  1. I love the sand ceremony frame - I have never seen that but it is really neat and would be easy to display.
  2. It's good to know that people could not tell your flowers were fake - I was worried about this. I was thinking about real, but now I am leaning toward fake ones. I am getting right back on our cruise ship after the ceremony, so I would not be able to take real ones with me, so maybe faux is the way to go!
  3. The black envelope is a really cool idea. That will definitely stand out in the mailbox!
  4. I think that's the perfect outfit for the beach. Where did you buy the shirt?
  5. Those look great! My best friend had invites like that for her wedding and she paid $12 each for them. I think your DIY ones are much cuter too!
  6. Those are really cute. I love the starfish! Do you have a thread with the rest of your OOT bag?
  7. Those playing cards look awesome! Did you just put a label on the back of the cards? It looks much more advanced than that.
  8. I love the "Eat, Drink, and Be Married" slogan! That's perfect and it will definitely work for both your events. Very cool idea!
  9. I read on another Web site that cruisers sometimes decorate their doors to easily identify their room. Apparently all the doors in the ship are magnetic too. I was thinking that a door magnet might be something fun include in my OOT bags or have someone put on the doors of my guests. Has anyone ever seen this or thought about doing it?
  10. Turkey! That is a unique destination. How did you and your fiance decide on that locale?
  11. I think New Year's Eve will be such an awesome day for a wedding! Congrats!
  12. Welcome! I am a cruise bride too and getting married in Nassau, Bahamas! I think a cruise is such a great way to spend time with your family and friends to celebrate your wedding. I am sailing on the Carnival Sensation in April 2010!
  13. Welcome! I am getting married in April too!
  14. I am wondering if anyone has ever heard of the Poop Deck Restaurant in Nassau. I have decided to have my wedding there (although I still am dealing with the idea of having the word poop on a wedding invitation). The pictures online of the beach and restaurant look beautiful, so I figured that is more important than the name, right? Anyway, has anyone visited this place in Nassau before? Or are any other brides saying “I Do†here?
  15. I'm also a Carnival Cruise bride! We are going on the Carnival Sensation out of Port Canaveral and getting married in Nassau, Bahamas on the beach on April 9, 2010. Like many brides on here, I was thinking about going through Carnival, but I didn't like the idea of not being able to get hold of anyone on the phone. And not finding out when and where your wedding is going to be until the day of. I think you get a better deal if you use an island wedding planner too - though it's definitely more difficult for the guests, I think it will be well worth it. Is it April yet!?!?
  16. This Web site is hilarious. I love how it compares the groom to 12th man on the NBA team. "This guy is you. For most of the game you’re out of action--lazy, bored, checking out the cheerleaders. When the coach (your wife) does point at you and gets you in the game, it’s critical that you earn your playing time." Read more: Carrying Your Weight: The Groom's Duties - Groom Duties
  17. I think either way would be OK. My 10 year old sister says she wants to be a flower girl because she likes the idea of throwing petals as she walks down the aisle. I had her buy a colored dress so if she changes her mind at the last minute (which she definitely could) I can easily change her title to a junior bridesmaid.
  18. Does anyone know if you have to bring your own witnesses? Will the courthouse provide one if you don't bring anyone?
  19. These flower hair clips are beautiful! I think they would be a great option for people who are going to another country and can't take real flowers.
  20. I'm an April 2010 bride too! I am going on the Carnival Sensation cruise and getting married on April 9 in Nassau, Bahamas on the beach! I sent out save the date boarding passes last week, but so far no one has booked. How long did it take most of your guests to finally commit?
  21. I'm glad to hear these brides who got legally married in the US don't feel like it took away from their real big day. I am in the same situation - I am going on a cruise wedding and will not be in the Bahamas for 24 hours before the wedding, so I can't be legally married there. I definitely agree with thinking about the legal ceremony as "paperwork" and not tell people it even happened.
  22. I am using Anne Marie with Weddings in the Bahamas. She has been great to work with and returns phone calls very quickly. Their prices are very reasonable and they can customize your package. I am only in the beginning stages, but so far I give her a thumbs up!
