Dreams Punta Cana Brides

Nat, you will be fine with the sunset time in July... I on the other hand will not be, that's why I have to get married at 3 so it's still light enough to get pics.. -
question for all dreams pc brides
Tam replied to rdhbride's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I would allow more time for pics.. I don't think 30min is enough. I am getting married around 3. Pics for at least an hour (drinks go with that as I hate getting my picture taken), I was thinking of the champagne toast would be right after too, so I guess that takes us to 5. From 5-6, 630ish?? would be cocktail time and then dinner. Does that make sense? I don't think it has to be planned minute by minute.. nothing runs on time in the DR. Don't stress about that. Let Deyanira worry about all that stuff... Doesn't she decorate for us too?? I think so. -

I went to a destination wedding in 2008 that had 75 guests, and it was a blast! NSBride, that's soooo exciting about getting your dress in early! I've talked to a few people who've had the same thing happen, I think they definitely exaggerate the order time so that everyone won't leave dress buying until the last minute. Regarding the free room, I thought it was Dreams policy to give you one free room if you book 5 rooms for 7 nights, or if you book the Honeymoon suite? That's what I THINK we're getting, unless something's changed that I don't know about! Tam I looked at that mug website, thank you so much for posting! I played around on there for 5 min and came up with what I think will be the PERFECT mug for everyone! Prices are very reasonable too. What are you guys doing for bridesmaid gifts? I've been stressing over this issue for some time, but I think I've decided to get calf-length pink waffle robes embroidered with their names, and then pay the $30 for the day pass to the spa the day of the wedding. I will get my MOH the same, and then pay for her to have a body wrap or facial or something too. I myself will get a white robe embroidered, of course! :0) Tara, I really like that idea of the robes with embroidery on them and the spa part.... have to think about that. HOw is that price wise? Where are you going to get the robes from and the embroidery done? I have been wracking my brain for gift ideas that are more on the personal side.. so far I've just come up with jewellery. NOt sure if they have the stores in Ottawa, but in TO they have Brandz Gone Wild.. it's kinda like a winners/outlet dumping ground.. I was there for the first time the other day and bought some Ping and Izod golf shirts for my Dad for xmas that were under $20 each, (normally $70+)... WHile there, I saw some cute short robes I think that were Joe Boxer.. I'll have to go back now. I haven't decided on what dinner package to get.. I like the platinum on best, but might settle on the gold and get a photog instead too... the FI is being cheap about the photog, and says we can get lots of pics from everyone and even walk around with some people to get prof. looking pics, but I disagree... but it is a lot more money. I might just use the hotel photog just because it's easier and am worried about the other ones being too expensive.. I wish they would post packages online! -
Hey Darcy, I have decided not to take the sanitizer and lotion... I didn't realize the lotion has bug repellent in it and figure the shipping will cost more than the sanitizer. Hope it doesn't cause too much inconvenience.

Post your centerpieces here
Tam replied to bethtamar's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I am finding that to be a problem too.. everything I want to bring either weighs a ton or is really fragile. I have decided on a tealight glass trio sitting on metal/silver charger plates with white table clothes and black table runners. Then if I can find it, hot pink (shiny) confetti around the charger plate. I will post a picture once I get it set up and figure out how! -

Ok so the menu prices. While my fingers are clearly crossed the cheaper option is correct, i doubt it very much. I think the prices on the website are old and that they do not include Tax & Tip. Whereas the prices in Toya's post (which is what i was quoted as well) are most likely correct but they include tax and tip which lessons the discrepancy a wee bit. Also they keep telling me they don't have 2010 prices for the cocktail hr. Has anyone been quoted anything for this? I'm definitely curious to hear what someone from Dreams says about it rather than my own interpretation! Thank you Jocy. I might have the cocktail pricing, but right now I'm at work (on lunch), so I will look for it when I get home.. -

It is definitely worth a look, and maybe one of you has already noticed this and asked. It states at the bottom that the prices are effective for 2010.... Yeah, you're right Nat, that's weird... I like those prices a lot better though. What kind of packages is everyone looking at? What about photog? Are you guys just using the hotel's photog? -

Oh yeah, I forgot to say too that they can take a layer of crinling (I know I must have spelled that wrong) so it won't be quite as poofy.. -

Ok, here is the website for my dress... I am REALLY nervous about going to try it on though. It is on bestforbride.com JAI collection #8594. When I look at all the other dresses (especially on here) I start doubting my choice... I will say two things though: I am true hour glass figure so I got a dress that fits over the hips. I look WAY better than the model does in the dress.. she just looks like she's PMSing and needs some chocolate or something. If you look it up (I tried to get a link to it) you have to be as honest as possible.. Im sure I will feel better once I try it on again, but I'm still freaking.. -

Tara your dress is beautiful! classy with high impact. We are ordering our mugs from discountmugs.com. they ship to toronto, so they should go to Ottawa. They have been the cheapest prices I have seen too... I was supposed to have ordered today, but got busy...again. They have a ton of choices. We are just going to put something simple like Punta Cana, DR as although it's cute while you're there, we figure no one wants to walk around carrying a travel mug with our names on it after.. I get so stressed around Christmas-time, but I also love it sooo much, I want to put my tree up the second the Halloween decorations come down! I'm skimping a bit this year what with the new mortgage, and the wedding coming up, so Secret Santa with family it is! Tam, where are you getting your travel mugs? Are you getting them printed with any message or anything? I want to do the same thing instead of favours since I think they'll get used more and will be good tools for identifying people who are there for the wedding, but I'm having trouble finding good prices through companies that ship to Canada. :0( Any help you could give me would be great! Jocy, your dress is breath-taking! Who's the designer? You look gorgeous in it, even though it's miles too big for you (as evidenced by all the pins at the back!). Absolutely gorgeous! I haven't been able to post photos on here (no idea how, I don't even have a profile picture!) but here's a link to mine: Aria - by Maggie Sottero Hope that works! I love it but of course the model is wickedly skinny, doesn't look quite the same on this girl. ;0) Good luck to all of you who have your fittings this weekend, I hope it all goes well! -

Ok, I just sent my CC info to Deyanira... the only thing I didn't include was a copy of photo id... It makes me nervous doing this.. so if they ask for it, I'll send it, but for now they're not getting it.. we'll see. Jocy, I hear ya on the Christmas + gift factor.. I was actually thinking about making it into one for some people.. as the pendant I got for my MOH#1 is a white gold and diamond and cost me $150.. more than what I wanted to spend but I can't find anything nice for cheaper..yet. As for my sister's charms, any of the ones I like are $200+.. and she actually got married Dec.21 and combined my gift (which was a diamond heart pendant, which I lost with the rest of my jewellery box... who does that??) I am sad about that part and keep thinking I will replace it myself one day.. haven't acually told her about the losing part.. Anyways, those are my thoughts.. if anyone has any suggestions.. let me know. I am not doing gifts for my parents... I am paying for them to go down though..so that's enough! -
what colour is the veil? white or ivory?

Beautiful dress!! Very elegant. I am trying to figure something out that's more of a keepsake for my BMs. My sister I am planning on getting a Tiffany charm for her bracelet, but really haven't seen one I like or that symbolizes our relationship ( or that's in my price range). My other MOH, I was thinking some kind of pendant/necklace but still looking.. my last BM, is hard to shop for too, so not really sure. What kinds of gifts are you thinking about?
