  1. When I got engaged last July, my fiance & I were planning a Jamaica wedding....due to various conflicts we have now decided to get married in Aspen, Colorado @ The Little Nell on their wedding deck! Here is a link to a wedding there: Aspen Wedding by James Christianson | Style Me Pretty : The Ultimate Wedding Blog I am in LOVE with the location! I was wondering if there are any Colorado natives out there who have any feedback/recommendations for Aspen vendors...in particular we are looking for an officiant, videographer, & harpist or violinist. Also, any "must-do's" in Aspen? We'll be getting married next August. Thanks! =)
  2. Not only would some closet room be great, some money to go towards my wedding would be fantastic as well =) I have various dresses for sale that could be used for a variety of things, from bridesmaid dresses to honeymoon or rehearsal dinner, etc. You can check them out at: Dresses For Sale pictures by woodenashley - Photobucket If interested please email me at [email protected] *Prices do not include shipping Thanks!
  3. Hello ladies~ I was just wondering if anyone out there owns their own wedding related business? If so would you mind sharing how you got started and issues and/or successes that you've had along the way? I absolutely love anything and everything to do with weddings and think it would be a great business to get into, but I'm having a hard time finding my "niche" and I'm terrified of taking the money investment risk with the way the economy has been. Just looking for some inspiration =) Thanks!
  4. I wore this dress to my senior prom and felt like an absolute princess in it! It's a pale pink color w/really pretty beading along the corset & scattered onto the bottom skirting. It could be used for a bride who'd like to be different and go with a pale pink rather than white~ or I figured if nothing else maybe someone has a daughter or relative who might happen to be looking for a prom gown. It's size 4 & also comes with a matching shawl. I paid $250 for it originally and would be willing to take $150. (Images should play as a slideshow, just click the link) ImageShack slideshow The best way to contact me is at [email protected]
  5. *bump* I'd be willing to drop the price on this...if anyone's interested shoot me a price and I'll see if we could negotiate =) Thanks!
  6. I have a size 6, Lilac Bridesmaid Dress for sale. It comes with a matching shawl. It has never been worn and has all the original David's Bridal tags still on. I bought it for $165 for a wedding that didn't end up happening so I'd like to try to make a little money back off of it. I'd be willing to take $80+cost of shipping o.b.o. The best way to contact me would be at [email protected]
  7. We'll be having a formal AHR also. It's going to be the exact same reception back home that we would have had if we had gotten married there, complete with decorations, dinner, drinks, cake, dancing, etc. I'm even going to wear my dress and the wedding party will be in their wedding attire as well. We'll also show our wedding video from the DW as well as pictures. Only about 20-30 people will be coming to the DW and about 300 will be at the AHR. My FI family are Catholics so they were kind of weary at first about us not being married in a church with all of our family there so we made a deal that we'd have a big reception back home afterwords for everyone who couldn't make it. I love the fact that we get to keep celebrating the wedding even when we get back! I'm trying to make it as DIY as possible to save money because we really want to buy a house soon after the wedding! We also lucked out because there is a restaurant nearby our AHR venue that caters delicious food for extremely cheap!
  8. I've had the opportunity to go to several parties @ the Playboy Mansion & this pic is from a Halloween party I went to there ~I was a football player. The pic was taken by Hef's star which is on the path to the gameroom.
  9. wow that dress looks stunning on you!!! very figure flattering! it's going to be a show stopper for sure!

  11. I picked #1. I think it's very flattering and looks great on you!
  12. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Trident Castle in Jamaica? It looks like an absolutely beautiful location for a wedding. I know the rates are very pricey, but I can't find much wedding information on it such as if they would let someone rent an area for the day or for a few hours for a wedding or if they make you rent the whole castle out. It pops up on many villa search sites with varying rates, but none list much about weddings. Each site says to contact the manager for more information so I emailed them but haven't heard anything back yet so I figured I'd see if any of you ladies know of anything. This is the main website: Home

  14. I'm from IL and I've never been to a wedding that has not had the dollar dance! I guess I never thought about it being a regional thing...it never crossed my mind that some people don't do this, lol. I won't be doing it at my DW, although I'm sure I will at my AHR because everyone will expect it. I guess if you think about it, it does seem weird for the guest to pay the host for some interaction but honestly I've never thought of it that way until it was mentioned here. I'm just going to go with it and have fun with it at my AHR because almost all of my guests there are from the same area and they just consider it a fun tradition.
  15. I'm not really sure what to expect as far as gifts at the DW. I don't plan on saying one way or the other on invitations or anything. We are, however, having a big reception at home when we return. Our families have traditional beliefs and we are thankful they're accepting our having a DW, but they want us to share our celebration with the rest of our family too, so we are having a reception at home just like we would have had if we had the wedding at home. I don't expect people to bring gifts to either, especially the DW, but for the AHR I'm pretty sure everyone will bring gifts like they normally would to a wedding at home. I mentioned to some family members about requesting no gifts, but I was advised that some people would feel bad not giving a gift or just truly feel good about helping out. My take on is it that I'm not expecting gifts, but if I get them, great I wouldn't complain.
  16. Here's an idea for an easy oot bag if anyone's just wanting to give a simple kit and not mess with the DIY stuff: Shades of Blue Welcome Kits - Accessories - Shop Love Me
  17. I like the idea of personalized resort beach chair covers. It's always nice to have a nice big towel to lay over your your beach chair so I think this would be a great gift. I found some on this site: Resort Beach Chair Cover - Beach - Shop Love Me they are expensive though, at least on that site so I might try looking around for cheaper options or maybe even just go with a personalized large beach towel since I think that would probably be cheaper.

  19. My FI parents are going to give us around $3,000-4,000. I feel really bad though because my parents are divorced and there's no way my mom would be able to help us and it would probably be a struggle for my father. It's going to be hard enough for him to afford to come to our destination wedding. I've read some posts about people needing advice in telling their parents they don't want a money contribution for help with their wedding...I'm thinking to myself "I WISH I could have that problem!". The thing about my FI parent's contribution is that my FI thinks they may be taking the cost of their travel to our destination wedding out of that price. Anyway, overall we will be paying for the wedding ourselves.
  20. blumenthale, sorry to hear you didn't find much. I'm getting married off-resort so I have to find a lot of vendors like chair rentals, wedding coordinator/event planner, etc. myself rather than through the resort. it had a lot of links(at the bottom of the page) with vendors I hadn't seen before on here or by searching google so I thought I'd share it
