I know what you're saying Misty... it is super frustrating!!

Toya thats what I mean... it took us a lot of debating about hotels, we were stuck between a few but narrowed it down to Dreams because their prices were reasonable and I didn't feel like they were trying to gouge people... now, even though MAYBE this won't apply to us, future brides are going to pay through the nose!! So muchg for simplicity in a destination wedding... holy cow!!

That's what FI said... he said that there is NO way this could apply to us, since we are already booked. Although I have seen stories where the w/c says that its all good, nothing applies and then you get down there and they try to charge you anyway. I am going to make sure to bring anything and everything in writing when I go, because otherwise it is a "he said she said" event. Anyone have any news?

I am beyond pissed about these changes... the set-up fee is the one that really gets me!! If I were getting married at home, I would have had my friends and family do it, so why would I pay a bunch of Dominicans $15 per person to do it? Doesn't make ANY sense! Toya I thought of you when this started coming up, since you have so many people!! I'm really feeling bad for the girls who are close from their wedding date... this is absolutely ridiculous.

I just emailed my travel agent (who is amazing) and asked him WTH is going on, I need your help!! I am going to start checking out other options too. I am so furious right now... I mean I picked Dreams because it was one of the more cost effective resorts to get married at as far as amenities and package pricing. Maybe I will look to some others as well. This sucks you guys

ok you guys, I am having a serious heart attack over here! what is all of this SH*T about?!?! I'm gonna check all of this out on my lunch hour and met you know what I gather from it all. Any emails between w/c and people should all be passed around between us, so we can see if there are any discrepancies! My email is [email protected] I will be sure to do the same! I know how you feel, my FFIL is a total pain in the ass. He made a big deal about coming, how much its going to cost, etc etc but throws money around at his kids like it "ain't no thang", buys toys all the time (boat, pool, hot tub, new truck, the list continues)... we have never seen quite eye to eye, so its a good thing he lives a few provinces away. However, FI has put his foot down and says that he is getting married in Punta Cana no matter what... its what WE want, and just because his family doesn't want it there doesn't mean thats what they will get! I'm proud of him for standing up for what is right, and you should be about your FI too, since thats what it sounds like he is doing! As long as you show up that day, and he shows up that day, thats all that matters in the end. Drama sucks, but just try to relax, forget about their bullsh*t and enjoy being engaged! You will not be the one who looks bad when the smoke clears
