No one even called to tell us..grrrrrrr We are having our reception on the beach and I am waiting to hear about being able to have music and dancing. I stopped reading trip advisor...we went to Excellence in rivera maya last new years and i read nothing lots of bad...it was amazing though...I have to stay positive or else I will have a heart attack. Are there any recent reviews from forum members? The $15 set-up applies to receptions on the beach and in the santo Domingo Ballroom, they do allow music in both, Deyanira told me the only place you can't have music is inside any resturant. I don't think there have been really any bad reviews as far as how the wedding part goes, I think all the stres is created by the WC's during the planning part lol.....
  3. Hi Ladies, I have found the link to the local florist in the DR, I have been asking my WC but they never provided me with the information, but I found it so for anyone looking here is the link :: Floristeria el Tronco :: It is in spanish but if you call them they understand english, they are also very responsive to email as well.

There are pictures or bouquets centerpieces etc....

  6. hahaha June 18th is a GRREEAAAAATTTTTT Day hahahaha our legal day is June 12th we are going to dress casually cute and then go to dinner with our grandparents afterwards. Its just crazy how can you change the new 2010 price twice ... who does that seriously and its really misleading to any bride doing internet reserach on DPC, they will be shocked when they get the real price. This is probably why they don't have you sign a real contract so they can change onyou whenever its best for them.
  7. Oh yeh and speaking of the dinner package, the 2010 menu that Deyanira sent all of us for 2010 is now not right , because this menu states that gold pakage dinner is 650.00 including tax and gratuity and any additional persons was $32.50 WTF, how did it go to $800 and $40.00 additional per person =. I just now realized that after I looked at teh menu document she sent again. I attached it. I'm getting ready to email her again and ask wtf is the real price if I chose the free package urgghhh why do they keep changing this crap, don't they know money doesn't grow on trees geeezzz Wedding menus 2010.doc
  8. Thanks Nat, got the link to her pics. I think Deyanira is for sure my WC, however I will be sure to document EVERYTHING, and request my ceremony and reception site now because if I had to switch my date and location because of the WC I would be PISSEEDDD. Additionaly I feel like thay should have been reimbursed or compensated in some way for messing up someones wedding day like that. I will have my MOH or another family memeber stay on top of the WC to make sure everything is how I want it too.

You can go see her review online, it should be on the first page or it might have gotten bumped to the 2nd... either way its a good one to read!! Let me know if you wanna se the pics I will send the link along Hey Nat can you send me the link, Thx a bunch Toya

Tam your right it is $51 together, this is why I need to make sure that includes the cake and champange or is that extra too. if its not included then thats $51 plus the $6.30 per extra slice of cake

  12. Hi Ladies, I finally got my answers from Deyanira and here are my questions and answers below. I have reviewed the new wedding guide on the DREAMS website and I have a couple questions. 1.If I choose the free wedding package and add the Gold wedding dinner menu, or the wedding buffet dinner does the $15 set-up fee apply ? The US$15.00 set up fee will not apply if the dinner takes place in El Patio, Himitsu or Bourdeaux terrace. If on the beach or Santo Domingo Plaza, the set up fee will apply. 2.Has DREAMS updated there other 2010 buffet menu options yet? I have the Dominican and Caribbean theme buffet options for 2010, but I would like to see the other buffet options that were offered for 2009. So far we do not have other buffet options but we will. I will keep you posted. 3.I also want to confirm that dancing and music is still allowed on the terraces during my wedding reception. I hope so because I picked DREAMS PC specifically to have a reception on the terrace. Yes, you can have music in the terraces but not in the restaurants. 4.Do we now have to rent a sound system for the ceremony? No, it is included for the ceremony. 5. If I chose the ultimate wedding package for 20 people, Does the additional $40 per person for the gold dinner include cake and champagne or is that separate ? Correct. The cost per extra person for the gold dinner is US$40.00 and $11.00USD (tax & service included) for the Hors D´Oeuvres 6.Does the resort offer Calla Lillie flowers like the picture attached? if not is there a local florist ? We can offer calla lilies, but I personally do not recommend calla lilies since they are very fragile and with the heat they wither be quick. 7.Do you have any pictures of the inside of the Santo Domingo Ballroom ? Attached. Note that the chairs shown in the banquet room are not the one we use and the decoration (centerpieces with high vases, table cloth and bows) are not included. 8.What does the fire show and the circus show consist of? The fire show is a 15 minutes show where the performers will dance while throwing fire. Check the circus web page please, The Circus of Dreams

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything works out.
  14. Thanks Erin got all the info printed it out and going to go over it tonight

Hey E, can you please send me information the boat reception as well thx

I need some of it but not all of it, so I am going to ask if things can be eliminated (like the photog, since I have one already) and bring down the cost! Keep you posted... hehe Hey Nat, I already asked that question about eliminating things from the package to bring down cost and they won't do that. here is what Deyanira told me about that previously Question - Can I reserve a specific reception location ? Answer - you have the options of chosing between the gazebo or the Beach. The beach ceremony is free depending on the choosen package. If you choose the Dreams Wedding In Paradise, the beach ceremony will have a cost of US$300.00 Question - Can I have the prices for cake ? Answer - The cake is included in the wedding packages. The size will depend on the chosen packages. Question - I do not want the live music trio, can I substitute live music for a DJ and pay the difference? Answer - no, Please note that the DJ services have a cost of USD$350 dollars plus taxes. Question - Are the packages customizable? Answer - The package are not reduced or replaced, but you have the option to add the things that you want.

So, fingers crossed b/c the 2009 less expensive buffet prices were only $32 pp. Hope this eases some anxiety!! Thanks for this Autumn because I had asked Deyanira and Sharron about the lower price buffet options as well, so hopefully they still offer the other buffet meals.

Tam if I'm not mistaken ( and I will check) I thought Deyanira told me that when we pay the extra per person that it included the cake and champagne too, but I am going to go thru my emails tomorrow at work to find where she said that. Oh yeh and I know another bride that substituted there dessert for the wedding cake.

However I do want the gold dinner package so I don't know what I am going to pick just yet lol....
  20. This is great Tara, I think we should all compile the same list of questions and send them over to the WC's together to make sure we have everything in writing and that everything is consistent. I feel alot better knowing that I don't have to pay that $15 set-up fee with any of the packages and that basic white chairs covers and linens are still free because I am bringing down my own decor for that anyway. I will review the dreams love wedding package and the dreams ultimate wedding package because there are soo many things I really don't need in the ultimate package, so we will see. I feel a bit relieved now whewwwww

This is the answer I got from her: "We do allow music and dancing on the terrace and the set up charge is included, you do not need to hire a dance floor." She is speaking about the Ultimate package here. Hope that helps girls. This is great Ashley thanks soo much for getting this info for us and easing our mines, I am glad to hear that we can still have dancing and the set-up fee is included in the ultimate package. I will definitley be upgrading to the ultimate package now and I will just have to pay for the additional people.

We all plan on going to the disco too but it's just those other moments that mean alot to me. What is the point of having a audio equipment rental if you can play music? What the point of being able to rent a video screen if there is nothing to hear on it, that's where I am confused. ( The dancing and music was also really important to me too, so I'm still hoping they allow it on the terrace, they never actually say you can't have music on the terrace, so the update brochure is still not clear

UM, thought that was included? I just hope that they honor the packages we had with them. My TA told me that they ALL charge a setup fee, but most just include it in the paclage price that they list i.e. Majestic Colonial and such. And he told me that they really only are obliged to honor what was in our contract (read: package). So, in his opinion the extras are fair game, but to check with the WC. Unfortunately, there are no WC's writing back to us, so how are we supposed to clear this up? FI and I are thinking about upgrading our package, and just changing our ceremony from Civil to Symbolic, since we have charges now that we weren't expecting to have to pay! FML.... Nat, I checked out some other resort packages last night and they do all have a set-up fee , but it is included if you purchase a package, so I am really hoping that this is the same case for Dreams. now instead of getting the free package I too will be upgrading my package to avoid paying the set-up fee
