Wow Veronica everything looks AAAAmazing!!! What an awesome planning thread! I can't believe how organized you are... I need to start working on mine! hehe I've never seen those bloom boxes before, what a great idea for a destination wedding!! I hope you have a beautiful wedding! I'm sure I'll meet you eventually since we'll be a DT at the same time! Good luck!!

Hey I can add my 2 cents about tanning! I get mystic tan and also versaspa tans pretty often. They look really natural, non streaking and never rub off on clothes. HOWEVER, the chlorine and salt water makes them fade and come off in a really gross patchy way! I find it gets really patchy around groin area, armpits, neck... not good! I would only recommend spray tan if you plan on staying out of the water until your wedding day! I HATE tanning beds because skin cancer freaks me out, but I think I'm going to tan for the month before hand...

Glad you had such an awesome experience!!! I can't wait to read your review! Would you say the end of the relax pool would be more or less windy than a beach reception?? I'm sure the wind is inevitable, unless you are indoors! I just really want my candles to stay lit! hehe Thanks for the awesome review!! Helps me relax about my wedding coming up in May!!

Wow Rose you are aaamazing!! I love all your DIYs!!! I made very similar luminarias! I saw them on etsy and decided I could make them for cheaper! hehe Are you concerned about them blowing over the in wind? I'm trying to think of a way to make them more stable! Either a highball glass or a wineglass inside should work well. Or cheap clear plastic cups with sand in the bottom

Custom Linen Suits $99!
pineapplebride replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
What shirts did you buy? We bought FIs suit from studio suits, but now I'm looking for a shirt for him and I'm wishing I had just ordered a linen shirt from them at the same time! Is the linen shirt really see-through?? -
I'm bringing about 30 lanterns with me. I think it is just a matter of preference on how many you want. You can ask them just to hang the lanterns you have over the tables, and that would look really good! If you look at starlitk's reception set up, she had the lanterns covering a really large area and she had a lot more tables. What are you doing for centerpieces? You could incorporate candles to add extra lighting. Or, if you are doing floral centerpieces you can add a floralyte in each vase to add light. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Doffice-products&field-keywords=floralyte&x=0&y=0 I wouldn't panic about the lighting situation though, they do so many weddings they must have it figured out! I really have no clue about getting starfish once you are there. I like the idea of lining the aisle with them though, I was thinking of doing something similar because the flowers are expensive! Can you please please please post pics of your reception at the relax pool after you get back! I would love to see it because there aren't many pictures!!

I definitely would recommend studio suits! They have lots of different colors too...your FI should be able to find one he likes! I bought my dress at Sposa Wedding World in Newwest and they have an in house seamstress that will do all my alterations. Alterations are expensive...I was shocked!! I'm going to wait another month to get it taken in though because I've been hitting the gym HARD! It was so good to see my dress though... I'm even more in love with it now than I was when I bought it last summer!!

Hey Veronica I originally bought the self laminating luggage tags from amazon... but i wasn't happy with them A) i didnt have a laminator...and it would be a hassle finding one to use i would have to write everyones names, address etc before laminating them C) they were super flimsy. I ended up returning them. I bought these... http://www.amazon.com/Advantus-75450-Proximity-holders-horizontal/dp/B00078A00A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1298675802&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Strap-Luggage-Tag-100/dp/B001IZMK40/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1298675851&sr=1-1

I had the same thing happen to me! I was planning my reception at the dolphin pool, but turns out another bride had chosen it before me. I'm having my reception at the relax pool now too. I'm not too worried about the lighting situation. I hear there is a big spot light, and I'm planning on bringing paper lanterns and luminaries with me to help light it up a bit. You could also get the under table lighting which would be really nice. I figure you would have the same lighting issues at the relax pool as you would for a beach reception. starlitK was a DT bride who had her reception at the relax pool and it looked great. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/45414/starlitk-s-planning-thread I'm planning on doing 2 long rectangle tables for my reception, instead of a bunch of round tables. I think the relax pool will look really nice with long tables because of the long pool deck!

I bought my raffia fans through oriental trading! Very inexpensive! I ended up buying satin ribbon in fuchsia and orange and I'm going to start wrapping them this weekend! I still don't know how much ribbon I'll need.... I just finished my luggage tags!! My sand ceremony set just arrived. http://www.amazon.com/Personalized-Unity-Ceremony-Contempo-Style/dp/B003EG3SOM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1298588704&sr=8-3 I highly recommend them! I got them personalized and they still shipped in less than 3 days from when I ordered! We still need to buy the sand though! We finally picked FI's ring: http://www.titaniumkay.com/Tungsten-Carbide-8mm-Brushed-Dome-Wedding-Band-Ring-P104048.html He loves it, I keep catching him trying it on and looking at himself in the mirror (he'd kill me if he ever read this) FI's suit arrived from studiosuits. We ordered it in tropical beige and absolutely LOVE it!!! Now we just need to find him a shirt! I have my first dress fitting tonight!!! My mom and best friend are coming with me! I still haven't picked my shoes yet... well I've actually bought 3 different pairs I just haven't decided which ones, if any of them I want to wear for my wedding day. I have designed my ceremony programs and reception menus and mint matchbooks (thanks rosie) I'm just so sick of cutting stuff with my fiskar paper cutter that I've taken a break. I think I'll take the rest to my friends work (she's an elementary school teacher) and use their big slicer paper cutter to save time and sanity!! And for the most exciting wedding planning news... We have booked our HONEYMOON!! After the wedding week, we're going to head to the island of Cozumel staying at a cute little oceanfront hotel for a week of scuba diving and relaxation!! We're both avid scuba divers and the proximity to the barrier reef is the main reason we chose the riviera maya for our wedding!! Yay! Its been a productive wedding week!!

I was going to say this exact same thing! I think it is best to bring it down with you, I've heard too many stories of stuff getting stuck at customs for months or just getting lost! Is anyone doing raffia fans with the handles covered in ribbon?? I'm just starting this project but I don't know what type of ribbon would be best to use. The satin ribbon is so expensive... and I'm not sure how much I will need! Any advice??

sash sharing (freecycle)
pineapplebride replied to jaynreneewed's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
How did I miss this thread?? I was just getting ready to order sashes too.. I'm looking for 15 fuschia and 15 orange organza sashes! Anyone?? I'll pass them on after too!! -
I'm also Canadian! Our group rate is through signature/sunwing and they also have the every 16th trip free. The Dreams promotion is SO much better... every 6th trip free. I hounded my travel agent though to get the Dreams promotion and we finally got them to agree. The details for us is it is a maximum of 4 free trips (2 rooms). We are able to split the free trips among all our guests too, which will be about a $200 saving per person! The travel agent will cut all our guests who booked through our group rate a check 2 weeks before we leave!

Omg I had almost identical cards made for luggage tags! Wish I had known this before we totally could have split the cost!!! PS your dress is beautiful!!!

Custom Linen Suits $99!
pineapplebride replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
FI's suit just arrived!!! it is PERFECT!! The fabric is amazing quality. The stitching is flawless. It fits perfect! I honestly could not be happier!! It even came with a suit cover. And I think it took less than 2 weeks from when I ordered to when I received it (I live in BC Canada). I'll try to get him to try it on again and I'll take some pictures!! Yay!! I highly recommend them!
