  2. What do you all think about tipping when you get there? Are you going to tip the WC at the resort...the DJ...the waiters that help during the reception? If so how much are you thinking would be a good amount? I'm thinking of buying this Buxton® Coupon/Receipt Organizer - Bed Bath & Beyond and making a tab for each person and put the specific amount of $ we're tipping them. That way it's all nice and organized and I'll have it all in once place pre-sorted out. Another subject question. I have a private reception for 3 hours on the beach...however, I booked DJ Ivan for 4 hours and if I get lounge furniture for 4 hours will The Royal kick us off the beach after 3 hours? Or since it's a public beach can we stay the extra hour and let them have their round dinner tables and chairs back and keep partying?

You'll find this forum very helpful and if you start at the beginning (and have lots of time to spare) you will not believe how many questions you'll get answered and also how many questions that will be answered that you didn't even know you had! As far as the WC you asked about I think it varies. I, and many others, have a WC who is based out of Michigan that was assigned to us. Mine was assigned to me by my travel agent. Other girls on here have WC directly from the resort. Maybe a fellow bride will know more specifically how they are assigned out. Did you book through a travel agent? If so you may check with them.
  4. Ladies! Just found out some amazing news!! I thought you had to pay $25 per checked back…but NO! If you are flying American Airlines from US to Mexico you don’t have to pay for checked bags!! Also you can bring boxes with you as long as they meet the bag weight and size requirements: no more than 50lbs and no bigger than 62†total when adding together height, width and length. Soooo….I’ll be packing everything in boxes within the requirements and since everyone is allowed 2 checked bags per person I'll be handing all my friends and family who’s on my flight a box and saying “here take this†LOL Then once there we can just trash the empty cardboard boxes and be good to go! No empty suitcases to bring back!! Yay!!!

We're lucky to have you! Thanks for the info and I'll email them to see what price they'll quote me. Thanks again!!
  6. I'm curious if anyone knows the answer to this because I've asked my Michigan WC and to no avail haven't received an answer. What all is included in the 5 piece 'lounge furniture' that the resort provides? I have the 09-10 prices and on my wedding checklist it says for $250 I get 5 pieces. Has any past brides rented those pieces from the Royal or have any future brides asked that question and got an answer? Thanks in advance ladies!!!

Thanks so much! Also try Dallas Bridal Boutique, Bridal Shop, Bridal Gowns, Veils, Bridal Accessories Circle Park is right by Addison Airport. They are very well priced and have tons of dresses. They sale everything off the rack but their dresses are in prestine condition. They take really good care of their dresses and they have mostly 8's and 10's in size. Worth a walk through!

Yay for Dallas Desti Brides! I'm in Carrollton too! I'm right around the Carrollton/Addison border That'd be cool if we could all meet up and bounce ideas around about our weddings!

  10. Also, be careful with bringing sand into or out of your destination. I know I've heard other brides say that Mexico is a little crazy with sand entering or leaving the country. Again, if you have a receipt you'll be ok. Or I bet if you wrapped your sand ceremony items really well they may not even get a second glace if they're packed away.

Speaking of... how would they know? I mean does security bother everyone asking for room keys? Or do we all have to sport those attractive neon bracelets the whole time? I was wondering about this too since I have a few people thinking of staying off-site as well. Any past brides or site visitors know how this works?

I think in lieu of a bridal shower I think I'm going to have a PJ shower and just do a Pajama party with my girl friends and if they wanna bring comfy pj's for me then cool and if not that's cool too and we'll just hang out and have fun!
  13. Are these for online purchases only or available in stores as well?
  14. Not sure how you feel about this but my sister always said she'd do a birdcage veil (google it if you want to see pics) and she has shorter hair. It's very hollywood and chic! Not sure what your style is though. Or you could always get a diamond or rhinestone hair clip. Since the dress doesn't have a bunch of glitter I think a clip would bling it out perfect! The dress is gorgeous though and I think the birdcage would look super cute with it. Like something on a fashion runway
  15. Mine is insured through my renters insurance which is Safeco. Make sure it covers diamond loss and also is covered in other countries or while traveling. For destination weddings that is a must!
