  1. I'm so happy that everything worked out well for you! I got stressed just reading the first part of your story - you must have been furious! Great to see your good karma coming back to you!
  2. they are so beautiful! you must be stoked... your ttd session just looked like so much fun!
  3. I think suggesting styles to her would be a good idea. If you stress that want her to be in the right colour it will be highly unlikely that she will be able to find anything in a thrift store. Just keep telling her how much it means to you to have her look like part of the bridal party...
  4. Thanks for the Link DDG - check it out, there are some great pendants on there! even blue glass starfish if you want to go that way!
  5. OMG Kate.com that is a very sexy photo! That colouring and pushed up against the rocks! What an amazing photo!! seriously impressed by all the sexy BDW brides!
  6. I love the idea of starfish necklaces - but if you want something a little different you could also look into a venetian glass pendant... They do them in so many wonderful colurs and shapes these days and they look really spectacular on... Little searching (please note that I have never used this vendor or know anything about them - i just found them on google) stylish venetian glass pendant 44 cts rn 1242 That one even uses the blue and chocolate... anyway, just an idea for something a little different
  7. Thats sounds great for an AHR We were thinking or renting a room at our local club and just doing finger food and drinks about a month after the wedding... But I think I like your idea much better! A BBQ is a great idea, and a great atmosphere...
  8. I have to agree with the other girls - go with what suits you best - and that sounds like the silver. I'm sure you already know - but just in case - be careful about size as UK shoe size is different from Australia and US. I lived in London for three years and Monsoon was one of my absolute favorite shops - their womens dresses are stunning - but again caution about sizing - I am a US 14/16 but Australian and UK 18, and even then I thought the Monsoon cuts were a little on the small size...
  9. sorry your having such a bad run It seems so unfair, especially since you should be happy about your new job. Your behind for now, but the job is still going so it wont take you long to get back on top. Every little crappy thing now will make you appreciate your wedding and honeymoon that little bit more...
  10. Karen - I know Even my FI's female friends have been nothing but supportive... I guess maybe being female people have a picture in their head of the way the way thay always pictured you getting married?? I'm hoping that in time everyone will get on board - and originally we weren't doing an AHR and now we are, so hopefully people will put up or shut up
  11. I agree with the other girls - I think a post card about the destination is a really cute idea - get them excited!
  12. That sounds great - I really dont understand why people are offended about asking for cash or vouchers - I can't wait until our generation is that age - it will eliminate this problem for brides! I think its cleverly hints at cash, without spelling it out - well done!
  13. Mine is the opposite - I am sooo excited for my wedding and my ticker just makes it seem F-O-R-E-V-E-R away! 400 and something days is waaay too long... But I guess I would prefer that to the panic when it gets close
  14. We had the same thing, mixed but mostly positive reactions from his friends and family, but mine were negative. We let eveyone know almost 12 months ago that we were having a destination wedding, and gave them 22 months notice with the save the dates. I think its one of the big things you have to decide before you choose a destination wedding - that if it ends up just being the two of you on a beach getting married - then thats OK. That was our starting point, so anything from there is a bonus. I know that there will be people that are dissapointed becasue they can't /won't come, but at the end of the day, the wedding is not for them!
  15. congrats! Happy planning - oct 09 - not long for you!!
  16. oh my god, your dress is stunning i think its really hard to say if you are going to be too hot or not - it totally depends on the day... I know in fiji if it rains that morning im going to be screwed no matter what im wearing as the humidity will kill me. I think you ill be having to much fun to even notice... also look at the time of your ceremony. You may want to push the time back to later in the afternoon if you are worried about being too hot...?
  17. everything looks so amazing! I Looooove your dress! and we have really really similar engagement rings the dual bands look great
  18. we gave people almost two years notice - TWO YEARS - and still had all the same things my auty - "but if your cousin goes to uni, that could be his exam period" his uncle - if the team i coach made the footy finals, thats in footy season" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!
