My fiance and I are both teachers and we go back to school Monday for preplanning - yuck! I basically spent all summer doing a few projects around our new house, then I got engaged in July and become obsessed with wedding planning. I agree that the hardest part of having so much time off is finding stuff to do that does not involve spending money. We are lucky to have the beach only 10 minutes away so we spend A LOT of time there. I can't believe the summer is really over now though

Great job with everything! I love Michael's too! The idea of a flower girl pail is great - and I love that they can play in the sand if they get bored. The picture frames are also really cute!

My colors are teal, pink and orange - bright, beachy colors. Navy is a really popular color though - I am a bridesmaid next month wearing a navy dress with light pink flowers - it's a very pretty combo - but a brighter pink would be pretty too.

I'm getting married in Nassau because I love the idea of getting married on the beach. We are taking a cruise there. Vegas definitely has its perks too though. People in Vegas pull together weddings in 15 minutes, so I'm sure you could get something together. It all just depends on how you see your wedding - I think your guests would have a blast either way!

I went to Spinning class this morning! Great workout! I am a teacher and have to go back to work Monday, so I will have to really stay motivated to fit in working out after a long day dealing with middle schoolers!

These arrangements are beautiful! I'm not getting married in Hawaii (although I would love to) but they are still great for inspiration. She has a lot of pretty displays for arches too.

I've used this one in my classroom too, but I never thought about doing puzzles for guests. I am getting married on a cruise, so some cruise vocabulary would be fun. Thanks for the tip!

I'm going with the three-day cruise to Nassau also. It's a cheap vacation for our guests - less than $300 per person, and it creates a pretty cheap wedding for us too because all the food is provided. (this is also the case for all-inclusive resorts). Are you talking about wanting to keep the costs down for the wedding or for your guests? Best of luck with planning. There is definitely TONS of information on this forum!

I like the idea of calling it Sandyport on the Beach ... that sounds a lot better than Poop Deck. I'm also glad to hear the food is great. The place is right on the beach, so I'm sure the atmosphere will be wonderful! I am also having my reception in the area goNDmay9 is describing.
