    Wow ladies...we had a similiar bad experience with my friends wedding alterations. The steamstress was so rude, she had made our dresses and she claimed that the girls had gained weight when we went for our fittings. The dresses didn't fit because her measurements were off! To top it all of she was my friends future MIL...unbelieveable! We just had to laugh through it!

    We are thinking of engraved stainless beer steins for the guys! Nice gifts that they will be able to use and cherish for years!

    One of my BM's who was married a couple years ago had the hairstylist come to our hotel room and it was great! We could hang around in our sweats and chillout rather than having to be out and about! We'll be using the salon at the hotel but if you have the option...it might be nice to have them come to you!

    My FI's shirt is white and he will be wearing beige pants and my dress is Ivory. I think that it will look fine and be a nice contrast...now you ladies have me thinking. I think we'll go with ivory shirts for the GM's that will compliment my girls pink and coral dresses! Isn't it funny how we stress about the little things?

    Wow...interesting and heated responses ladies! First off...I hope that you had a wonderful wedding day and can't wait to see the pictures. Secondly, I know that you try to have complimentry colours with you families but I haven't been to a single wedding where the exact colour was worn. My families definately will be complimentry but not matchy matchy. Finally, so what if Michelle wanted to bash her MIL, everyone needs to sometimes! I can relate to her frustrations! Let's all try to take a breath and relax a little...think about white sand beaches and turquoise ocean water!

    Wow...great choice...that's my dress too! I can't wait for it to come in in my size! We'll be dress twins! I think we're the only two on the forum who chose this dress! Which colour did you get? Think it's absolutley perfect for a wedding away I'm sure it will be gorgeous on you!

    We're thinking of a Catamaran Half Day trip for everyone but other than that most likely just welcome drinks in the lobby bar! I know we'll have lots of time to spend together but also know that a lot of people of taking this as a vacation for themselves! No need to overschedule! I might include on the internary optional morning walks, pool bar meeting, etc. Just to be fun but not to be too serious about it all!

    I actually think that showers are a nice opportunity for those not invited to the wedding to celebrate you! I had a bit of guilt when my mom told me that a few friends wanted to throw us showers but people really want to celebrate so it's hard to tell them not too! As for the guest list for showers, I think it's nice to include those that can't make the DW!

    There is a Tommy Bahama outlet store at Vaughn Mills Shopping Centre near Toronto! Not sure if you have any relatives on the mainland that could pick some shirts up for you! We found my Groom's shirt in the states and hope to find the GM's shirts when we go to South Carolina in March! HAPPY HUNTING!

    I too am interested in this! I recieved an email from La Barcaza last night about their cruises...seems pretty resonable! We want to take all our guests a couple days before the wedding on a trip. A friend of mine has worked in DR and is helping me with some contacts for the catamaran trips...apparently the island is not to be missed! I'll provide the contacts once I get them!

    Oh...the reception only goes till 10:30pm but the discos and others bars serve alcohol all night! PARTY! Our plan is just to move the reception to the disco! Do all the speeches and first dances at the reception then take the party on the road.

    We're getting married here in July of 2010! So far I've loved the quick communication with the wedding coordinator! I find she is very helpful at clairifying my questions! I'm getting really pumped and excited! Right now, we're looking into an excursion for our whole group, making music choices, ordering wedding bands and trying to determine what centrepieces and decorations are included in our package...we got the Blissful love one! Would love to talk with our brides at the GBP!

    Looks like you had a super time! I guess going into a destination wedding it's important to keep in mind that not everything will go picture perfect but it is the significance of the day and joining in union with family and friends that is the important part! CONGRATS!
