I had to revive this thread because it's so hilarious! Ok, I have 2. Christmas eve, and we're all getting ready to open gifts. My cousin comes up to me and is like, 'I'm warning you ahead of time, but what Uncle B got you is NOT a joke. He really thinks it's a good gift for you.' hmmmm.... So I open the gift, and it's a Chihuahua statue that stood about a foot tall! HAHA!! When I opened it he was like, 'when I saw that I thought of you'. NO clue why! Second- I was dating a guy for a few months, and I got him a few little things (CD, Gift certificate to get his tongue pierced (gross I know!), baked him cookies.) So I didn't get him a TON, but what I got was two christmas ornaments. Cheap ones, and they still had the stickers from 7-11 on them and they were $2.00 each!

I love to hear this! It's exactly how my FI has been.... he really let me do (buy too) absolutely everything I wanted within our means for this wedding. It's such a great feeling, and I'm happy to see that someone else is as lucky as I am!

yay Samira!!! Have a great time!! Dreaming- that's a tough one- I think it's a great idea, but you're going to have all of your stuff.... hmmmm. Maybe you could set it up so that you could drop it off before you guys head out and leave it with the wedding coordinator? I know I would be really nervous to do something like that, but it's an idea....and thanks on the congrats!! Hey Linds or any past brides- what time did you get your hair done and when was your ceremony? I have to set my appointment, and I want to give myself enough time and not have to rush. But I don't want to have it done too early either.... thoughts?

Thank you all SO much for the words of encouragement! Reading this really made me feel a ton better! I haven't been on the forum much because everything has been out of control, but things are settling down a bit. We went down this weekend to find a place, and we just found out today that we got approved! Also, it looks like it is about 3 blocks away from a very old friend that I recently reconnected with. I'm super excited about that! Ryan is driving down there as we speak- his first day at work is tomorrow! I'm so freaking proud of him. Seeing his stregth through all of this is helping a ton. Also, a friend of ours that works from home offered to take Crosby (the doggy) for a couple of weeks while I get things packed up and so I can not feel so guilty about not giving him attention. OMG Di I am so so so happy that you shared all of this! Everything is absolutely fab, and you are going to have the most amazing day. I have been stressing so much about our chair sashes, and I thank you so so much for sharing the pic of the double sashes! I will now be ordering a second color, and will finally be happy (FI just rolled his eyes of course )

Well ladies- everything has been super smooth sailing all through the planning of this wedding. I even put off some of our DIY projects until June so I could get excited and in the mood. As of Friday last week, my life has been turned completely upside down. Let me start off by saying, it is a really good thing. FI got a job at a fab LA firm! It is such a great opportunity- HOWEVER- the timing of it is truly horrible. To start, our budget was already super super tight w/ the upcoming wedding. And they want him to start June 1. SO..... that means that next weekend we are driving to LA in separate cars to find a place to live (hotel room for a couple of nights while we look $$), then god willing, we do find a place, we have to put down 1st month rent and deposit- $$$$$$$. I give 30 days notice on our current place, so we are paying rent at two places for the month. I have to leave FI in LA, come back up, pack our apartment, take care of our dog, all while I'm used to having FI for support because I have a 40 mile each way commute each day. (SO happy to leave that!) AND we have to pay 150 per person to change our flights to leave from LA to Cancun.... I was so looking forward to cruising through June, focusing on working out, finishing up DIY projects etc..... Now I may not have a job for awhile, packing the apt alone.....I've cried so many times this weekend- tears of joy, fear, excitement, so many emotions!!! I don't even know what to do. Thank you so much for listening ladies- I love that I can always come to you all for support and advice. This wedding is going to be the biggest vacation I've ever had!! If anyone lives in LA and can offer any advice, I would appreciate it SO SO SO SO Much!! FI is working in Brentwood, and we are looking to live in West Hollywood or Santa Monica area. But this is purely off of internet searching. We have only been there a few times for small weekend trips- it is SO nervewracking to try and find a place where you don't know! SCREEEEEAAAMMM!!!! Oh, and on top of it all, I have a feeling that the crying breaks were def !!

My bday is tomorrow, but I told FI that the only celebration I wanted was NEXT week for the SATC premier!! So stoked beyond belief-and FI is the best- last Christmas I got the whole series on DVD!

Ok, I am so beyond stoked (as well as stressed) he got the offer letter literally an hour after my last post!!! Wheeeeeewwwww So does anyone want to come to Cali and help me with this madness?? Joking!!! But I do have the cutest dog on the face of the planet to try and persuade (shameless pet plug, I know! I am obsessed w/ my dog)

WOW those are amazing! I heart the design, it's so unique- no one will ever have those! Gorgeous. I want to do the same thing actually (eventually) and put a matching eternity band on top. Great minds think alike And fabulous news- he got the offer letter- and he starts June 1st- so I don't know WTF is happening in between then and now.... but I do know we have to change our flights- boooo! But yay for a great job! Now that we know this, we'll be completely moved before the wedding- so I feel now that the wedding is going to be extra relaxing and fan-tab-ulous!

Thank you guys so much!!! So an update: this afternoon FI got a call, and the prospective firm said that they're just waiting to get his background check through w/in the next few days, but if that's all good, then they will be making him an offer!!!!!!!! We're trying not to get too worked up until the actual offer is on the table, but it's some weight lifted off of our shoulders knowing that it's a pretty good possibility. I'll let you guys know when we hear- and if it's good news, I may not be on the forum for a bit because I'll be trying to move our life halfway down the state!

Thanks! We have to pick up FI's tomorrow- have you posted yours yet?? And 6 weeks is nothing. And guess what?! FI has a 95% for sure offer on a job down in LA- which is about 375 miles from us now. And they want him to start right away!!! I'm so stressed out...... so much for being on top of things and having a relaxing 'before the wedding month' Phew! Either way- this is the most exciting time of my life!!

Gosh I love this thread! I have been waiting until I got my band to post mine- and it's here!!! I adore it. I had a hard time finding a band that would look 'flush' with the solitaire since it's a 6 prong. And I didn't want something curved for some reason. So I found this band- I think it's unique! Thank you SO much Renee! I truly believe that everythign happens for a reason- and I'm trying not to stress so much because there is nothing I can do to change the outcome.
