Pacific: your wedding looks just lovely despite the rain. Were you satisfied with the alternate arrangements? We you doing a beach reception before? We chose Mint Breeze, so the reception was the going to be inside anyway! We were hoping for the wedding to be outside, but it was just inside of the gazebo, and our guests still had a great view! We didn't let the rain get us down at all! Future Mrs.D was supposed to be outside, so she'd be a good person to ask about whether or not she was disappointed. Her reception was right next to ours, and when we saw each other in the restroom, we were both having a blast at our receptions, so I think it worked out fine!!! Thanks for the nice words about our pictures!

I was married on April 14, 2010. I always liked reading about other people's experiences on here, so I thought I'd share mine. First of all....like others have said, don't stress, your wedding will be great! Hotel: Originally we were told that all of our guests would be in the same building...but that wasn't the case. Luckily it didn't matter, we all set up times to meet, and ran into each other...so don't worry if that happens to you. All of our guests were staying at the Palace. The hotel was beautiful, food was great, and everyone had a great time! Coordinator: I had been communicating with Gabriela by email before we arrived, and Karen was our coordinator there. Karen was fabulous. She did her best to get us our perfect wedding. She was very nice, and super helpful. She was able to get us all into the Brazillian restaurant for the night before our wedding too...which was nice. The wedding: It POURED rain on our wedding day. I wasn't too stressed about it, and I'm happy I wasn't. We had the ceremony inside by the gazebo, and everyone still thought it was beautiful. We got some great pictures too! The reception was inside, we had the mint breeze package anyway, so that was fine! It was nice, and we had lots of fun. The food was fabulous. The flowers were PERFECT, I loved them so much. The cake was nice and simple. Our reception room was decorated exactly how I had asked! We used an Ipod for the music and danced like crazy. It was soooo much fun! Karen said I was one of the most laid-back brides she'd met...I didn't have schedules or anything, we just went with the flow, and it worked for us. The photographer. We had chosen Cecilia Dumas and she was amazing at writing back to us via email before the wedding. We booked her and her assistant a room for the night of the wedding, and we had no problems with doing that. Unfortunately, two days before our wedding, Cecilia had a family emergency and had to fly to Argentina. She called us, and we spoke to her while she was at the airport. She set up another photographer for us named Alberto Alvana from Cancun weddings Cancun Wedding Photography We felt so bad for poor Cecilia. Anyway, Alberto was fabulous. He took so many beautiful pictures, and even laid down in the water to get some good shots. He took pictures for several hours on our wedding day, and the next day we had him for the TTD. We ended up just taking pictures in the sun the next day, and didn't really trash my dress at all. I am soooooo happy with our pictures. Cecilia ended up editing them for us so that she was still a part of it since we hired her. I would recommend either of these photographers to anyone...I can't speak highly enough of them. It was a beautiful day, and an amazing vacation. I wish all of you very happy weddings too!!!

Awww...I wish I would've realized it was you, Natalie, I would've loved to chat with you while we were there! Our wedding was right after yours inside...too bad about all of the rain, but it was still beautiful! My mom loved, loved, loved your hair by the way! It looked beautiful! ps...sorry about the music, we didn't realize how much it was travelling We turned it down as soon as we were asked to.

Natalie!!!! I didn't realize it was you that I saw in the restroom on our wedding night!!! You looked absolutely stunning!! Your pictures are beautiful too...congratulations, what a great day to get married! I kept meaning to look for you while we were there, and it didn't occur to me that it was you in the restroom until I just saw your pictures!!! I'll post my review soon, and my pictures as well!

Congrats on your engagement, welcome to the boards! I haven't heard about that resort, but I hope you find what you're looking for on here!

Future Mrs. D......we're trying to decide b/w the mint and the strawberry...it's hard to decide when you're not there in person! Do you know what you're leaning toward? Our family and friends are booking now, so we're getting an idea of how many people will be there and I think that will help with our decision! Finzup, I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. Did you leave the original subject line on the email? (when Gabriela first emailed me, she told me to leave the same subject line for all correspondence) She's been answering within a couple of days when I do this (it took forever to get the initial email, eventually I called and Gabriela was quick to send an email after we spoke). Good Luck!! ....and vent anytime, it's understandable that you're frustrated!

I'm getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace on April 14, 2010....I specifically talked to Gabriella (our WC) about using an outside photographer, and she wrote me an email (so I have it in writing) saying that we can use one, but we have to book a room for the night so that the photographer is considered a guest to our wedding. I figure it is worth it, as photography is super important to us...so that's what we're doing. Hope this helps FutureMrs D....and if you'll be there the week of April 10, maybe I'll see you there!!!
