Welcome to the forum Kim, the Royal has a sister resort called the Gran Porto Real right across the street that allows children and is more family friendly. The WC and packages are the same and regardless of which resort you have the wedding at people from both resorts are able to attend. Also as for time of year I chose May simply because it's right in off season between spring breakers and when the rains start and it gets super humid. I believe it's pretty calm during the middle to late January as well.

FI and I keep going back and forth between resorts, the Royal/Gran Porto, and Barcelo Maya Palace. However, we're pretty much back to the beginning and are now also looking at Key West if my father doesn't budge on not coming to Mexico for my wedding. Anywho I was checking some of the popular locations on the forum and I fell in love with Las Caletas in PV. However, I'm not really wanting to leave the RM, as we chose it for some specific reasons. Does anyone know of a venue that is similar to Las Caletas in the Riviera Maya?

She's usually pretty quick at replies no more than 48 hours. The last I heard from her was before labor day and she said everyone would be in the states for a meeting but would be back on the 8th. She should be in the office - I hope she responds soon for you! -
