  1. In my welcome packet it will have schedule of the excursions we plan to do, which will only be a few and we plan on having dinner with our guest a couple times and just hanging on the beach as well. We will send the schedule out before we leave in the travel/welcome packet. Very similar to what Erin did for her welcome packet.

And are you organizing events throughout the week for your guests to do? Or just letting them do their own thing? We're thinking of doing an excursion, but other than that, letting people do what they want when they want. BUT I don't want them to be bored!!!! :0S Hey Tara, I was going to plan stuff for our guest but I remembered that this is there vacation also and didn't want control what they did, so I decided I would make suggestions of things that they can do and let them know where we would be so that way if they want to join they can or if they want to do there own activities on there on time that would be cool too. I don't think anyone would be bored at all DPC is huge resort with lots of things to do and plenty of excursions on Punta Cana

But i know we only paid the extra $6.30 (or something like that) per person, i just can't remember if the free package included 10 people of 20. So we either paid for an extra 14 people or an extra 24 people. Yes all the rooms have ipod docking stations in them!! And if your clock radio isn't an ipod docking station they provide a cable to play your ipod through. Perfect for getting ready tunes!! Thanks Jocy !
  4. Thanks for this great review Jocy, this was very very helpful and super detailed, I get more and more excited each time one of my fellow DPC brides has a wonderful experience

Erin thats is great omg I luv it, I will be copying this idea lol.......

Ya, I'm pretty sure we can gather at any restaurant if we don't need it to be private. This might be a dumb question but..my wedding is on friday, so I'm thinkng I'll do the welcome dinner Thursday, would I just call that a rehearsal dinner? I dont really know what a reheasal dinner is?! basically a welcome dinner right? Hey Jennifer, my wedding is on a Friday too and we will be having a cocktail meet n greet that evening, I am hoping to have rehearsal mid day Thursday .
  8. Congrats and welcome ! I'm a DPC bride and think the resort has a good balance of child and adult activities, as well as the reosrt will provide plenty of rest and relaxation.

We are going to get all of our family members (the women) to make some little finger foods and get m little cousins friends to serve them like a cocktail hour... haha we will pay them like $20 an hour or something, free money for 17 yr olds! Then we are having cupcakes (getting them from Superstore cheap) and a mini cake to cut, and then a big dance! For our AHR in Montreal, it really is just a backyard BBQ. If my family wasn;t so big, I would have done the same thing here... so much easier! Nat we are doing pretty much the same thing as you, we will be having a big party and my family will be cooking and it will be BBQ style something. A DJ, wedding cake, food, some basic linens, and a good ole time

We did the beach ceremony as well as our reception on the beach. Everything was FANTASTIC! Our WC was Sharron and when we got there on the Sunday we saw her Monday morning everything was organized in an hour. We had fantastic weather and all our guests had a blast. The only thing I would sugjest if you have children with you is to have their main entree come out at the same time as the apetizer. The beach ceremony was done by Sharron and she did tell us in advance that the judge deals with all of Punta Cana weddings so he may not be there in time. He came at 630pm and we signed all our paperwork then. The ceremony was to start at 5pm but the wedding before us went late so it was at 530pm...which was fine because it was so hot with the high sun. The beach reception set up was BEAUTIFUL!! Everything that I dreamed of. Dinner went a little long so we didn't do lots of dancing..no big deal to us..we all went to the disco afterwards. All the bridesmaids hair was just what I wanted for them and I loved my hair and makeup also. I had a trial run with the hairstylist the night before and it put me at ease. They spay your hair tons so don't worry about the heat getting to it:) Tam I did see your siter at the disco on the Wednesday night. My MOH saw her also and they talked for a bit. I saw your pics, they turned out awesome:) I am going to post some photos on Dreams FB...anything you want to know just ask:) Katie Thanks for the great feedback Katie, this is great can't wait to see your pics. I'm glad your wedding was evrything you wanted it to be.
  16. Hey ladies, yes our thread has been quiet I too was suprised to have to go to page 2 lol.... I can't wait to hera Jocy's review when she gets back, then I think next up will be Erin. I invited a lot of people actually thinking that most would not come , but to our surprise alot of people made deposits however I will update you ladies even after people make deposits if they haven't bought there airfare yet, they may still change there minds, we have had people cancel and lose there deposit. Airfare is really high right now and that has change some guest plans. so now we are down to around 50 people I wouldn't even mind if went down to 40 so then I can have my reception on the bordeaux terrace lol... but seriously people are willing to lose $50 dollars if they are no longer able to pay for there trip.
  17. Tam your pics are beautiful you look amazing, Thanks for posting your review we have all been waiting to hear what a wonderful experience you had. Did you meet Jocy while you were there ?
  18. Great review Tam, thanks for easing alot of our worries, we have all been planning together and I'm glad your wedding was everything you wanted it to be and you looked gorgeous.

Misty those shoes are too cute I luv them. Nat and Misty I am done with the hard part of planning which was finding a location and sending out notices, planning travel, finding a dress and shoes whewww lol... so now I just im just picking out items for decor and OOT stuff. I still have to plan my at home reception but more and more I don't even feel like doing that lol.... I'm glad it will be real laid back and fun. I am sooo ready for the wedding to get here so I can relax and have a good time.

Any advice you guys could give me would be great!! Thanks! Jamie Welcome to the forum Jamie, and congrats on a being a DPC bride. We decided to do a courthouse wedding before we leave just because it will be easier for us and none of our guest will know when they witness the ceremony in DR.
