You need to explain to them that this is you and your FI's wedding and that this is something you want. Like finzup said if they aren't contributing financially they have no say in our they think you are "wasting" money. If you want to do it, it's not a waste of money. My Fi's mom cannot understand why I would want to ruin my wedding dress, and I just said because I do it'll give me beautiful pictures, wonderful memories, and I'm only wearing the dress once so I might as well have fun in it! Just explain how important it is and show them examples of what you want to do. -

I love lace!! I haven't even began getting to the dress buying part yet, but I think if you love it then you should be wearing it on your special day if that's what you say yourself in! My mother and sister apparently picked my wedding dress out for me a year ago when they saw it in the boutique window, after I got engaged they mentioned it again and I asked what it looked like and they said "it's you" and then described it; I just looked at my mom and i'm like "so no lace?". It doesn't matter if the dress is made for the beach it's whether or not it's made for you!

That's what I'm trying to go for doing it in Thailand, it's going to be on Koh Sumai island. I have about one week on site before the actual wedding. Now I'm just not sure if I should do it before the Wedding or day of or after. -

I'm going to be using Plumeria's Wedding Flower Boutique - she's located out of L.A. and ships everywhere. She's a florist that uses real touch flowers and the things she has produced are gorgeous! You could look into that if you would want to have them pre-made and shipped to you and she has packages available as well. I know there are some others out there that do the same kind of work. The only suggestion I would make is to use real touch floramatique flowers, these look much more real than some of the other artificial flowers out there.

Honestly, I believe you can do whatever you want because it's your wedding. You can also look into using roses in those colors and you can try hydrangeas. Where is your wedding location that will make a big difference too. Try calling florist in that area and seeing what they recommend because if you're using real flowers that will make things more difficult. Hope you get it all figured out.
