Fernando had a LOT of makeup! I was talking to my sister and wondered why some make-up artists have their own makeup and she made a good point. If you're a professional in the field and you use professional products I'm sure it will bring your quality of work down if someone shows up with all their Cover Girl or Wet N' Wild makeup and expects you to make them look great using less than stellar products. It made sense to me. But he does have a huge selection and I'm sure you won't need any of your own! Just let them (the Royal) pick it up and steam it and return it. Trust me, I was anal about this and worried, but I wouldn't have it any other way. A hand steamer won't do the job, and it is included in certain packages. They were amazing and my dress looked perfect when it was returned to me!

YAY for Randi and Jess!!! Can't wait to hear all about it/see pictures. Jess, I'll second all the other brides, you are a lifesaver so I hope/know things will go perfect for you. Well, your fiance's head may pop off when you show him those pictures but that's just a small technicality, hehe. Husband that is. Have a blast ladies and enjoy every moment, it goes SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fast!

Haha, welcome Mike! That's awesome that you're on here! Great ready for craziness! Jess, you asked about shoes/walking up the aisle. It honestly depended on who was working! We went to Maria Maria's one night with just 4-6 of us and they made Kenny go put on closed toed shoes. Then the night of the rehearsal they didn't care about shorts or shoes (and remember, this wasn't even our "private" function, it was a free for all basically) so just smile and bat your lashes and slip on by. I had my bridesmaids walk up with the groomsmen. Lili came and got Kenny from the room and walked him down and stood him in place, then the rest of us trucked down there, by dad and I bringing up the tail end. It's all preference. I say if you want it, go for it!

Hey girls! I didn't get them engraved, I just took beachy stickers and a marker so everyone could decorate them. Many of my guests still use them (bbq's, tailgating, coffee at work) so I didn't want my name/date plastered all over them. They were a HUGE hit! Esp the ones with the bottle opener on the bottom!

We just changed the dwarf's names to something that either fit our personality or some girls did a slutty name...LOL I guess we all figured we were in New Orleans and no one knows us there! Have fun! msglave - Can you add me to the list also My date is July 22, 2011. I didn't do the vegetarian food tasting when I went. Now I wish I did b/c FI's mom is a vegetarian. Oops! runningbride - I remember you asking about a spray tan place in Playa before you left for your wedding. Did you find one there? Heidi, yes! I have a lot of spray tanning info they sent me. PM me your email and I'll forward it! Jess so true about the pics! You look stunning! And Prettypig, Jess is tiny too and the pictures looked amazing, so you'll be fine!

Msglave - We had right around 30. They weren't going to accomodate us since you usually have to pay $15/guest ahead of time, but my dad slipped them some money (I found this out after the wedding) and said 'make it happen' and everything went flawless...... YAY Kerri! So exciting! ENjoy the excitement/anticipation of the week, it goes so fast! Can't wait to hear all about it! YAY!!! How exciting!! We were going to get insurance then I just forgot about it, whoops! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for all you girls!!! It will be amazing! Jess, how ya doing???

For our dinner they didn't have us scheduled, but managed to put us somewhat to ourselves in the back corner. We had 4 long tables close together and it worked out perfectly. It wasn't incredibly crowded so I didn't even notice the others. The food was very good, I always went for the seafood! I was too busy talking/taking pictures/enjoying things to eat that much, but I don't remember it being incredibly heavy.

Hey it never hurts to ask! Yes, open bar anywhere, everywhere! There was never a problem with this. I had heard sometimes it wasn't an open bar but it was! I had a 'signature drink' served during the cocktail reception, but people could still order other drinks. Ahhhh yay!!! I'm glad you liked them and YES do a TTD! It's so fun and definitely worth it! YAY have a wonderful, wonderful time and enjoy ALL OF IT!

Holy cow lots of activity today! Yes, the resort steamed my dress and it looked perfect! Note: make sure they pick it up the first day you're there, and call them the next day so it's back right away. You don't want to give it to them the day before your wedding and cause added stress. Chicagobride, I tried on the 2nd Maggie dress when I was a little curvier and didn't like how it caught on my hips. I lost about 10lbs for my wedding but didn't try it on when I had the figure of a little boy, but I was self-conscious of how it looked the first go around. Girls, Ivan and his wife will both come to your wedding and I just asked them which entree they would like and had places for them at the reception. He posted a teaser of the TTD here: http://blog.luckiephotography.com/nikkikenny-trashing-the-wedding-dress-puerto-morelos-mexico/ He is absolutely amazing and I would recommend him to anyone. I can't wait to see the rest, the anticipation is KILLING ME! Oh, and I do promise to do my planning thread/review, lol. Someday!

I hear ya, the reason for a DW is to save the money! We had 33 guests which was more than I planned on. We are having an AH reception, but cheaply. It would be another $10,000 to throw a blowout. My parents have a huge, really beautiful ranch with a lake/pond (and the bridge that hubby proposed on) so we're having it there. We'll have it in a huge open green field by the water. We're getting a live band (low key, not a head banger or anything) for the night. We have several Mexican workers employed by my dad and their wives cook amazing food, so we'll have them cater the event. It's in a small town, but everyone who couldn't make it to Mexico will be able to attend. Plus it lets me extend being a bride just a little bit longer.......

Sorry I overlooked this the first time. Thanks for the kind word, Fernando did great! The violinist was a man, and I just told my WC what I wanted played while I walked down the aisle. After that I couldn't tell you what he played, I don't remember! But I asked some guests and they said it was really good! So just email your WC your requests and the violinist will handle the rest, they are very talented. As far as Maria/Maria (I really need to get my review up, sorry girls! Way to go SMcKinney, I loved yours!), that was the one little bleep we had. They forgot to schedule our dinner! But everyone showed up and they accommodated us and it worked out perfectly. Everyone enjoyed it there, and the waiters that night were a riot. They had champagne popping everywhere! THanks Janna! He is amazing! Believe it or not we didn't do a trial run. I sent him some hair/make up pics of what I liked, then had my laptop open with the pictures. We talked and tweeked it a bit but that was the first time. He and his crew are amazing, I can't say enough about them! For our reception we did seafood (salmon) and beef and I didn't hear any complaints! Okay girls it's my project this weekend to get my review and planning thread (lol) updated. My mom surprised me with a lot of personalized favors at the wedding, so it's probably a good thing I didn't do the planning thread yet! We're doing an at home reception on June 11th, 2011, so I'm already excited for that. I'm honestly jealous of all of you who have upcoming weddings. Seriously, I know everyone says it, but it's so true. Don't stress out, slow down and enjoy everything. Take a few moments to pause and take a mental picture. Don't stress, don't go crazy, don't rush. Just honestly soak in everything. I remember the different feelings I got as the week went on and I hope I never lose those moments, they were the best!

Ahhh thanks Lisa! Michelle, about people staying at the Gran. My cousin and her husband were scheduled to stay there but once they got to the resort and realized how much they would have to pay they came to the Royal for only an extra $200!! Are your parents at the Royal? It's really worth it to upgrade. But with small children, it's so hard. My sister left her little girl at home, as did our other friends with babies. Which I know is not the option for everyone, but it made the trip smoother for them

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! I'm glad he is on the road to recovery! I got the luxury package and before we went I was worried I screwed up and should have done the free package and added what I needed. But now I'm glad I did the luxury package! Little things make my day, and some of the items included I really appreciated. Ask if you have any specific questions. I just got a standard cake that came with the package. I choose vanilla and holy h*ll it was so good! I don't really eat sweets so maybe that's why it was so good, but our guests raved about it!!! Oh, yes, my bouquet and Kenny's flower were included in our package. I just paid for the bridal party and parents. Here are some more pictures! My hair is naturally really, really curly. I didn't straighten it once. And after Fernando's guy did it it looked beautiful the entire night and lasted the next day until I fi)

Wahoo ladies! Greysgirl, glad it went well and good luck with your next! They are so addicting! How did you finish? Cindy, nice work on the 10k an the 1/2!! Haha you're an animal! I just registered for Boston this morning! So excited! But I have the Vegas full in December and I'm so far behind on training, yikes! I need to get my butt in gear! -
AHHHH I thought that was you!!! Yes you said hi by the pool! That made me smile! That was one of the most fun parts, walking through the pool! I think I saw your wedding on Saturday! I agree, get the extra hour at the reception for sure! I just used the resort flowers for less hassle. I thought they were beautiful. A tad expensive for roses, but it was less of a headache. The map did help, thank-you!! I printed them off and gave them to our guests so they could see who was where. We had oceanfront (736) the last 3 nights of our stay. We had guests all over the place but it worked out nicely. We didn't do the DJ and it did look amazing. Our guests drank enough to keep on dancing, lol. But I did see DJ Ivan at work and it was spectacular! Lady Di, you and Heather Graham were my hair inspiration so I have to give you a shout out!
