  1. Hey ladies sorry I have been kind of MIA. I was so busy with the holidays and now getting ready for my son's birthday. Anyways I have asked Ana to send me pictures of the cakes, flowers, and anything else that I need to pick out that comes with the love package. I have not heard from her yet. A while back she sent me a email with all the different cakes and flowers. But I was not sure which ones are included in the love package. Anyone else getting this package and know the answer to this? Also I plan on just bringing a ipod and bringing my own speaker. Does anyone know what you can do for music for walking down the aisle? Can you hook up your speaker and ipod for that or is their music included in the love package for the ceremony. Happy wedding planning!!
  2. Can someone please explain to me how it would work to have your reception in one of the restaurants? Anyone doing this? Is it 10 dollars per person? Any info would be awesome.

There is another option that is used as a backup in case it rains. This one is more private but is not near the sand or water...and so I would imagine it wouldn't interest anyone. It actually wasn't bad as a backup. It made me a little more comfortable in the event that it rains. I was nervous about that. I can not wait to see you pictures.

I already got them in the mail and they fold up really small so they will not take up a lot of room in your luggage! tablecloths-chair covers- table linens-sashes wholesaler Bows were $0.79-0.99 Tablecloths were $5.99-13.99 Thanks that is a great site. Really good prices. I think I will be doing the same thing you are doing. I can not believe how overpriced things are at the resort. But I guess that it is any place. You think that would just give you table clothes and napkins. I guess they do but if you want color then it is a extra charge.
  5. Thank you for the review of the resort. Great to hear the positive review of the resort.

Maybe tipping him will help? I may eventually decide to upgrade my package but for right now that is the plan I don't think I can budget the extra $2000. Ana said that the dj at the desires club would be happy to make it special for the wedding guest. So I am thinking I could set some music up on a ipod and let the dj work with it. Hey it would make his job easier that night. lol

I have talked to Ana and she said that if we didn't mind splitting up into two or so groups of 10ish then we could talk to the manager the morning before about getting into the restaurant together. Hopefully this will work. But I wonder do you miss out on the cutting the cake, the first dance, and all the tradition things that go along with the reception. What do you plan to do after you eat?

I will send Ana a email so she can send it to me. I am not all that happy with the selection of food that were on the other list you put up. But I think I want a sit down dinner instead of a buffet. I am really thinking I might just try to save money and have the recpetion at one of the restaurants. It is so hard for me to justify spending so much money at a all inclusive resort. We will see.
  9. Here are some questions for you ladies... I picked the love package Does anyone know what kind of food we can pick for the reception? Is there a menu? Also what flowers, centerpiece, and cake goes with this package. I know some of you girls picked this package just wondering if Ana sent you any of these things. Or do you just wait until you get there and pick out what you like?

And the fact that I would I probably have to walk between vacationers lounging in pool chairs doesnt sit well with me at all!!! I'm sad...! I have the same concern too. I emailed Ana and she promised me that I can have my wedding move down on the beach to a more private area. If you want a gazebo to be apart of your wedding. It is not private at all. And I do not like it either. But move it down on the beach could be a option for you. Good luck!!
  11. Glad you figured out how to post them on here. I could not get mine to post. After seeing the table all decorated on the beach deck. I am going to choose that for sure now. The picture you had showed a lot more room then the pic Ana sent me. Also not sure if this matters to anyone but Ana did say that you would be unable to see the ocean from the desires terrace at night.

There are several reasons why I selected this area. 1. My original choice was the beach, however I feel that the food and the sand might not mix well so I have decided to change the location. 2. The infinity pool at night with the lights looks amazing. I have pictures but I am having trouble adding them to this post. I don't know if they are the same as Megans but if anyone wants them I can email them to you. 3. The pool area is too spread out for my taste. I want my guests next to each other because I want a private, intimate reception and I think this area would work well. Has anyone else decided on a location? Let us know why.... maybe I am missing an important aspect from other locations ! I tried to add my pictures on here too. It would not work. I bet we have the same pictures. Today I decided on the beach. But I am worried about the sand in our food too. But I figured since the deck is so close I would still get sand in my food. I do not know which one to pick. But it will be either the beach or the deck by the beach. I would love to see pictures of the beach all decorated for a reception. That would really help me decide.

Where would you pick to have your reception? Thanks
  14. Ladies who emailed me about the pictures I sent them to you. If you did not get them shoot me a email and I will do it again. Happy planing.

I just think a beach wedding and beach reception sound so beautiful and amazing. Truth is, no matter where you have your reception it will be gorgeous. One question is if you plan on having dancing at your reception? It may be difficult to "pound down" the sand or dance in the sand...just food for thought. Good luck! My FI keep saying we should just have our reception in one of the resturants. It kills him that we have to pay so much for food when it is a all inclusive resort. I have been thinking about if it would look funny or even hard to dance in the sand. I hope some ladies that have already been married will let me know what they think. Thanks for the responses.

We are going to rent the dance floor - those brides that have done it on the beach have loved it. That is what I keep going back too. I wanted to get married in Mexico because of the beach. I might just stick to the beach I dont know it is so hard to decide.
  19. If you had your reception at a resort that you were married at. Where did you decide to have your wedding reception at? Our where are you choosing to have it at? I have a couple of different chooses at the dreams resort beach, pool terrace, deck terrace, or the desires club terrace. Any suggestions would be wonderful. I thought I would do it on the beach. But then I started thinking about lighting and sand in the food and kind of changed my mind. Thanks Megan Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort 5/21/2010

Email me at [email protected] and I will send you the picture Ana sent me if you would like. Megan
  21. I also will be bring a ipod too. I have thought about shipping some speakers to Mexico so we do not have to bring them with us on the plane. Then I will just hope it is loud enough. My fiance has speakers and a p.a system. Now I just need to find something I trust enough to act like they are our d.j.
  22. Where have you decided to have your cocktail hour and reception at? The chooses are beach, pool terrace, deck, desire terrace. I just can not decide if you have decided on where please let me know and why.
  23. Okay I was kind of worried after reading Lauren review. But I asked some people on facebook if sushi was included as all inclusive and they said it was. Any sushi fans just though you should know that.
