Congrats and welcome to the forum! Try doing some research on locations within a budget of your guests that will also fit your needs. If it's important to have family and friends there then try to look for things for both you and your guests. If it's not that important then I would say just go somewhere for the two of you. I get this all the time. Ironically I end up with everyone saying how awesome it is minus my family which completely sucks. My family is extremely close so it makes it difficult that they aren't into the idea of a DW. My dad doesn't believe you should get married anywhere other than where you grew up. I basically don't share wedding details with my family which is hard and upsetting, but I'm just planning it and they can gripe all they want but when it comes down to it, they better show up and shut-up and have some fun! Then on the other hand FI's family gets super excited about the idea of a DW and we weren't planning on inviting them at all, just to the AHR. So now our ideal intimate wedding of no more than 25 is now more like 75!!! When it comes down to it in the end it is your decision and you will do what you want. If people don't want to go then they shouldn't go.

Congrats and welcome to the forum Rachel! I would suggest to start reading through some reviews of different places here on the forum to help out. What I did to help choose a location was to go through on expedia and tripadvisor and read reviews and get as much information as I could about the different resorts. It also helped to give me an estimated idea of what it would costs for guests (a little more difficult for me as my wedding is in 2011). I'm also trying to make sure we have a place that is not over $300 a night for our guests. After I made a list of my possibilities I then read many reviews from other brides who had their weddings at that location. Good luck with all the planning!

What size of fabric is needed for the gazeebo? I'm wanting to bring down another color of fabric and am trying to figure out how much I need to get. Also what's the dimension of the tables, I'm thinking of getting my own overlays for them.

If you check out the thread for the Royal Playa del Carmen brides, (the adult only sister resort) you will find a lot of great information as these resorts share the same coordinator and packages.
