  1. Mrs - ~Angela~ I will have to think about a b2b!
  2. Change is usually for the better.... can't wait to see the new site and start learning how to use it!
  3. wow... I am so sympathetic about the turn-out disappointment. We invited 150, had 90 rsvp yes, and about 65 show up. Thankfully, we didn't invest too much money into it! The party will still rock (ours did) and you will have the people there who really WANT to be there! Drink 'till it's fun is a good motto... thats what I did! hahaha! As for your sister, you're right to stop investing ANY time in her childish behaviour. I would be beyond mad if I had a sister that acted like that. Girl, its HER loss, not yours!!
  4. wow, that is really sad! I remember one time i thought I lost it, but I had put it in an unusual place for "safe keeping"... it almost backfired! At least you have insurance, and like Carly said it may not replace the sentimental feeling, but at least the financial part is covered! I sure hope it turns up though!
  5. I just got the chance to go through your planning thread, since I finally returned from a 3 week wedding trip! I am sure your wedding was amazing, just like your planning thread
  6. ok so I'm pretty sure it's at work, which means I will not be able to get it until tomorrow. It is somewhere on this forum too, I got it from another bride personally though!
  7. I think I have one (checklist) kicking around ladies... let me see what I can do!
  8. I agree with what was said. I had ours in my checked bag, in it's original box and it was fine!
  9. Hey ladies!! It is my last day here at DPC and I don't want to gooo! I have been here for two weeks, and have had an amazing time! Deyanira was fantastic, and my god are they ever busy here, ALL THE TIME! I will answer to any questions you have, so post them here and/or send me an email [email protected] By the way, I got married on the beach! I am beyond happy with my choice, by the way. They did a good job of clearing out people that were too close, but it wasn't private for sure! I didn't even notice if people walked in behind us during the ceremony, I was too wrapped up in what was going on By the way, I HIGHLY recommend the huppah! Not only did it look WAY, WAY better, but while DH and his groomsmen were waiting for us to arrive they took shelter under the canopy from the sun. We had a minor misunderstanding about the decoration of the huppah... I told her orange flowers, and then realized that it was the decorations for $350... so I quickly corrected her. When I got to the beach, I had some decorations on the huppah and I thought ''oh no, what will this cost us now, or will we have to fight it'' but when we received our bill today, they only charged us $175. So I wonder if she made a compromise because she made the mistake? They put orange and white flower petals down just before I walked down the ''aisle'', which made my Daddy cry... haha Before I go, I should mention that La Barcaza was one of the best decisions we made the whole trip! We would have liked to have it for one more hour though, so if you have the extra $250 in your budget to add it on (if you do La Barcaza) then definitely do it. I look forward ot hearing from you ladies!
  10. I am getting ready to head to Toronto where we get our flight to Punta Cana tomorrow afternoon... SO EXCITED! Thank you ladies for all of your help an guidance, you are all amazing PS: Tam your mugs have been a huge hit!!!
  11. way to go ladies! I am clearly out of the running, I missed 2 weeks However, I am still weighing in this week! I weighed myself this morning, and I lost 2 pounds, not really sure how! Stress perhaps... I DO know that I have been putting cucumber slices inmy water since it decreases bloat, maybe that's why? Just an idea to try girls, it can't hurt, thats for sure!
  12. everything is looking great! I have to get moving on my planning thread!
  13. Faizon Love: The Replacements
  14. welcome back Toya, glad you had an amazing time! I can't wait to hear details, and also about AA... not flying with them on Monday but I'm intrigued!
  15. I'm pretty sure thee is no extra charge, but I would tell them there is an allergy or something just to be sure. I know they were going to allow us to change the main course for my FFIL, since he is allergic to shellfish! Good luck!
  16. Aw Eliana! I got all choked up watching that! She looked sooo beautiful! I CANNOT WAIT TO GO. Hahahaha
  17. Hermosa hoops - you can ask the wedding coordinator about having an earlier ceremony, and requesting for the judge to come after (or the next day) to sign all the official paperwork if you would like! krismac, could you email pictures to me too? I'm planning to get married on the beach as well [email protected] Thank you!! Legal day was quiet, relaxed, not a big deal! We didnt want it to be a big deal, so we exchanged rings at the courthouse and then put them back in the box afterward! Haha We had a champagne toast when we got home, but other than that we didn't do anything huge since noone but my mom knows lol!
  18. We are doing it pretty basic in a couple weeks... we didn't book a block of rooms, but rather negotiated a deal where the guests who wanted to book in our group had until a certain date to do so and take advantage of a good price. As well, since we found a great deal on the bridesmaid dresses and groomsman attire, they paid for it themselves. We made OOT bags, but found good deals where possible. When all is said and done, we will spend about $11,500- $12,000 which includes wedding ceremony, private reception, preferred club honeymoon suite for 2 weeks, all guest favors, invitations, save-the-dates, attendant gifts... everything! My parents are paying for the AHR, and that will cost about $1500-$2000 MAX.
  19. I thought I would update you all on the vase subject. I called Air Transport Security here in Canada, and he told me that as long as it is empty and is well packaged it CAN be brought on board. In fact, he said the recommend this, since it is a delicate item. My TA also confirmed this, and said that especially since we are a large wedding party there won't be an issue; they will put it through the xray scanner on its own to make sure there is nothing in it and that it is a vase, and that MAYBE they might ask us to unpack it from its bubble wrap. But other than that, they won't give us a hassle. WOO HOO!
  20. Hey! Just checked in here for a sec, didn't even see the winner page yet though! That's what I did Renee, if someone didn't send their weigh in or weight for that matter one week, they didn't win the next week. Just because the loss is over 2 weeks, not one!
  21. Hey Tam, did you take your centrepieces? Erin I know you did, but you are from the US so maybe it's different. Were you able to take vases in your carry on bags on the plane? I'm curious to see if any of you know before I contact Air Transport Security myself!
  22. love ya girl, have a fantastic time!! Can't wait to hear about it when you get back!
