Thanks for all of the compliments. I never thought I would be doing so many craft projects before I started planning this wedding. I didn't know I had it in me. This forum gave me lots of inspiration. Quote: Originally Posted by Snickers They turned out awesome. Thanks for the great tip and instructions too. So, we are taking everything to Miami with us (driving to Miami from Georgia) and handing them out at the Welcome Dinner the night before the wedding ceremony.

Oh ladies, I have been so busy trying to get all of this wedding stuff done. The FI and I got a lot done this past weekend with wedding favor bags and OOT bags, but nothing is totally complete yet. I’m hoping to get them fully assembled this weekend, and then I’ll post pictures. Today, I posted a thread of my sand and shell bottle wedding favors w/ pics and instructions. Check it out. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-w-pics-56826/ I was able to breathe a BIG sigh of relief yesterday when I finally faxed my FINAL wedding guest list to the Carnival Cruiselines Wedding Department. That means I don’t have to BEG people to RSVP anymore! If anyone tries to RSVP at this point, too late, the guest list is already final. New Jersey has been declared a diaaster area. My friend who's home my shower was in just got her power back. I have pictures on my facebook page - Michele Bailin - you can request me to be a friend : ) Passing out OOT bags ahead of time is a great idea if you have people in town. I only have one person in town that is coming to my wedding. All the other guests are in different states. Luckily, we are able to drive down to Miami, Florida where the wedding will be. We will definitely have the SUV LOADED. I have wedding stuff scattered all over the house and it won’t be cleared out until after the wedding. I’m so glad your kitties are ok. I was so out-of-the-loop over the weekend, I didn’t know about the flooding in your area until I came on this message board. I’m in the dark ages, I don’t have a facebook account yet, so I couldn’t check out your pictures, but I saw the news coverage this morning while I was getting ready for work. I don’t think you are terrible for not getting the in-laws anything. Not everyone does the traditional thing. You are sooo lucky to get half your wedding stuff out of your house. I can’t do that though, because none of my relatives or close friends live in the same city (or even the same state) as me. I’ve only lived in this area for about a year and a half and moved here for the job. I try to be organized and I have spreadsheets for almost everything, but I don’t think I am going to have time to put together a packing list. Luckily I don’t have to do much clothes shopping for the honeymoon. Just a few swimsuits and sundresses. My friends and I typically do a “girlfriend’s weekend” every year, and we did Miami in 2008, so I bought a lot of outfits for that. Then the FI and I went to Vegas for a week last year and I bought a bunch of clothes for that trip , so I have TONS of clothes for vacation. I just need to go through my closets to figure out what I’m bringing and what still fits right. Quote: Originally Posted by NJ Hunnie Ladies, you should all post what you have ready to go and packed. The change in air pressure on the plane could cause the containers to leak or burst and you don’t want your clothes ruined. I usually double wrap mine in my checked bag.

I just wanted to share my sand and shell bottle wedding favors. I made some modifications to them to fit my vision. This is the finished product. This was my inspiration. I ordered the sand and shell bottles from americanbridal.com. They come with clear personalized labels that you have to stick on the bottles yourself. I ordered the sand dollars from qualityshells.com. I was originally going to use starfish, but bought the sand dollars because they were cheaper. I was a little concerned that the sand dollars would be too thin to support the weight of the bottles, but they worked out just fine. I used a clear industrial strength craft glue (you need a thick glue) to glue the shells to the bottles. It just takes a small dot of glue. Place the bottle on the sand dollar the way you want it. Then flip over, sand dollar side up, to let dry (I let them dry this way because if you try to let them dry the other way, the bottle will tilt to one side of the sand dollar). I set them on bubble wrap because it kept the bottles from rolling. After about an hour of drying, turn the bottles back over for a moment(sand dollar side down) just to check and make sure they are still level; the glue should still be pretty flexible after an hour and you should be able to adjust. Turn the bottles back over (sand dollar side up) to finish drying. The glue should be hard after about 3 – 4 hours. I let them set out on the table (sand dollar side down) for a few days, just to let the “glue smell†air out. I wiped all of my smudgy fingerprints off of the bottles after they were ready to box up. I put the clear personalized labels on the bottles last. I wrapped the finished bottles up in tissue paper and placed them in favor boxes. I had about 40 total to complete. I didn’t do this all in one sitting. It took me over a week, just doing several bottles at a time.

I will be giving the frame to them before the wedding and they will get a wedding picture to put in the frame after the wedding. We ordered something similar for my FI’s Mom Father and Mother of the Bride and Groom Wooden Picture Frame. I thought about doing the embroidered hankies, but figured my parents wouldn’t really know what to do with those. I think Meghan’s idea of a digital picture frame sounds good too. By the way, I hope you feel better soon. Favours/welcome gift done!

Looks great! I just noticed that your wedding date is the day after mine... It's approaching fast isn't it? The FI and I worked on our welcome bags this weekend too, but they are not quite finished yet. -
Same here... I spent a lot of time creating my website. I think we've only had about 200 views of it since September 2009 and MAYBE 10 guestbook signatures. It is kind of disappointing.

Meghan, your bachelorette sounds like so much fun. Sorry to hear about all of the drama with your FI's bachelor party. Just put all of that out of your mind this weekend and have a blast at your party girl! Michelle, I am panicking too. I have a list written down, but somehow, I keep adding more stuff to it. My FI says I am going above and beyond what most people would do. Like the OOT Bags, paying for a charter bus for the wedding, our website, making the invitations, etc. He says the more I come on this message board, the more stuff I find to do for the wedding. I just want to make sure everyone has a good time though. I toss and turn most of the night too. But, I think most brides go through this.

(btw, I can't dance a lick, but alcohol does bring the Beyonce out in me) So and there is one other dilemma....my dress...well, I may have to get a corset put in, because right now it's not zipping up very well, or I'll have to wear spanx - that'll be nice and attractive for our wedding night, I can see it now! SO I'm basically screwed, I have been working my ass off at the gym with NO RESULTS. at first, I had lost 11 pounds but I think it found me again!! I effing hate my thyroid and it's lack of working ability...this is what I blame it all on!!!!!!!!!!! That's my rant for the evening - now please excuse me while I go take my oatmeal cookies out of the oven, they're for the baby I swear, and they do have raisins in them....and dark choco chips ) I hear ya about the thyroid. Before I had thyroid issues, I never had to worry about my weight. Now it is a constant struggle. I have to work 3 times as hard to lose the weight... And don't get me started on the whole fatigue thing.... Enough of that. That's so funny you mentioned Spanx. I plan to wear the high-waisted spanx that are the length of shorts under my wedding dress. Well, before my dress fitting this past Saturday, I decided to put on my Spanx & long-line bra before I went to the bridal shop so I wouldn't have to struggle with putting it on at the shop. I had my FI to help me button up the long-line bra in the back. So, I'm walking around the house in my high waisted Spanx and this long-line bra. My FI got a good laugh out of that. He told me I better not wear that s*!t on the wedding night. It was not sexy at all ladies. My dogs were even looking at me funny. LOL!! The things we go through to look good.

Ladies, thanks for the compliments on my wedding favors and OOT bag stuff. Suzy, you are so funny calling it a “swag bagâ€. I like that. Mel, I got a good laugh out of your story about the burnt toast and the firefighters. It sounds like something I would do. Lol! Kimmy, I don’t think your idea of an “all white†wedding sounds tacky at all. Have fun at your bachelorette this weekend! I just read through some of you ladies posts regarding your bridesmaid issues. I am sooooo glad I chose the people I did for my bridal party or I could have been having similar issues. I am only having a maid of honor (my good friend of 9 years) and one bridesmaid (my only sister). My cousin is the person that I always thought I would ask to be my maid of honor, but when I decided to have a semi-destination wedding that changed. I thought about the fact that I might not be able to count on her to do all of the things that a maid of honor is expected to do. Then, I would have to foot the bill for her attire and travel to make sure she made it. I was also worried that she would drop out last minute and leave me without a maid of honor. So, I decided to ask my close friend to be my maid of honor. She has been great and I can totally depend on her. So, my cousin calls me last week to let me know that she is not going to be able to make it to the wedding after all for various reasons. I was so relieved that I had not asked her to be in the wedding. But, I am definitely disappointed that she will not be there. So the temptation is just too great! Has anyone tried the Jillian Michaels DVDs? We have the Shred and No More Trouble Zones. INTENSE!!!! I’m not feeling so good about my body. I have not lost the weight I wanted to. I was doing pretty good, then I had two two-week work trips in the past couple of months and gained back about half of the weight I had lost. I’m getting so excited now! I had my first dress fitting on Saturday. The FI and I also signed and mailed off our Florida Marriage license paperwork on Saturday. I have just about everything I need to start assembling my OOT Bags and Wedding Favor Bags. I just need to stop buying stuff! It was like Christmas when I came home today because I had three packages waiting for me. I just couldn’t wait until I got everything assembled before I shared pics with you ladies. If you remember, I am having a cruise wedding out of the Port of Miami before the ship sails on a 7-day cruise. So, some of our guests will be cruising with us (sailing guests) and some will just be attending the ceremony and reception, but not cruising (non-sailing guests). All of our guests will be getting a Wedding Favor Bag. Only the sailing guests will be getting an OOT Bag. This is the OOT Bag I ordered from VistaPrint. I wish the font would have come out larger, but oh well, it will work. Each single person will get one bag and each couple will get one bag (but with more items than the single’s bags). Pic of most of the stuff that will go in the OOT bag. I only have ten OOT bags to make. I ordered Welcome note cards from vistaprint to include in the bags. I tried to think of everything that would come in handy during a week-long cruise since I have been on two so far myself. This is the list I came up with: travel mug, sewing kit, earplugs, bath & body works room spray, pepto tabs, advil, Tide liquid (one load packet), shout wipes, Dramamine (motion sickness pills), bandaids, antiseptic wipes, hydrocortisone cream, hand sanitizer wipes, waterproof ID pouch (for use at the pool and beach), lanyard/id holder (to use while on the ship), ink pen, and post-it notes. I’ve ordered the waterproof stickers (window decal) from VistaPrint to personalize the mugs, but I have not received them yet. I also plan to put the meds, sanitizer wipes, and stuff like that in a “survival kit†bag. I still have to create the labels and everything for that. So, I have more work to do. This is most of the stuff for the Wedding Favor Bags. I have about 50 to assemble. Shown below is personalized deck of playing cards, thank you note card from VistaPrint, Cruise ship bag tag, and silver organza bag to hold favors. Not shown is the sand and shell bottle wedding favor that I have not received in the mail yet. This is the sand & shell bottle I ordered. They will come with clear stickers with our names and wedding date. I plan to modify them to look something like this souvenir I got in Cocoa Beach, Florida several years ago. I will not be putting anything on the top of my bottles. I’ve ordered sand dollars to glue to the bottom instead of the starfish shown in this picture (the sand dollars were cheaper). I haven’t received the sand dollars in the mail yet either. Sorry for the long post, I just had to share! I will post pictures of the final products when I get everything assembled. Yay!

Suzy & Mel... That talking in the sleep stuff would freak me out. Suzy, how did you react when you first saw that? And now your son too, that is so hilarious! You just clip the scale strap to the handle of your luggage and lift the luggage for a few seconds and it reads the weight. It's been pretty accurate, like within 1/2 pound of the airport scales.
