  1. Oh dear, much like melette, I sense another DIY project being added to my list... Thanks for sharing this great idea!
  2. Ew, what a sticky situation... I don't know of any specific etiquette that applies here, but I can see being a little offended if someone told me I could/should only go to two of the resorts. I totally see where you're coming from, wanting a true honeymoon...hopefully the guests will have enough sense not to follow you around..?? Good luck!!
  3. I have bookmarked so many sites mentioned in this thread. Keep 'em coming!
  4. I am for sure showing this article to FI! We have been debating what to do for our honeymoon, cruise vs. AI resort. FI doesn't want to spend money on another flight to get from our DW location to an AI resort since we could just drive a couple hours to a port and take a cruise instead. All the benefits listed in this article will hopefully sway him to the AI side (especially the part about how crowded things get on cruise ships)!
  5. I always thought I would want the first time I saw FI on our wedding day to be as I was walking down the aisle, but I think I've changed my mind. I totally love the idea of having a private "first-time-you-see-each-other" moment. I'm pretty sure this is what I want to do (although I'll have to talk about it with FI - he and I have had a surprising number of differing opinions when it comes to this wedding stuff!).
  6. Hi! I'm getting married at South Seas too!! I would be happy to share my ideas and info that I've gathered so far. How far along are you in the planning process?
  7. I think since cream/off-white/ivory are all in the same color family, the guys should be fine with a slightly different shade for their shirts. Especially since the GM will be standing a small distance from you and FI will have the tan suit to break it up a little, if that makes sense!
  8. My friend who works for a jewelry store (and consequently helped FI choose the perfect ring for me) says my ring should be the last thing I put on before leaving the house and the first thing I take off when I get back. I guess it incurs the least damage this way. I usually put mine on after showering, wear it all day, and take it off at night before I go to bed. (I also take it off when putting lotion on.) I have found that giving it a quick scrub with a soft toothbrush each morning helps keep soap and other residues off and leaves it shiny and sparkly.
  9. Hey everyone! I hung around the forum a lot this summer, but since the school year started (FI and I are both teachers) I've been crazy busy! I'm looking forward to getting back to the boards now that we're just 6 months away!! Just wanted to say hey and see what everyone is up to. I feel SO behind right now. Anyone else in the same boat??
  10. I have already made a card box because I was on a DIY binge (lol), but I see where you're coming from.. I think I'll put mine somewhere out of the way so it's not screaming "Where are my gifts?!" but people can still place their cards in one spot if they do have them. I like the idea of a drawstring bag, too.

Below is the information for our favorite charity. Thank you." I am sure others can find better words for it than that. I think it can be done though! I forgot to say that I really liked your wording, Mandy, even though it didn't quite fit the situation Honestly, I might consider using it myself since FI and I will have lived together for almost 3 years before we're married. We already have 2 sets of everything from moving in together in the first place!
  12. I'm all for the donations - it's what I'd like to do as favors for my wedding - but I feel like the members of the wedding party should get a step above that. As others have said, it doesn't have to be a traditional ANYTHING. I vote for taking them on a fun outing or something similar. Just another opportunity to make great memories of your wedding!
  13. Well, I printed my stickers. I used regular printer ink and they turned out fine (for my invitations), however, I noticed after I posted on here that my sticker paper is "repositionable" - probably not what you want for travel mugs! So, I would definitely try the bumper sticker idea and let us know how it goes

  15. Pretty much as everyone else has said, go with what YOU want! Of course, if guests had to choose they would probably want a shorter ride, but it's YOUR wedding and you have your reasons for wanting the church that is farther away, AND if it's that big a deal, as FutureMrsLewis said, they don't have to go! But I can't imagine anyone would do that.

Less than $10 total, for sure. The offers they send in their e-mails are amazing!
  17. I say, do what makes you happy! That's the answer to SO many sticky situations us DW brides encounter
  18. I was going to suggest googling "boarding pass invitations" - that's what I did, and I ended up finding ayleebits. Her templates were great!

  20. I have tried eBay with no luck, and currently have a dress listed on preownedweddingdresses.com... This forum is probably your best bet
  21. Congratulations! There are so many helpful people and creative ideas on these boards. You'll love it
