  1. I am so excited to have found this thread! FI and I have searched and searched for reasonably priced linen suits. If we do end up purchasing a suit from this company, I'll be sure to post pics! Thanks for the info!
  2. Oh my goodness, I've never seen such a thing! What a great find!
  3. Wow, I didn't realize there would be such a big difference in price between color-coordinated candy and multi-color candy! Still...I think I vote for candy that matches your colors
  4. I just have to use real flowers. There is nothing beter to me than burying my nose in a big bouquet of fresh roses. But that's just me There are pros and cons to both.
  5. Is the ring plate from an etsy seller? I feel like I've seen something similar... I love it
  6. I know you said you don't want typical boxes, but here's what I did: I bought a set of 3 boxes nested inside each other. I stacked them so the largest was on the bottom, going up to the smallest box on the top. I cut a slit in the top of the first box, then cut out most of the bottom of the first box, the top and bottom of the second box, and the top of the bottom box. This allows the cards to fall all the way through and have room. I bought "paradise" calendars for $1 each at Michaels, tore the pictures out, and tore each picture into scraps. I used Mod Podge to decoupage the scraps of the calendar pictures onto each box. The top tier had scraps from the sky, the middle tier had scraps from the sand, and the bottom tier had scraps from the water parts of the pictures. So, while it is somehwat of a typical tiered box, it is totally unique the way I decorated it and I love it Not sure if I can post photos, but I'll try!
  7. I'm torn between the cones and the organza bags. The bags would travel better and require less work, but as others have said the cones would allow for more personalization and for the guests to throw the petals all at once. How's that for a helpful answer? Oops
  8. Wow! In all of my eagerness to do DIY projects, I would have never thought to actually MAKE necklaces for my BMs. They look great! Two thumbs up
  9. Whee! I was just wondering the other day whether we July brides had our own thread. Thanks Mandy! Name: Ashley FI Name: Anthony Wedding Destination: Captiva Island, FL What made you choose this destination? Anything is better than Indiana Nah, I just really love the beach! We visited 9 (9!) resorts in southern Florida and liked South Seas on Captiva Island the best. We wanted to stay in the states to make travel easier for our guests. Wedding Date: July 17, 2010 (date twins, Mandy!) What made you choose this date? July because we're both teachers and will be on summer break, 17th because I liked the idea of 7.17.10, the numbers make a fact family (7+10=17...etc.). Yeah, you can't really take the teacher out of me Have you decided on your wedding colors? If so, what are they? blue and brown (to be exact, aqua and chocolate maybe?) What is something unique about your wedding? I'll have to come back to this one...too late for my little brain lol
  10. Hi Jennifer! You'll be glad you have until 2011...there are so many great ideas on this site, you'll have plenty of time to read and try them all!
  11. Hi Lisa! You'll find a ton of helpful information here. It does become addicting very quickly! Good luck
  12. Hi Amber! Congratulations There are tons of helpful posts on this site, I hope you're able to nail down your venue soon!
  13. Your access to things like templates is based on how many points you have. I think one of the "stickies" at the top of the Newbies page explains everything... Good luck
  14. Hi Kathleen! Congratulations
  15. My family had a similar response when they found out we wanted a DW. We just laid out our reasons for why it was important for us to do it this way, and said we understood if they didn't feel the same way. Then we let it chill awhile to see if they would come around. Things are better now Good luck!
  16. Hi Kacy! I'm pretty new too, but there are SO many good ideas and helpful people here! Good luck!
  17. This is an awesome idea! Where did you get the petals from, and how many?? Can't wait to see it when it's finished!
  18. I love both dresses, but I love the second one just a teeny bit more. I, too, have picked out a dress that is probably a little more fancy than the venue calls for but I don't care because it's sooooo gorgeous! Can't wait to see which one you choose
  19. I too would like to know what kind of bag you used! What a great idea... I've DIY'd so many things already, I was sort of looking for a new project - I think I found one!
