We made up our own playlist the night before we left for Cancun and we ended up having plenty of songs left over. Just be sure to have the important ones on a separate playlist (processional, march, recessional, first dance, etc) so it's easy for the technician to locate. For the reception, he just let the playlist go but you can request to change the order of the playlist. He was very good. The only difference I can see in having just the sound system vs a DJ is that you would need to find someone to MC the evening. You can also get a light up dance floor without a DJ, but it does cost extra. Though I didn't end up having my reception on the beach (due to weather), the sound system was definitely loud enough. Congratulations Maria!!! The wedding and reception look great! I'm so glad you didn't have to have your reception in the ball room. I have a question about the DJ. I know that without a DJ, everyone brought their own music. Does the DJ provide all the music or did you bring your ipod or CDs with you? Thanks!

Does anyone have pictures of some of the ceremony and reception locations? I was originally thinking about having the reception on the beach but am rethinking it and would like to know what the other reception sites look like.

Hi ladies, I have a question for past brides who have used the mariachi trio for their cocktail hour or reception. I'm not having the cocktail hour but I was thinking about keeping the trio for my reception on the beach during dinner. Do you think the guests (about 30-40 of them) will be able to hear the mariachi trio play? If I don't use them, Cecilia said she could only give me 2 hours of the sound system instead and I'm not totally sold on that deal. Thanks!! Congrats to all the Dreams brides on this forum!
