Gazebo @ 4pm & beach party. Photographer - Artistique (Portland), DJ Doremixx (Ivan). I think we will have about 40-50 people...30 some booked so far. Invites have gone out - NUTS!!! We did them ourselves and I love them Thanks for all the inforon this thread - it really helps! I've heard from my mom's friend, who goes to Playa every year and stays @ the Royal, that the Italian restaurant at the Gran (Il Pescatore) is the BEST so that's where we're having our welcome dinner. Congrats on getting the invites out!!! And 30 already booked Wow, you're doing great!!

We are very happy with our decision to get married at The Royal next year (May 8th, 2010 now). The location (walking distance to 5th ave), food (top notch), service (out of this world) were the main reasons we chose The Royal and after seeing the property in person, we are at ease and very excited. I’ll be uploading pictures later this week and will post a link to view my google album. Take care and email me if you have questions: [email protected]. jennie you're fantastic!! thanks so much for your review!!!! I was going to call my wedding planner today to get them to ask about that! Have a great time! We got ours for 6pm in the Gazebo. I was wondering about that since I saw 4pm was the latest?? I guess it just depends what you request w/the WC. We really wanted the wedding as close to sunset as possible, and I think I clocked it at 7pm during June in Playa. Kimberly said 6pm is the latest they could do. Quote: Originally Posted by super19 Hi Ladies - I'm so excited, we've contacted The Royal to book the date. I would never live that one down (or forgive myself for ruining my wedding.) I can't wait to see the show though. I hope I don't kick myself when it does come on, and wish I had done it. Don't worry, your wedding was gonna be fantastic before you were picked for it so I'm sure you won't be kicking yourself What is the show called, again? You've definitely made me want to watch it, too!

Dollar tree OOT bag fillers
candicemarie replied to brandynd's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thanks ladies! I just went and got some of those shower puffs. 2 for $1! Great idea! They only had 6 bottles of the aloe gel left so I'm gonna wait till I find more to buy that bc I need 14 bottles, and I want them all to be the same brand. They, also, had 2-2oz bottles of hand sanitizer for $1. I love Dollar Tree! -
Congrats & welcome to the forum, Jennifer! I had your same mindset about the DW bc FI's family lives 5hrs away. You'll find so much info on here to help you! Happy planning! ps. My fam is from Pittsburgh, too!

You definitely don't have to pay the outside fee if they're staying at either GPR or Royal so you're good to go! Other things we learned: 1. guests staying @ GPR, certain suite level includes free ALL ACCESS to the Royal restaurants/bars!!! Jennifer said to email her about which suite level this is with 2. no more $60 3day pass for GPR guests to the Royal They do have day passes and night passes to purchase separately, but they didn't give us the rates so you'll have to check w/your WC. Or just make sure they stay in the suites from #1 and no worries! 3. 10people per round table; so you can estimate how many tables you'll need to decorate 4. white chair covers are included in all wedding packages. colored ribbon can be added for $5/chair 5. webcam for wedding = $300 6. centerpiece included in every package (unless otherwise notated) - one lg/medium sized ivory candle per table. I'm pretty sure she said in a hurricane but not 100% 7. need to have wedding package, food, etc decided at least 45days prior to wedding 8. resort staff puts up your decorations you bring to them FREE of charge 9. if photographer is staying @ GPR or Royal, you don't have to pay the outside vendor fee That's my summary. I know there was some more, but that is what pertained to me directly. Hope it helps!

Have you heard Jim Sturgess' version of 'Something'(from Across the Universe)? Its beautiful. I LOVE The Beatles, but it's a nice modern version. My $.02 for what it is worth... I think picking songs has been the hardest part of the planning!!!!! Most of BDW wants non-traditional so the ideas you see here probably aren't as cliche as you may think. FI keeps reminding me that every wedding we have been to in the last 6 years have all used the here comes the bride and classical recessional music. So picking something that you love and really represents you and FI will make a statement and be unique in most of your guests eyes. I can't wait to see what other people post as "non-traditional songs"! Ooh good idea on finding the Kelly cover in an acoustic version! I might be "borrowing" some of yours and KittenHeart's ideas Quote: Originally Posted by amandseth We haven't decided on our first dance song yet, but our processional we are having a friend create for us. So our friend is going to turn 'Eye of the Tiger' into a classical, acoustic, lyricless version for us. We'll have it recorded before we go (luckily I've got a friend with the equipment to do it!) so he doesn't have to risk bringin his guitar. Hoping between the song (which will be a surprise to our guests) and our good friends ceremony (he's going to officiate and has been creative liscence), there will be enough humor infused in the event to keep me from being a bawling mess! lol That sounds like a blast!!! -
