  2. Oh man red789. How silly is it that I didn't think about halloween candy at all? I'm leaving on Halloween so this idea will come in handy for me too. Thanks!
  3. You look stunning and I must say I loved the socks. On a random note...how tall is your DH? He looks like a man with some serious height. :-)
  4. My girlfriend got her dress from a place called Elizabeth Stuart Discount Bridal. I'm not sure if it's TO or Mississauga though. Her dress was only $348 taxes in! I got my dress in Oakville at Saratina Bridal Boutique. Although not in Toronto it was a fantastic place. It's a smaller shop but has a good selection of dresses I would wear for a beach wedding and the prices were good too. Mine was $800 with a custom length and some minor alterations.
  5. It seems we're all wondering about what the cakes looked like. Just thought it might be easier on Im1984 if I just posted them pics of them here. Enjoy ladies and thanks again Im1984!
  6. I'm wondering the same thing, why pick one when you really love two? IMO I think you made the right decission. I think number one is gorgeous on you!
  7. Has anyone done their TTD session in Playa Del Carmen? I thought it might be nice to go there but I'm wondering if it'd be too crowded. Also, how long are the sessions you girls have had? Will an hour be sufficent?
  8. Tlseege - Thanks for the input. We are getting married on a Thurday so perhaps I should start thinking about getting a DJ. I'm going to wait until we get confirmation on the private poolside dinner first though. If we don't have that then that will surely change what I have in mind.
  9. I have an addition. 4. My man paints and he does so with spray paint. Doesn't matter which closet you open it is filled with empty and full cans of spray paint. It's gotten to the point that he is even storing it on the balcony now! My apartment is being invaded! Not to mention there is paint on everything he owns. Good clothes or not it's got at least one blob of paint on it.
  10. I would go with a group booking. Well I actually did go with a group booking. With the swine flu out break in Mexico I would be weary of something like that happening again causing you to have to move your wedding like it did to some brides this time. My TA advised that it's much easier to move a group then random bookings. Yes your guests could save money that way but think of the extra bit of a group price insurance. Its to ensure that no matter what happens before 2010 your group will always be together and be there on your big day! Happy planning.
  11. Hmm what bugs me about my Steven?? 1. I'm with EDSROSA - We have lysol wipes. Use them to clean up your little hairs after you shave. 2. He NEVER changes the bog roll. I know he uses it too so how he can use the loo so why not change it! 3. I'm not sure why his laundry can make it to the basket but the socks cannot. Huh? Why does my bedroom have to be littered with dirty socks? I'm no angel though. I'm sure I can think of a couple things that bother him. 1. When I go shopping, which I do a lot (I live across the road from a mall) I leave my bags to pile up beside the TV. He's always after me to put my stuff away. 2. I don't drive. I can drive but I hate driving standard. So much so that I cry when I have to drive. Is it a real fear or just being spoiled. Perhaps a mix of both. 3. I m clumsy. I think last week alone I broke 3 things. A mug, a glass butter dish, and my favourite wine glass. Oops. With all our quarks we've made it 7 years so far. I look forward to the many more to come.
  12. I would for sure get in contact with a TA. Ours was great and they're based out of Oakville. They will source out prices for you a different resorts and show you resorts that you might not have even thought of but could potentially really love. The business is called The Wedding Holiday. For us they were fantastic! Good luck price hunting. It just might be easier to leave the dirty work to someone else. :-)
  13. I originally wanted a cocktail dress too. Then I started trying dresses on. I ended up with long and a small train. I love my dress! If you have tried on something shorter that you love then go with it. Just try on the long ones too so you know for sure.
  14. Hi Lou and congratulations!! My FI and I booked with The Wedding Holiday they're a local outfit that specializes in DW without the service charges. I believe that they will help you co-ordinate everything over the phone or via skype if you have it. They were really helpful in helping us choose. For our wedding we're having everyone book through them. The reason being is that if something like swine flu should happen again our TA will take care of everything involved in having our group move to a different location. If everyone were booked apart from the group it would be so much of a headache trying to get all that sorted out. Good luck and have fun planning!
  15. I have the same troubles too. My FI suggested making a group on Facebook for everyone and that seems to be working out much better.
  16. MAC blot powder is my friend. I use a tinited moisturiser and then dust that over my face. Makes it nice and light feeling while still being matte. It obsorbs oil so it lasts. Sometimes I will re-apply though if I'm going out at night.
  17. Ok pool works too. Did you get a DJ and all that good stuff for the reception too? I was thinking that we could just go to the hotel club if we wanted to party afterwards. I'm having and AHR too so at the risk of sounding cheep I'm trying to save where I can.
  18. Thanks Joanna and Tlseege - I've asked the co-ordinator to book us for a private reception on the beach. I'll take pool side too I just want it to be private. I've received confirmation on the guitar trio and I think I'm going to go with just 1 teir too. Do you think I can request a certail colour of icing? I can't wait to read your review Joanna. I haven't been able to find many of them so I've been feeling a little lost.
  19. I got them! Thanks for sending those over. Now to decide which one. They surely aren't like the cakes that you would find in Canada. ;-)
  20. The majority of the girls seem to want Jack Astors. I can make the patio reservations once we pick a date. Timing is something we should talk about too. I work until 5 right at King and Bay so it's a hop, skip and a jump away. I was thinking 5:30??
