That is horrible news!! What if you brough a photographer and pretended they were one of your guests? Do you think you could still get away with that? How would they know that you just didn't ask one of your friends who were into photography to take some pics of you?

KRama...The same thing keeps happening to me when ever I see yours!!! I am like "when did I write that". LOL! And the funny thing about our weddings being being off by one day is.. that we orginally booked May 12th, but then mexican rules say you have to stay two full business days before you can get married, so we had to change it to the 13th. Otherwise, we would have had the same day! Let me know if you figure out how to post pics on here... I couldn't figure it out!!

That's why I love this forum so much! People can actually relate to what you are going through. Thanks for all your advice. I feel so much better than yesterday. I will just keep my fingers crossed for a bigger plane:)

Thank you so much for your replies! It makes me feel better to know this has happened before. I never even considered Sunquest offering a larger plane. That would be fantastic if they did that. I wish people could come down on a different flight. But at this time, my TA is saying that is the only flight from Toronto to Los Cabos. I don't care how people get down there or even when... just as long as they can make it for the day of the actually wedding. My TA said it is rare for a plane to book up this early for a vacation. I mean it is almost 8 months away still. I guess keeping the date is the best thing to do, and just keep my fingers crossed that more seats become available. I just feel bad for making people have to drive all the way to Buffalo, if no seats get added.

I am still in shock with the news that I got this morning and I have no idea what to do!! I have booked my wedding at the Riu Palace on May 13th, 2010. I found out this morning that the plane leaving from Toronto to Los Cabos for that week is already completely sold out!!!!! How can that be so far in advance?? And to make things worse, there are no other flights available from Toronto that week. I only got the “Save the Dates†last night and I was so excited to send them out. Now I don’t want to, because I know that people will not be able to book a flight to join us. Here is where the situation gets tricky. There was a fuel charge savings discount if we had booked before August 31st. So I sent an email to close family, friends, and the bridal party ONLY, advising them of the discount, and 24 people booked! So, if I were to change the date at this point, I would directly affect all those people that have already booked. Plus, I would have to reprint (and repay) for everything that I have already had printed (i.e. save the dates, OOT bags items that were personalized, etc.). If I keep the date the same, I potentially will not be able to have anyone else attend our wedding. I know 24 is a great number, but I think family and friends that were not invited will get upset that they never even got a chance to book. I mean I haven’t even printed the invitations yet!! The only option for guests who would like to come, if we keep the date the same, would be to drive the 1.5 hours to buffalo, and book a connecting flight a day earlier. I already know this is going to be a huge inconvenience. Has anyone else had this happen to you before and what did you do in this situation? Do I go through the hassle of changing the date for the potential of more people coming? Or do I leave the date the same, be happy with the 24 I have coming, and just apologize for the inconvenience to our guests when we send out the invites? …And I thought destination weddings were supposed to be stress free!!! Please help!

I am having my ceremony at 6pm as well, from the advice of someone on this forum. I was speaking to a bride who got married in Cabo, and she said the only thing she would have changed was her ceremony time. She got married at 4pm and she said it was just too hot. So we chose 6pm for the comfort of our guests.

I am so excited to say that I just finished my first monogram! It is still very basic... I haven't figured out how to do some of the fancy stuff that some other monograms have on here, but its a great starting point!! Can't wait to do another!!

Can I ask how did you even begin to create something like that in powerpoint? Where did you find the images, script, etc.?

Only trouble is I am getting frustrated because I do not have enough points to open any of the attachments with the instructions on how to create one. I love the idea of creating postcards to put in the OOT bags for guests to send back. I have created the design, but I am wondering from someone who has already ordered their postcards from Vistaprint, is it better to go with the standard or oversize size? Thanks!

Has anyone from Canada actually tried taking the sand back in their carry on? I was talking to my friend whose boyfriend works for Canadian Customs and he said that they would take it if you brought it in your carry on. My question is even if you get a lid, wont the sand still mix if you pack it in your suitcase? I really really want to do a sand ceremony, so I hope there is some magical way out there to get your sand home!

I like the idea of one per couple as well. My question is when do you give it to your guests? We are all flying down on the same plane at the same time, so I don't have the option of putting it in there hotel rooms!

I really like the idea of a BBQ for our AHR, but the only problem is that no one I know has a backyard large enough to hold it. Other than a backyard, or park, where else can you host a BBQ AHR?

We decided to do a group booking for our wedding party, family and closest friends only (basically all of the people who will for sure be attending). Instead of us putting down the deposit on my credit card and then having the stress of trying to fill the rooms, I am having each person pay for their own deposit. My TA first said I needed to put it on one credit card, but I asked if I could submit her a list of all of my guests credit cards by the quote deadline, if that would that be ok, and she said yes!! Currently, it will be saving $400 per person of the regular rate, which is a lot of money. But here is the best part... for those people that did book with the group rate, the tour operator is offering a one time price adjustment from now til the wedding. So if in like 5 months, I find out the rates have gone down by $400, I am allowed to rebook my group quote at the new lower price. But they will only allow this once, so if it does down again, I would be out of luck. I think this is a real bonus, so I don't have to worry about prices going way down and my guests who booked early being upset. As for the rest of my invites, they will have to book themselves. I agree that it is way to hard to coordinate a group rate with everyone. My advice is go with only those people who are willing to commit their deposit early. Makes the planning so much easier:)

I just wanted to let you know that they wrote me back today and they do ship the guides to Canada, but for a $25 change (to cover shipping costs). Or they will deliver them to you at no cost, once you arrive in Cabo!

I finally have decided on Cabo for my DW and it was between Dreams and Rui Palace. I think Dreams looked wonderful and would have picked it in a heart beat, but it was quoted about $700 more a person than the Rui Palace. As much as I wanted to have my wedding there, I have to keep the cost down for my guests. Plus, a lower cost will mean more of my friends and family will be able to attend as well. Rui looks like a wonderful resort as well, but I really loved the Gazebo at Dreams. But after reading so many reviews about the Rui Palace on this site, I think I am leaning towards that resort. I am just looking forward to having the location finalized, which I hope is soon:)
