I see the others' points, but come on, why would she want to have the same colour dress as the BMs? It would be the same as a friend who's not in the wedding party buying the same colour dress and wearing it to the wedding....not really acceptable. Some "rules"/courtesy should just be followed. If she's as flighty as you think, then just chalk it up to ignorance and let it go.... you're so close to going away!! All that being said, just enjoy YOUR day and the FI. Have an awesome wedding and come back with lots of pics to post.

I have an ivory dress as well. My "head" flower girl (my soon to be step-daughter) is wearing a white dress with a pink sash... as for my other two flower girls, I'm not sure yet... maybe baby pink dresses to match the pink sash??

that's crappy and totally out of line. I would maybe mention to her that that is the same colour as the BM dresses (which you know she already knows), but perhaps suggest if she could get the same dresses in a different colour ... maybe plant in her head that she won't want to look like she's part of the bridal party, but rather being the groom's mother, she should stand out, not blend in... pump her up that way... ?? Good luck, i would be PO'd too.

We are getting married in Jan and need to do an AHR, but still haven't decided when... I would like it to be in the summer, however I am being told not to have it so late after the wedding... so maybe late April?? not sure. Are you guys having it at some kind of venue or at your house? We were thinking of having at our house to keep costs down and just have it catered and hire a bartender.... get our booze from the liquor store etc.

I think send out send out two different invitations, but it also depends on how formal you want it. If you want it to be more traditional, then send out two, for more casual/smaller sized party, then you could probably get away with sending them out with your marriage announcements.... It really does get to be so expensive doesn't it!! We sent out save-the-dates to everyone via evite. Almost everyone has booked and I am still being "told" I need to send out "real" invitations to make it more official/formal... Good luck!
