  1. Keep the interests coming! Another thing to think about: what day of the week should weigh in be? We had Wednesday last season....
  2. Great attitude Jenny Take the time to get ready, no rush! You are, like you said, a strong woman to be able to switch your wedding date. I have seen so many shows with brides who are complete nutjobs and crazy... you are definitely getting some good karma on this one by switching! Just stick with whatever date you choose that year. It is not even 2010 yet officially, so people have all of 2010 and 2011 to save and move things around to be there. Whoever isn't really wasn't going to be there no matter wen you had the date! Have fun, and you better stick around here!
  3. Ladies! I am checking around to see who might be interested in participating in Season 8 of BDW biggest loser! If you are interested, hop on over to the thread I posted in "Beauty,Exercise & Diet" and post
  4. moonpalace - that could be a great resource for us! We do challenges sometimes, so you would be a WEALTH of information! Thank you for the offer
  5. Hi Ladies! I am just testing the waters to see who would be interested in participated in a BDW Biggest Loser 8th Season! I am willing to host this time around, since I just participated in Season 7 and know the ropes now! I would like to start it sometime in the new year, perhaps in January at some point? Let me know if you are interested and when you think would be a good time to start. I would like to get a good number of girls to be in it this time, and stick with it! There are a bunch of weddings coming up in the spring; this would be a good little jumpstart! MOD ALERT: Could we make this a sticky please? _________________________________________ (Copied from Season 7 thread) *BDW Owner/Administration takes no responsibility for this contest *There can be no monetary prize arranged via this forum *Should any issues arise, BDW Administration will not get involved unless forum rules are broken *Participants/members will decide who will run the contest *All rules must be posted and agreed upon by all members/participants prior to the start of the competition; these rules will be set and posted by the member running the contest, not BDW Administration BDW Biggest Loser VIII, this will be the initial weigh in - at which point you will send Natasha [nsbride2010] your starting weight along with a photo of proof. 6. Buying their trip counts for sure! I just want to buy a little something special for them, since they are paying for half the wedding plus their own trips! Tam did you buy the garter that just got put up for sale today?
  7. I second what Di said, no barf/pass out/hyperventilate action... hahaha Have a fantastic wedding week Nads!!
  8. I'm stuck on the parents thing too! I hope someone can shed some light on that!
  9. Hi Mel! I think this is a very common thing, its what my FI and I are doing! Its really up to you whether you do it legally at Dreams or not! As well, we will be doing OOT bags for our guests, bigger OOT bags for our wedding party along with their own gifts. Example, I will be giving my bridesmaids larimar necklaces and something spa related; FI will be giving his groomsmen stainless steel beer steins. Moreover, I will be giving something small to each guest at the reception, like a starfish wine stopper or something. Not entirely sure yet though!
  10. Oh sweetie I feel for ya! Its true what the girls say, even if it doesn't exactly make you feel better... more time to save and hopefully more people will be there that you want! I don't think I would change it again though, since (like another girl said) it is your life and you shouldn't KEEP postponing it for everyone. Once or even twice is fine but 3 times... well lets just say it wouldn't be me! hehe The option of getting married in Disney could be very cool! like FutureMrsLewis said it can be very affordable or very lavish, depending on what you are looking for (and subsequently your budget). Feel that option out with your FI and the family, maybe they will be all for it! It actually would save people money in the long run, since its one trip not two? Just my thought!
  11. Mrs. - ~Nicole~ B2B - Scubadiva You ladies rock!
  12. I agree with YOU, not your FI for sure! I can understand how he would see that though, since it is (like another girl said) strange that they would go before you. Part of the fun is everyone arriving together and discovering the resort together! This in mind, are you two staying the week after the wedding as your honeymoon? If this is the case, what they are doing could be considered considerate (in a way) since they will get both their own vacation and won't be interfering on your honeymoon! I have a slight issue with this with our wedding, so being in my position I would almost want them to go the week before... haha I think that you should tell the couple that is going before you that a few pictures would be okay, since you have most likely seen many pics of your resort anyway (trip advisor, etc)... this way, they can still feel like they are getting to counsel you about the resort but they aren't going overboard. If they give recommendations about places to eat, that would be fantastic IMO! Whats worse than going to an ala carte that sucks only to have to go to the buffet right after? At the same time, you should gently let them know that you do want to have some surprises during your wedding week and don't want to know everything since thats half the fun! I'm SURE they will understand!
  13. Elena- I would highly recommend la barcaza, we are using them for our reception cruise and so far they have been great!
  14. I just came across this, and it definitely interests me!! I would be willing to fly up for it if I could get a good deal!
  15. Yeah it is very common, I had to pay $155 CDN on $680 CDN for my bridesmaid dresses. If you don't have customers getting charged customs and/or duty its probabl because its marked as "documents".... which is very smart by you! Goods are considered "dutiable".
  16. Nads - band is gorgeous!! Mel - your e-ring is so pretty, and has so much sentimental value!
  17. I have really soft and brittle nails, but I am hoping to grow them out!! The mani closer to the date sounds better to me, it will be fresher! Carly - really? Only on your feet not your hands? I have never had one on my toes, it looks pretty nice though! Maybe that will be my next endeavor!
  18. I agree with what some of the other girls have said: the OOT bags will be other other brides responsibility for guests staying at her resort! For those you have, I would do up some bags for them; as well, have a small favor for those that go to the wedding (regardless of resort) as a thank you for coming to your ceremony! It is getting tight to book, wow!
  19. my fave is a toss between the two Allistair Sim versions (B&W and color) and a made of tv version called "Ebbie" starring Susan Lucci!!
  20. Melissa, I did my own save the dates and will be doing my own invites when the time comes!
