Congrats and welcome, I just went thru everything you are going thru. My original destination was Aruba, but it was very expensive for my guest. I ended up choosing Dreams Punta Cana, because overall for me and my guest it had the best rates, it had a great wedding package and a beautiful resort. The Dominican Republic forum really help me in choosing my resort and finding information. Good Luck with everything !

Hello ladies, Congrats to all the recent brides and all the upcoming brides to be. I must say I feel so great now knowing that all of you had wonderful weddings and that everything will work out. I felt so lost until I found this forum. Thanks to some of the ladies that have helped and answered some of my many questions, its really hard planning a wedding sooooo far away and not being able to see anything. Thanks Roxannechante, it does help. I think the real reason I like the Melia, is because of there gazebo it is just gorgoues and it seemed to be a lil more private than most. But I do like the fact that Melani has been very responses and helpful. we will probably go with Dreams Palm Beach or Dreams Punta Cana.

Thanks Erinsny, I agree with you Melani has been great and she responds to me very quickly as well. This is soooo frustrating and I am soo overwhelmed, I wish I could find the resort that has everything I want for the best price ( unrealistic I guess ). I have been reading reviews on The Melia Tropical and they all say things about the resort being too big, the rooms not being clean, staff not being so friendly, and having a hard time with resturaunt reservations. Has anyone experience these same problems ?

Hello Everyone, I have narrowed down my top 2 choices for my Punta Cana wedding, I am really trying to decide between the Dreams Palm Beach and the Melia Caribe Tropical Resorts, both of them have beautiful properties and lots of amenities and fall in the same price range for my guest. I need to make a decision before all the June 2010 dates book up but I am stuck. Also how long does it take for the Melia staff to get back to you, I know the normal is around 2-3 days but geeezzz is the Melia on another schedule ? The Dreams Palm Beach got back to me right away like the next day I request info) anyhow enough with my babbling lol..... Can anyone tell me there personal opinions on pros and cons for both resorts ?

Hi Amy, I considered the Moon Palace Punta Cana as one of my resort options but they said they didn't have their wedding packages ready just yet. were you able to obtain the cost for the cost for the wedding packages ?

Congrats MRS, you did an amazing job and I am sooooo inspired. I am new to planning a DW, I had planned to have a wedding in my home town but the budget easily got out of control very quick, so we deiced to do someting that everyone could benefit form a vacation and a wedding. anyhow I just think everything you thought of and put together is just great, I hope I can be as creative as you were.
