Does anyone know if the sand ceremony is available at DPC?

I got a rate this week from Sunwing to Dreams Punta Cana on June 29th, 2010 from Toronto for 1078 + tax, but we used their affiliate rate program. Our TA pulled some strings for us and now we get the early booking rate BUT our guests don't have to pay up until 45 days before... not to mention that he got our deposit down to $150.00 per person! Sometimes if you push with your TA, they "find" ways to do things for you... so find a good TA and don't let him or her go!! I know I am very lucky, because I was in the stressful situation last week of "do I book, can anyone actually afford 1500 before november... etc) so I can totally sympathize!! If he didn't have this deal, though we would have just waited to book.

I would start by looking through the Mexico and Islands threads and seeing what you like between them! Welcome and happy planning!!

you have to try to stay within your means... I mean its supposed to be a (generally) more cost effective option than a wedding at home. You should prioritize what is important to you to splurge on, like a nice dress or good photog, and save money on smaller things like save the dates and invitations by way of DIY. The location also plays a big role, because somewhere like Cuba is going to be easier on the wallet tha the Turks & Caicos... its all up to you, no amount is too much or too little!

We are having an AHR, mostly for our family and friends that couldn't go to the Dominican Republic... it always ends up being just like a reception if you had a wedding here, and you would have to be ready for that! But the more important part (the wedding) is going to be more intimate, the exact reason we are having a DW!

We are trying to match up how may groomsmen/bridesmaids we have, but its ot a make or break point! I don't have any brothers or sisters, so my two female cousins are like my sisters... so one of them (the older) is my MOH and the other is a bridesmaid... I have two friends as bridesmaid and FI's little sister as a bridesmaid as well (huge wedding party, I know!)

not yet, but like we have seen before, sometimes the judge comes later (or even the day after) to sign the papers... hey, whatever works!! I haven't heard back from the judge though, it seems like its taking FOREVER! Can anyone give me a time frame when they got their date confirmed by the judge? I know they are super busy, so it can take some time... I just want to know HOW long I should wait before I get concerned?

That makes me nervous about the dresses... I mean the worst part is you don't want to order them too small and feel pressurd to fit, but you don't want to have to alter the dress THAT much... hmmm definitely something to keep in mind! Thanks!

I agree with ebredhawk, the bubba keg is ESSENTIAL!! You minimize your trips to the bar, since they often hold more than the little glasses they gove you... not to mention they stay cold A LOT longer!!

I don't know what kind of time commitment it takes, since I am still really new on the board!! I would be willing to host Season 8 or something, once I am involved in a season and see how things are supposed to flow and whatnot. I would just be afraid to take on the endeavor and not be able to follow through due to lack of knowledge or experience! Someone please host, it is a benefit to everyone!!
