  1. they both look great on you~I don't think you'll go wrong either way. I voted for #1 though, I think it's very flattering on you. Good luck!
  2. I agree! I cannot stand him either! what a disrespectful, arrogant jerk!
  3. Cdrolz, thanks for sharing. Would you mind also sharing how much you'll be charged for the reception at Atlantis?
  4. I already posted a few, but I'm a big fan of inspiration so here are some more =) :
  5. beautiful! you look like a princess in it! I hope I find a dress that looks that great on me! Congrats!
  6. Congrats! I definitely recommend reading the threads on how to navigate around the forums and to get familiar with abbreviations, etc. it's easy, just takes a day or so to get used to, but once you do you're going to love it and find lots of info., I'm sure. Welcome and good luck!
  7. I wish there was a Riu planning thread (I know there's one that lists wedding dates and important links to info such as reception info., etc.) but the Jamaica forum has soooo many Riu threads (I'm not getting married @ Riu and it's no big deal to pass through the Riu threads, but there are also a lot of threads that don't have it in the title so I click on it just to discover its yet another Riu thread) I think it'd be helpful to have a Riu section in the Jamaica forum where people can post all of their questions, discussions, etc. like how there is the "Jamaican Vendors" and "Accomodations and sites" section. that way people getting married there can easily find and post their info and people not getting married there don't have to go through tons of Riu threads =)
  8. Here is a nice view of the pond gazebo: Inside the Riu Ocho Rios Hotel just scroll down a bit and you'll see it. it's a much nicer photo than most of the others I've seen.
  9. in case anyone else is interested, this link shows a really nice view of the gazebo: Inside the Riu Ocho Rios Hotel just scroll down a little bit and you'll see it.
  10. I haven't booked one, but this is something my FI and his father would LOVE to do but from what I've researched in the past it's soo expensive. When we were in Hawaii we looked into it and it was $800 per person! I haven't researched prices around Jamaica, though so maybe they have better deals?
  11. Congrats and good luck! I'm a newbie too(just got engaged in July) and my advice to to look through as many Jamaican posts on this site as you can and when you have questions use the search tool first and if nothing comes up then post your question. I've found so much information on here already~ you'll love it. Good luck!
  12. I'm not getting married at ROR, but here's a link I found about a photographer's perspective of Riu's wedddings: Inside the Riu Ocho Rios Hotel
  13. Yay! congrats! I had to have mine special ordered for my size too and had to wait a month so I understand how excited you are right now that they are FINALLY in!
  14. wow~ now that's inspirational! lol. I hope I can find a steal like that! Congrats on the find!
  15. Congrats! I would suggest looking in the Jamaica forum. I noticed that a lot of brides are getting married at Riu, but there are plenty of others as well. I was stressed with picking a resort as well, so I decided on an off resort wedding for various reasons, among those being so that our guests can pick from several cheaper options of staying wherever they like and don't have to be tied down to staying at our resort (this is our honeymoon too so we want to hang out with everyone for a few days but then not have to worry about running into them all) Good luck!
  16. I came across a great idea ~ cheesecake pops! they don't sound too difficult to make and you could find ways to incorporate them into your reception by using sprinkles with your colors, tying a ribbon with your colors, etc. I also thought whatever you stick them in to display them you could put graham cracker crust all around them to make it look sandy/beachy to go with the DW theme! Here's the link: Bakerella: Cheesecake Pops!
  17. check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t9012
  18. Thanks for the advice Erin! Great idea on using plexiglass
  19. I like #2 the best, but maybe you could chose your 2 favorites and do a monogram on each side of the tags, etc. that you do. and then for the things that you can't do 2-sided, pick one main one for things like invitations ,etc.
  20. DISLIKE! Like or dislike: Carmelized Onions
  21. Congrats! those are going to look great! I bet you're relieved you finally got them!
