I'm having the same issue with my parents, my dad does not want to travel he thinks DW's are stupid and you are supposed to be married where you grew up. I'm planning my wedding and having my mom and everyone work on him, I'm hoping by the big day he makes it as we are a very close family and it won't seem right without him. Just remember though that this is your wedding day and you and your FI have to do what is most important to you.

Ok yeah that must be it because I told her I wanted the French Restaurant for a private event since I'm really not into the banquet hall. However, now I have to see how many it will hold as my FI has just informed me that my dream of a small intimate wedding is now going to probably be much larger than initially planned!!

(One of the reasons we chose the French Restaurant, because the decor is our wedding theme/colors!!! ) I originally wanted to go with the mint breeze package but when I emailed Xhail about using the French Restaurant because I liked the decor more and didn't want a drab banquet room, she told me I would have to upgrade to strawberry passion in order to get the restaurant. How were you able to keep that package and get the restaurant? If this is the case I think I need to try to negotiate it.
