So VISTA comes through again! Love them! With the promotional email and some other coupons I ordered the brochures and folded note cards for our wedding. The plan is to send the brochures 2 months before we leave and the cards will be used for shower gifts! The brochures were $10 and the thank you cards were a bit more...for 50 it was $60 (not bad considering all the deals we've been getting!) Thanks to others for posting their brochures! Too many to thank but you know who you are Front of Card Inside of Card If anyone wants close up pictures of the brochures...just PM me!

I ended up shopping at a few places but ended up ordering my dress through BRIDAL AND BEYOND. They have a few stores in the GTA. I went to the one in Mississauga. They have a lot of Maggie Sottero dresses which are beautiful for Destination Weddings! They have favours, you can book travel and they even said they had dresses. I haven't been there yet but you might want to check it out. I love hearing that people didn't get charged for the extras...I think they do it so that they can get a few suckers to pay. I remember the bargaining that we had to do while shopping the Dominican! Everything is negotiable! They tell you one price and if you stand there and chat long enough you can get it for a fraction of the first quoted price! Nice to hear all the positives comments about the resort lately. Seems like they have the wedding thing under control!

We did together with our parents as well...here's a picture of how they turned out! Much to complicated to start listing multiple couples as my FI's parents are divorced and have both found other life partners. Make sure to post pictures once you make a decision!

Hello There...we're wedding week twins! My FI and I are getting married on the Punta Cana side of the Gran Bahia the same week! Our wedding date is the 7th! We did end up going with the private reception and we choose the Garden Grill Restaurant...apparently it's the nicest! Others have said that the chicken was a good one to choose and everyone loved it! Enjoy the site...there is so much information here...you'll find everything you need to make it the wedding of your dreams! What time has your ceremony been scheduled for? I feel your awkwardness...I wasn't really big on having a shower considering the costs that all are incurring in coming to the DR but my family and my mom has tons of friends and they all want to be a part of my wedding. It was a little uncomfortable at first but I am so flattered that all of these friends want to be a part of our special day, even though they aren't coming and for some even though they weren't invited. As of now three showers have been planned. One friends and downtown people, one ladies from my old neighbourhood and one will be a his and hers shower for both my FI and I. I am super excited for the His and Hers shower because everyone that will be there is going to the wedding! Kind of like a pre-departure Party! I've told all of by BM's and my MOH that they SHOULD NOT GET ANY GIFTS FOR ANY OF THE SHOWERS! Hopefully they'll listen!

Good point about practicing before hand...wouldn't that be special to not have enough sand to fill the frame?! A small detail but one that could get missed!

So I officially have a date for the shoot...March 27th! I'm excited to start shopping and are super pumped about the location. The marathon is being held at the Gladstone hotel in Toronto. It's rooms have all be designed by artists! Super Cool!

I was thinking the same thing about trip advisor just the other day. Our resort always has a mixed bag of reviews but I believe someone wrote before...the majority of the people that do trip advisor or rate the hotels are those that had bad experiences. We all have the power to create our own positive expereinces and I will not let a late check-in or someone not serving me first result in a "horrible, worst experience ever" kind of trip. We are heading to countries that don't have as much as ours...have a little patience and enjoy the surroundings! Thanks for posting this and for all the other positivity out there! I love optimism and the power of positive thoughts!

Wow...sorry that you had so many troubles getting everyone organized. I'm a little scared now about our resort becuase one of the famillies that I teach just came back from a vacation at our resort, not a wedding mind you. She complained that they had difficulties with room check in and some people getting better rooms...I'm hoping that beacuse we have some fluent spanish speakers coming with us and because everyone will be linked to the wedding that this won't happen. I can imagine that it's hard hearing everyones complaints! Definitely like what Lisa said though...no matter the weather, rooms, or problems with flights you were married in a paradise! Congrats!

We will be doing our first dance...a rock the reception medley right away as we are introduced for one main reason which is we want to get it over with early on so we can enjoy dinner without worrying about forgetting our moves. I want to be able to have some drinks! : We'll be doing the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance after dinner! I'd say no need for a dance floor...just kick your shoes off and enjoy the sand!
