  1. Vikki your planning thread is awesome!! I couldnt open the travel booklet though, it came up in nonsense words... haha could you email it to me? [email protected] Thanks! And again great job
  2. Yeah I hear ya Ash, I wish I could hand them out beforehand! But we are all flying out of Toronto as a gateway, with everyone feeding in from other airports (Montreal, Halifax, Edmonton, and others) I think maybe I will do like you girls, hand them out at the welcome dinner. Since its free, who cares if we do both, right? Hehe Have you all thought about an activity for the groom and groomsmen in the morning on the day of the wedding? We have been batting around a few ideas of excursions that we know of: zipline, golf, and my favorite: its called Bavaro splash, and its 2-person speedboats! The guys would rive the boats themselves, then stop somewhere for snorkeling and then come back. Its a 3 hour trip I believe, and would be a good way to distract the boys hehe

That is something I might take advantage of, I haven't decided yet! Who is doing a welcome dinner or a rehearsal dinner? We are thinking of doing one of these, but informal... meaning at the buffet AKA free hehe
  4. Because our ceremony is at 6 we decided to just do the dinner... so our timeline looks like 6-6:20 ceremony, pictures in between and dinner @ 7:30.... our guests are free to go grab a drink, or change if desired! Super laid back, no stress
  5. Neat little system eh? I thought it was pretty cool! I got worried about my ceremony, but its at 6, and the sun sets at about 7:20, so I will be more than alright!!
  6. hand slaves I take it are like the "fake sandals", right? I'm using a DR photographer, and I'm sure that it will be fine!!
  7. about the fireworks... hmmm I think lrdavis has this... we had something here on the forum but I couldn't telll you which page for the life of me, we go through pages like crazy here! haha I think it was around $1000 USD though, but don't quote me on that one!
  8. definitely not... almost always, except for those with LOTS of money, the etiquette is that guests pay for their own airfare and accommodations. The only thing I would mention is that sometimes some of your guests may be really down and out but would love to attend, and in those situations it is up to you if you would like to discuss subsidizing their travel expenses. But as for paying for all of your guests connector flights? no way!
  9. FutureMrs.- totally pulling for Shea, I want her to win it!! She needs it the most! Side note- so happy crazy b*tch Tracy is gone, she was one serious looney-toon!!
  10. Its still kind of funny... haha I lived in Halifax NS before moving to Florida, and its small too in comparison. But i remember one time walkng by two guys and one in the others face saying he was gonna "pop him right here if he didn't shutup"... I was like OMG WTF and sped up a little! I would see about moving out of your neighbourhood, although Ottawa is pretty safe otherwise in general!! Weird...
  11. Even though I knew we would get married, we had made other plans regarding it! About a week before he proposed, we had decided to book a trip to NYC and get married at city hall... nothing huge, we are pretty low-key! So when he proposed about a week after (like I said), I was shocked! I was not expecting an engagement or an engagement ring, we were just going to buy me a set! I am still getting a set to replace my ring (upgrade ya! haha) but this way is so much more fun!

Start putting yourself first! I am really sorry to hear that this is happening to you... its not fair to you at all! I agree with young love, you need to put yourself first.
  15. Yeah I like the two photogs idea... noones feelings get hurt, and you really won't miss ANYTHING!
  16. I checked this website that shows sunrise/sunset times, and it shows that it will set in July around 7:20. Here is the site for anyone interested Sunrise and Sunset for Dominican Republic – Santo Domingo – coming days
  17. I can't believe this dress didn't sell yet, its so pretty!!
  18. That makes sense... Its the MOH that would do that, not the WC? I'm confused...
  19. For those of you who are getting married at like 4:00... is it a symbolic ceremony for you guys? You are getting me worried about the sun setting early, although I think I'm ok at 6 in July... what do you all think?
  20. Oh yay I actually have someone there at the same time as me! What day do you arrive again Toya?
  21. That IS weird... sometimes scales are wonky!!
