There are a lot of great choices out there. The all-ages resorts that we really liked were Paradisus Riviera Cancun, Azul Sensatori, Azul Beach (for smaller weddings), and Dreams Tulum. We ended up picking The Royal in PDC because my FI and I really like the feel of adults-only which the Royal is, but there is a sister resort right next door and the kiddos can come over for the wedding. It was a tough decision and it's all about compromise, just remember that your wedding will be gorgeous at any of these amazing places! -

Congrats! I've found that sometimes a travel agent can make contact and get answers when we brides can't. If you don't have one, there are great TAs on this forum. You can click on the banner at the top of the screen and someone will email you back. It takes away a ton of stress!! -

I can't speak from personal experience but I don't think that it's a bad idea at all. I actually picked the Royal in PDC b/c of all of the great things I heard about their beach reception. If you're concerned about the cold, you could consider giving inexpensive pashminas to your female guests as the wedding favor. I've been to the riviera maya in Jan and it was cool on the beach at night but would have been perfect dancing weather :-)

Thanks for all of the information Jess...it sounds like you did a lot of legwork while you were in Playa. I esp love the idea of the Mariachi leading you to the reception. I love the beach receptions at the Royal but this is definitely something to consider. We'll have to check it out during out site visit this May. I'll prob PM you later for more info...
