starfish on the beach with a santa hat and sunglasses, so it will be like a christmas card! I'll post the pictures when I finish!
  7. Yeah i was thinking i could send a simple follow up. But I dont know what I should have it say.....obviously the right address ;-) I only have a few email addresses so that one is out. I just sent my save the dates last week ughhh!

  11. Omg i have had alot to catch up on! I was rushing to the last pages to see what the WC's responses were! I'm going wiht the Ultimate package but I'm still a little confused ladies. Basically, is it just the dinner packages that have gone up for 2010?
  12. I'm confused. Deyanira told me cocktails are included in my pricing package. Hmmmm.......
  13. I bought a bottle of the bark at a souvenier shop at the Santa Domingo airport and had no problem with it. If its that big of a deal you can just by huge party packs of it online and then brew it at home.
  14. Remember why your getting married there ladies! For the simplicity & natural beauty of it all! Don't worry about all the frills your packing with your stuff, the resort will be beautiful enough ;-) Happy Thanksgiving & happy planning!!
  15. yea i think ill use them for the AHR too! so i can just get them there instead of going through the hassle of making it myself! That way guests who didnt come can have something from the DR!
  16. Hey Ladies! So if you've researched or been to the dominican at all, you'd know about their famous drink Mamajuana! As part of the gifts I want to include @ my reception I want to make tiny bottles of Mamajuana. Has anyone done this, or know where I can get quality prepared ingredients for it? I found this website: RealMamajuana.com for Real Dominican Mamajuana I think it would be a fun gift to make for our guests and I haven't heard of anyone doing this on the board yet! I think I'll order a bag and buy small bottles to fill it with and include the brewing guide.

I received an initial response from appleton about a week and a half ago but haven't heard anything since. I'm starting to think that this isn't going to get accomplished as easily as i had originally thought. My second choice was a cookie bar. Nothing very tropical about it but....whatever. bevmo.com! $2.99
  19. I really want to make custom shot glasses but sites I've seen them at are too expensive! So I was thinking of just buying the shot glasses and then adding stickers to them. So, does anyone know of a good website to make clear stickers/labels or have any idea's on how to make them myself?? Thanks for all your help ladies!
  20. Just bring the same guestbook from your wedding to the AHR but you can add photos to it that each guest took while at your DW! Then the guests who weren't there can see more pictures and the guests who already signed a guestbook at your wedding don't have to sign another one.
