So it’s getting down to the wire for us and I just can’t express how excited I am, but I’ll try anyways…. YIPPIE!! YIPPIE!! WOO HOO!! ARRIBA!! Well, that’s close enough. :-) So here I go with my planning thread. I like most other girls cannot thank everyone on this forum enough. It’s been great to be able to chat about wedding stuff with people that aren’t sick of hearing about it. Getting all these opinions, advise and suggestions has been a life saver. Now this is how it all began, http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...mas-eve-45702/ And the fun bit in between. I had way too much fun picking all of these things out. Good news for me is that they are going to allow me to keep my photographer (which is already paid in full for). This is her reply... First of all, please be aware that the last thing we were trying to do, was unconfort you in any way. I am very sorry for any inconvenience the whole change might have caused to you. I fully understand your situatation and after a long talk with the people in charge of the administration, we got to a point where we?ll be letting you use your photographer as a Unique exception. I am very sorry we could not cover your special day. It would have been an honor to be able to capture all the magic and emotions of this once in a life time occasion. I am sure you would have been extremellly pleased with our work. Quote: Originally Posted by lm1984 I'm getting married at the Tulum on November 4, and Jazmin has yet to email me about this issue. I would definatly get something in writing to take to the resort with you. I'm getting married a day after you and as mentioned above they're calling my situation a unique exception. I plan to post a review but am waiting on my pictures before I do...but in the meantime...everything was absolutely AMAZING!!! Karla and Christian (Coba WC's) are FANTASTIC!!! They went above and beyond for our whole group. I am a very "particular" person and they took care of every single detail that I requested. It was wonderful. Oops! I can't believe I got the days wrong. I'm glad to hear that Karla and her partner in crime are fantastic. I can't wait until it's my turn to finally meet them. I can't wait to see pictures!!

AHHHHH!!! So I am joining the freak out party for this darn photographer issue!! When the first round of e-mails went out I immediatly got in contact with Karla ensuring that there would be no problem having my already booked (paid deposited) photographer come onto the resort. She responded that it would not be an issue since I had paid a deposit and that I was getting married so close. Since then I have paid my photographer in FULL and I'm all set and ready to go when I receive this aggrivating e-mail... Hi Keira, I am pleased to contact you with Ms. Russ Pla who is the Wedding photo & video Manager Assistant at Gran BahÃa Principe who are the one authorized to make pictures of our facilities. We have some changes during this days about this service in the hotel, so she will let you know about the access of the photographer you already contacted. I am sure that Russ will provide you an excellent service solving out all your doubts about photography and video. I better not lose any money here of this girly is going to flip her lid!! I've replied back outline my concern for losing the some $1500 USD that I've shelled out for my photographer. I hope they respond with the answer that I'm looking for. That my photographer will have no issues getting on the resort.

We're getting picked up first and as we pick up more people we're going to give them their OOT bags then. That gives people about an hour to go through them shuffle things around and pack up their oot bags. -
I agree. It sounds like she is saying its your fault their policy has changed and they no longer allow outside photographers. I'm wondering if you should respond to find out when their new policy went into affect. If you paid your photography deposit (and have proof) before the date it went into affect then there shouldn't be an issue. I'm getting married just before you and I had no issues with dealing with Karla. She didn't seem to have an issue letting me use my photographer. though she did say that it would be different for brides going forward. Forward from when, I don't know.

Ericka - Just want to tell you how beautiful you look in your dress. Simple but elegant. Just lovely. Melissa - I was debating the sashes too and then decided against them. I've got too much to worry about without wondering about what the chairs are going too look like. My decission was easy once I realised that they would get wrinkled in transit and might need to be ironed before being put on the chair. I don't iron anything so I decided against them. :-) -
Huge party but since FI is a total opposite to me he would hate the big party. Would you rather your FI have a fling with Scarlet Johannson or Angelina Jolie?

FI insists that he doesn't notice. Like video games because they keep FI occupied while I do wedding stuff. Maple syrup?

Oh that is a toughy. Hmmmm.....I'm gonna go with the annoying guy. I really just can't stomach looking at carrot top. At least with the voice guy I could tape his mouth shut. lol. Would you rather have a fling with Michael Moore or Larry King?
-
Veil. Just a short one. Lipstick on your wedding day or no?
-
If a persons life is at risk I believe they should be notified. If the STD is non life threatening then I would say you're bound by privacy laws. Would you ever make out with your FI in public? I'm talking they kind that might make a mother cover her kids eyes.
-
Like but only if it's raspberry beer. mmmm. Back to commercials, what about the Telus one with the goats?
-
Sprite. I don't think I remember what 7up tates like, it's been so long. Would you rather be attacked by a stranger or someone you knew?
-
No. Too risky. I wouldn't want to break my FI's trust. Would you ever have a fight with your FI in front of his family?

Now that I've got the mixer I can call the whole thing off :-) hahaha. I say, you've come this far already, you might as well just finish it off an get hitched. lol. Have you made anything super tasty in it? I made the brownies using the receipe that came with the mixer and they were delicious!! I'm all ears if you've got a receipe you'd like to share. -

How boring eh? I am getting really excited!! We leave in 17 days today (not that I'm counting or anything, lol) and I'm pretty set up. I just have to pick up my dress and have my reception dress dry cleaned. Other then that all my wedding stuff is all packed up and ready to go. Woot! Whoot! My thoughts were the same. The response I got from Karla was that I was allowed to have the local photographer I hired before all this malarky. She made it sound like they were going to be putting a stop to the outside vendors (photography anyways) but had to respect girls that had already made outside arrangements. If you're bringing your photographer and paying for them to stay on the resort, I think that is another story. Since they are a "guest" there is no day pass necessary. I'm not even sure if they would be considered a vendor because you could say they're related to you and so they're doing your pictures as a wedding gift.

Wedding for sure. I want people to party with at the reception. Would you rather have a broken bone or a visable cut on your wedding day?
