  1. I had 52 guest an a good estimate just for ceremony, reception, cocktail hour, DJ, lighting, bouquets, cake and it does not include centerpieces was about 12k. I saved my bringing my own centerpieces, rose petals, favors to name a few.
  2. I had a symbolic ceremony and went to city hall the week before my wedding. I think its less complicated that way and you dont have to be worried about how its going to be filed, when etc.
  3. I researched some florist. Only one was kinda enough to send me a quote. It was comparable to what my resort was charging me. So I decided just to bring all of my centerpieces for 8 tables and rose petals.
  4. Thank you sooooooo much for your review. Congrats!! I must say you have put me to ease. My wedding is 6/5 and my receptions is at the rommantico with 50 guest. I was so nervous but your words brought me back down to earth. I can't wait to see your photos.
  5. Where did you get the little stem orchids? Everything looks awesome!
  6. Im having my ceremony, cocktail hr to follow and then my reception. The time line isn't the problem. The issue is I have to pay more at an all inclusive so I can have liquor at my cocktail hour. All they are providing me with is soft drinks and champagne and 5 apps. If I want 3 choice of liquor I have to pay an additional $12 pp and Im having 60 people so it adds up. There is a bar 100 feet away if anyone would like a mix drink. My concern is that I dont want to look cheap since cocktail hr usually is for the guest to have cocktails.

They are charging me for everything. They do not comp or offer you any discounts and their taxes are ridiculous.

  11. 5 weeks away from the big day. I ran intervals on the treadmill for 30 mins. I promised myself I will hit the gym hard for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully exercising will keep me from becoming bridezilla, lol
  12. I am having my wedding at the Paradisus Punta Cana an all inclusive resort and the cocktail hr is located about 100' from a full bar and my package only includes champagne and soft drinks like soda and juice. Do you think a cocktail hr with only these items is suitable. Note: My reception will have a full bar.
  13. Everything looks amazing!! I was wondering where I could purchase the table number cards on Etsy?

The next day I had my sister's boyfriend 'messenger' the locked box to our suite where FI was getting ready. His reaction was priceless... the pro-photographer took fantastic shots of his reaction. I know that you would never expect it, "I was the girl with the business degree, probably wouldn't recognize me". You tell me I'm gorgeous everyday, and after putting this together for you, I think I agree - I'm pretty hot actually! See you at the end of the aisle... Ill be the one in the white dress, wearing blue panties... I love you, A. He was definately surprised.... Hope this provides some inspiration! Love it girl!!!
  15. I chose 5:30 bc I didnt want too many people on the beach and still wanted sunlight to take photos, In addition, I wanted our cocktail hour at sunset and reception at night. My wedding is in Punta Cana and sunset in June is at 7:20.

We're getting a professional book done in the Dominican but I can't trust that someone's not going to ruin it by writing over our photos etc., so I checked out blurb and you can get a book with 40 pages for under $30. Including shipping it would be around $40 and at least it's something you can leave out on the coffee table. We'll include some wedding photos as well as photos of us when we were younger, dating, etc. What a great site. Thank you for the post. i will use this site for my guest book as well as my BD Book.
  17. I'm travelinmg with freeze dried rose petals as well. I'm also scared they will take them away when I arrive in Punta Cana or maybe when I depart from NYC. Although I think there biggest concern is when it comes to plants and flowers. I hope dried rose petals don't fall into that category. Has anyone traveled with rose petals?
