They give you a beach bag...
KelZavs20 replied to bobbysgirl's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I agree...skip the beach bag if they already get one! Save yourself some money! BUT you may want to consider adding some sort of ID tag to your OOT goodies that they can put on the beach bag that the hotel gives them (something that will survive the sun, sand and ocean)....since they are all going to have the same bag it will be nice to be able to tell whose is whose when groups of your guests find themselves together on the beach! -
Quick question regarding the sit down vs. buffet style dinners for you gals.... i typically dont particularly like buffet style dinners, but our guest list for our DW has pretty much exploded overnight and i know that we wont be able to have the sit down dinner anymore.... do any of you have pictures of a buffet set up? comments about it? i just dread the idea of guests waiting in a line to fill their plates, but i could just be being my regular old paranoid self.....

Discount Mugs issue
KelZavs20 replied to meldal101010's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags

Need help with invitations please!
KelZavs20 replied to punkie569's topic in At Home Reception (AHR)
As for your buffet dilema....i would call it a "strolling dinner." People automatically then know that it is not a sit dow, and that it is probably more of an appetizer style meal (lots of choices add up to a full dinner). I am always rsvp'ing for my bosses to events and that is the wording i see most for that kind of meal. And, to keep the kids at bay, you should only have to address your invitation to the adults specifically...if the invitation doesnt say "and family" then they should know it means just the adults you have addressed it to. Also, send out your ahr info as early as possible - i think it would be ok to send them out before you go to mexico....figure in the fact that around christmas the mail is slower as well! -

So far planning has been hell. I found this website while researching people having parent issues about their destination weddings and was hoping for advise and encouragement. Thanks and I look forward to getting to know everyone. ~Nicole Choosing a destination was hellish for me and my fiance too....we are currently both living in michigan, but we met working together in cancun, mexico....his family is all from/currrently living in Acapulco, mexico. We got hit from both sides - couldnt have it up here because that wasnt fair to his family, couldnt have it in acapulco because that wasnt fair to my family (its VERY expensive to travel to acapulco) - so we opted for a central location that had meaning to us. People still gripe about it, but we chose a place that made us happy and that BOTH sides of the family had to travel to. The best advice anyone gave me was to plan what our dream wedding would be....in the end you'll find that those who matter most will be by your side, no matter where you get married

Congrats and Welcome! Cancun is amazing!!!!!

2 weeks is not too long!!!! go for it and enjoy every minute of it! if i had the vacation time at work, I'd be going for two weeks too!! And, you are absolutely right, if its your first time going and you want to go to all the places you mentioned (xcaret, tulum, etc.etc.) then you are going to need the time, with some recovery days in between!

Thanks for the help! I'm getting excited!!! I'll be sure to bring back lots of pics Wooo Hoooo!!! a week and a half - i bet you cant sleep at night!!! My wedding isnt until August, but from reading on this board it seems that most leave just about everything until they get there! I think as long has you have everything in order ceremony wise (your music and script if you are writing your own) then you should be fine! Im leaving pretty much anything that requires a "choice" for when we get there. Im not picking a menu until we can taste it, and im not picking flowers until i can see sample pictures! Cant wait to see your pics and read your review!!

Another good site is Wedding Invitations - Baby Invitations - Party Invitations - Storkie. My mom ordered bridal shower invites from them - their stuff is very unique and you can change / customize anything! Quality is great too.

HElP with our AHR!!! Creative minds NEEDED!!!

OOT question

We are lucky that most our guests all arrive after us (except my immediate family) so i love the tip of splitting up the load between us! We are also doing one bag for couple, and one per single for the same reason as above! We did double up on the things a couple would need two of (like mugs/cups)....doesnt seem cheap to me....seems practical! -
Quickly becoming one as the time runs out!!!! Hope i stay addicted so i can help future brides as much as past brides on this site have helped me !!!

Is anyone else out there as excited as me I didnt get into the series until it was on as re-runs, but I LOVED the first movie and will be standing in line to watch the second!!! Carrie is my favorite, but ive been told im just like Charlotte?!?! Can't wait!!!! It's nearly the only thing I've been distracted by these days besides the wedding )

If you already know the date you want, I would say get it reserved as soon as you know the resort you want!! March/April tend to be BUSY for tropical places....in terms of occupancy at hotels - that is their high season. You might not have flight prices available, or room rates, but you should be able to lock in your wedding package price.

I hope everything turns out perfect for you....2 weeks is like a blink of an eye!

Hi Girls, for the first time ever i am having a hard time getting a hold of Cecilia....and of course its when i have a pressing question!!! i need to set the arrival time for my guests in order to finish my invitations.... But besides that, i cannot for the life of me remember the diferences between the beach near the gazebo (i think this is the carribean beach , the one that was just restored and is now massive) and the other beach (i think its called himitsu?)....do any of you have any opinions good or bad about these beaches? i was originally having the reception on the beach near the gazebo, but now that it is so big im not sure that i want to.....

Wondering if anyone out there created a little card about their photosharing group Im thinking of including a little card (almost like a business card) in the OOT bag, as well as part of their favor at the AHR.... Just looking for a template or a cute saying to put on the card. So many of you come up with witty things that I just cant help but "borrow"....my NON creative brain tells me to put "Smile your on Snapfish" but im sure there is something better!!!! Any help is much aprreciated!

Tresor de LANCOME ; ) My friends and family are always asking to bring them lotion from Victorias Secret....so common here, but the only place to get it in Cancun is the duty free shop, and the selection is VERY limited... I also LOVE the idea of writing a reccomendation letter. The hotels that I used to work for in Cancun would publish the comments that guests left on their comment cards once a month - it was so awesome to have your name in those comments for all the staff to see. if the hotel that you stay at has comment cards - try to reference the standout members of the staff by name! I will probably give a small gift ($15-$20) with the recomendation letter AND the tip.

I am doing this....I also LOVE my dress, but i am worried about it not coming clean after a beach reception since i am wearing it again for the AHR. Most bridesmaid dresses come in white as well....i found a chiffon and silk one that i loved and went that route. Helped with the budget, it is light and flowy and no one will ever know (except you ladies here) that its a bridesmaid dress!
